Due to Angel Locsin’s portrayal of strong female characters, it was hard to imagine that she too was bullied in the past.
Filipina television and film actress Locsin, 33, posted this Friday on her Instagram story an exchange with a former high school bully who sought forgiveness for past transgressions.
Her former classmate from the University of Sto. Tomas High School reached out to the star of “The General’s Daughter” through a private message on Instagram, to apologize for his/her actions when they were younger.
The user’s identity was protected by Locsin and his/her message read: “Hi Angel, you probably don’t remember me but I used to not like you back in USTHS. I remember I bullied you before… I want to say I am sorry. I want you to know (while I am watching your movies in Netflix) that I am extremely amazed by how good an actress you are! Congratulations on how you have become a very good actress! I can probably say that perhaps, I am a fan now! Again, I apologize.”
“Hello! Mga bata pa tayo noon. Your message made me smile. Salamat. Pasensiya na rin kung may nagawa ako para hindi mo ako magustuhan. Sabi nga nila, it takes two to tango. So ayun. Pasensya na. Ingat lagi!” responded the famous actress.
She then went on to tell her Instagram followers that she was “quite moved” by the sudden act of contrition and shared it online for anyone who needed to be inspired by her former bully who now turned over a new leaf.
The Kapamilya star has served as an inspiration to many because of her charitable heart.
“At some point in our lives, we’ve all been bullied, and we’ve all been bullies. But as a wise Beatle once wrote, ‘Life is very short, and there’s no time for fussing and fighting, my friend’. So if you have the chance to apologize to someone you’ve hurt, take it. And if someone asks for your forgiveness, give it to them. In either case, if your efforts are sincere, you’ll never regret it,” claimed Locsin.
The news of their first movie project together set abuzz online and was met with much enthusiasm from fans of both artists. The two will be directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, who is known for romantic comedy movies and melodramatic films.

Angel Locsin’s comeback project after 5 years is all worth the wait. Why? Because majority of TV viewers are watching it, based on the latest data released by the two ratings providers – NUTAM and Kantar Media. ABS-CBN gets TV ratings from Kantar Media while GMA Network rely on data coming from NUTAM.
‘The General’s Daughter’ vs. ‘Sahaya’

On March 19, domination was still on ABS-CBN’s side when ‘The General’s Daughter’ made total views of 33.4% while ‘Sahaya’ only gained 15.7%, having at least an average difference of 17.7 percent.
On March 20, the Kapuso network still did not get the higher rate as ‘Sahaya’ lost about 17.3%, after it earned a total percentage of 15.4% against ‘The General’s Daughter,’ which gained a total of 32.7%. ABS-CBN even got a higher gap when ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ gained a total of 34.2% against ‘Sahaya’ which gained a total of 16.1%, having at least an 18.1% higher rate than the latter series on March 21.
Indeed, more Filipino viewers nationwide look forward to Angel’s casting and appearance in every dramatic project that she’s into. She has performed quality and awesome acting skills that made tele-viewers inspired by her innate charisma. Angel Locsin has qualified herself, and proven to the Filipinos, that she is indeed the Primetime Drama-Action Queen.
Angel Locsin joined showbiz in 2002. During her early career years, she made her mark when she took her flight as ‘Darna’ in the GMA Network series. She made her Kapamilya acting debut in the drama series ‘Lobo’ as Lyka Raymundo-Ortega, which aired in 2006. The series won the “Ani ng Dangal Multimedia Award” and the actress was nominated for “Star Award for TV for Best Drama Actress.”
Angel Locsin’s rumored walk-out in one of ‘The General’s Daughter’ taping on February 15 has made abuzz in the entertainment circuit. Many have been asking about the reason behind such move. Despite the speculations, none of the entertainment reporters bothered to clarify it with the lead star of the said action-drama series.
It then compelled the actress to speak up.
According to rumors, Locsin had issues toward the director Manny Palo, but some have denied it. A reporter asked Angel’s co-star Tirso Cruz III during the birthday of Sen. Jinggoy Estrada but he failed to get a direct reply since according to the veteran actor came in later.
“Late call kasi ako. Pagdating ko dun, nakaalis na siya. Hindi ko talaga alam, bakit,” Tirso said.
He was also asked to confirm if there was truth about Locsin’s so-called ‘attitude problem’ toward the director. Cruz III denied it since the two (Locsin and Palo) have a good relationship.
“Ay hindi, Okay kami kay direk Manny. Wala kaming problema sa kanya. Okay sa set, walang problema.”
Recently a video on Youtube was uploaded and it showed reporters asking Ryza Cenon (another co-star of Locsin) regarding the walk-out issue. Cenon also said she has no idea what really happened that day because she was asleep.
She added that when she woke up Angel had already gone.
Allan Diones tagged Angel Locsin about the video of Ryza Cenon being interviewed about the walk-out issue that occurred in February. Locsin replied to the said rweet.
Thank you for tagging me, Sir Allan. As a well respected veteran JOURNALIST, I’m just wondering why after all the stories you’ve published u never took the time to get my side?
— Angel Locsin (@143redangel) March 14, 2019
On her post, she thanked Diones for tagging her. She expressed her puzzlement on why reporters have not asked her directly about the issue. Stories were already published but none had the time to get her side.
Diones eventually sent a DM to Locsin on Twitter.
Thank you for the reply, Ms Angel. Sent you DM po! 🙂 https://t.co/4okNCJzPnA

During his last moments, after his performance, according to JM De Guzman who was one of the performers on the event, all he thought was that Chokoleit was tired because of his performance before he was brought to the hospital.

“Pero at the same time I know he’s in a safe place, happy place,” he added.

Angel Locsin had nothing but kind words to the director of The General’s Daughter, Manny Palo.
During the press conference of her first ever teleserye under Dreamscape, for her prime time comeback after a few years of hiatus, she shared what’s it like to work with Palo as a director.
“Si Direk Manny Palo kasi is brilliant. Ang swerte namin na nagkaroon kami ng direktor na alam niya kung anong gagawin. Siya kasi yung kaya niya kaming i-control lahat. Kasi kahit anong sabihin namin sa kanya, memorize niya yung script so hindi namin siya maloloko.”
Locsin added that because the director knows what he is doing, they often finish their taping schedules on time.
“Alam niya yung gagawin niyo sa bawat eksena kaya ang bilis bilis din niya mag shoot. Natatapos namin yung schedule namin. Plus ang gaan din niya ka-trabaho.”
The actress then addressed her remark that director Palo is a “terror” on the set, saying that others may only view him that way maybe because he had a bad day or someone did something wrong. However, she thinks that he’s really kind and caring.
“Sabi ng iba terror daw si Direk Manny. Siguro pag may mali ka, ganon. Or siguro, bad day lang si direk pero he’s really nice. Actually ang bait ni direk. At maalaga siya sa mga tao. “
She even admitted that the cast sometimes makes fun of the director whenever he gets angry.
“Minsan pinapagtawanan namin pag nagwawala siya pero part niya na yun eh. Parang hindi pwedeng hindi eh. Boring. Boring yung set. At umpisa palang sinabi niya ‘walang diva sa inyo ha, ako lang ang diva,’ kaya siya lang ang diva ganon. “
On the other hand, Locsin admitted that her character on the series is her most complicated role thus far. She has also praised her co-stars.
“Masasabi ko na I think eto yung pinaka-complex [and] complicated na character na gagawin ko. Mahirap po siya. Actually mga characters po namin, mahirap gawin. Pero fun, kasi yung mga ka-eksena ko po ang gagaling umarte so nakakakuha po ako sa kanila ng emosyon.”
The General’s Daughter also stars big names such as Paulo Avelino, Arjo Atayde, Tirso Cruz III, Albert Martinez, Eula Valdez, Janice de Belen, and Maricel Soriano.
The General’s Daughter airs weeknights on the ABS-CBN network.

Angel Locsin has been missing in action from teleseryes since The Legal Wife. And now that she is coming back with The General’s Daughter, she shared the reason why it took her five years to star in a series again.
In the span of a few years, the actress went through a break-up, a spinal injury, and an almost resignation from ABS-CBN.
The reason for her teleserye hiatus was speculated to be one of those occurrences but at the press conference of The General’s Daughter, she shared that it was actually not the case.
So why? Darna.
“Noong gagawin ko po dapat ‘yung ‘Darna,’ mayroon kaming agreement ng ABS na hindi ako tatanggap ng ibang project hangga’t ginagawa po ‘yung ‘Darna.’ Dahil inabot tayo ng lampas limang taon ata ‘yung preparation ng ‘Darna,’ na-delay nang na-delay.”
Star Cinema announced in 2014 that Locsin would play as the Filipino female super hero once again for the film adaptation.
“Though nakakagawa ng ibang guestings, ng pelikula, ‘yung teleserye not allowed.
“May agreement naman po kami sa ganu’n, kasi mahirap at very physical. Pati ‘yung schedule na kailangan doon sa ‘Darna,’ medyo challenge. Natagalan po talaga.”
Though she was absent from teleseryes, she did take on some acting roles, including a two-part episode for Maalaala Mo Kaya, and a guest appearance in La Luna Sangre. She also continued to be a judge in Pilipinas Got Talent.
The actress was also in two non-action films under Star Cinema.
In 2017, she has decided to withdraw from Darna, citing her injury and how the role would require a lot of physical routines.
The General’s Daughter will premiere on Monday, January 21, after FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
The General’s Daughter star Angel Locsin admitted that there was a point in her career that she nearly quit showbiz.
It was because of her spinal injury, but it wasn’t the only reason as she added that she felt like a big disappointment at that time.
During an interview at the press conference of her upcoming teleserye, she shared that she already submitted her resignation letter but changed her mind after having a talk with the ABS-CBN executives.
She said that she felt like a disappointment as she wasn’t able to work.
“Thankful din ako na ngayon lang ako nagtrabaho. Kasi feeling ko dati ‘di ko kakayanin e. Ayoko na e. Ayoko na noon e. Nagre-resign na ‘ko. As in may letter na ‘ko. Kasi parang feeling ko hindi ko deserved, di ko nagagawa yung trabaho ko. Parang feeling ko I’m a big disappointment.”
Locsin added that she also felt ashamed because given the circumstances, she’s still paid.
“Sa body ko, hindi ko nagawa yung responsibility ko sa ABS-CBN. Nahihiya ako kasi I’m paid e. Parang ganon. Kaya akala ko ganun yung proper way para i-deal ‘yon. Buti na lang yung mga boss ng ABS-CBN kinausap nila ‘ko. Tapos after one week, may pinresent tapos sabi, ‘Gel tignan mo lang kung okay.”
She admitted that that was a challenging era of her life but now she’s happier as her body responded positively to her action stunts.
So ito, nilalaban ko but I’m very careful naman. After ng eksena, ice pack, warm compress, day before nagpapa-PT na ko.”
In The General’s Daughter, the actress will play as a daughter of a military general who was raised to take down their family’s biggest enemy.
