Gerald Anderson, known to take stardom being half of the kilig loveteam Kimerald, is now busy promoting his upcoming film ‘Can We Still Be Friends?‘.
The much-awaited comeback of his tandem with Arci Muñoz is now ready to relive #TeamLablab by turning it to #TeamRelate.
He took the Philippine showbiz again by storm after admitting his ‘exclusively dating’ status with Bea Alonzo. While they are both enjoying each other’s company, Kim Chiu‘s name will always be attached to Gerald’s after being a real-life couple for almost half of his 11-year showbiz career. It is inevitable to talk about Gerald Anderson without Kim being dragged to the conversation. That’s how big their loveteam was, and will be.
In one of his interviews and promotions for his upcoming film, he was asked how he is dealing with the sudden comeback of Kimerald. He simply said,
“Masaya ako dahil marami rin po kaming fans na naghihintay at naghintay para magsama ulit kami ni Kim. Ito nga, araw-araw na nila kaming mapapanood. So, isa yun sa mga gusto ko rin talagang gawin dahil nga para sa mga fans na simula ng career ko andun sila. 11 years na akong artista at hanggang ngayon andyan pa rin sila. Bilang loveteam, sobrang happy ako na kasama ko siya ulit.”
Since his new film revolves about exes who are trying to be friends again, Gerald answered how did the Kimerald comeback start off. Awkwardness is really evident, according to him.
“Syempre bago pa naman ‘yung Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin, hindi rin kami ‘yung sobrang okay na okay, diba? Hi, hello na lang ‘pag nagkikita kami sa ASAP. So, syempre may awkwardness talaga sa simula.”
But he also shared how he was able to cope up with the awkwardness later on.
“Time. Habang nagte-taping kami, habang mas nakakasama ko siya ng mas matagal, nagiging mas okay.”
What do you think, guys? Can you actually befriend your exes? Why or why not, share us your thoughts!
#TeamLablab is finally back on the big screen after the success of Always Be My Maybe. Gerald Anderson and Arci Muñoz are now ready to amaze us in this completely different film–but with an equally same kilig factor. “Can We Still Be Friends?” is the newest offering of Star Cinema invading theaters on June 14.
The ultimate tandem of Gerald and Arci cleared that they are done with #TeamLablab and they are now the #TeamRelate. Portraying a more mature role, the movie envisions to relate more to the masses. It depicts an ordinary couple facing a usual situation in a relationship.
The film written by Jen Chuaunsu and directed by Prime Cruz, revolves around the story of a couple facing atrocities despite being together for 8 years. The character of Samantha aka Sam (Arci Muñoz) and Diego aka Digs (Gerald Anderson) would definitely appeal to the audience as it reflects the status quo of long-time relationships. The two broke up and lost contact with each other, but fate brings them back together in an awkward conversation.
Do you want to know about what their topic was? Tinder.
But there’s more to the film than the inclusion of the said social dating application. It is a story of lovers who became exes and now starting over again by just being friends.
Here is the official trailer of the movie.
In an interview, Arci was asked if she would be willing to try Tinder. According to her, when they were told about what the app was, she had no idea. She didn’t have a clue what it actually is and how it works. But as soon as she got a hand on it, she probably would consider trying it soon.
“Ako. I’ll try. I think it’s fun. Gagawa ako, kaso [as of now] puno pa yung memory ng phone ko ‘e (laughs).”
So guys, now you know! Better to install that app again and start looking for Ms. Arci Muñoz. Who would know, you might find yourself getting a ‘match’ from her.
On the other hand, while Arci has not yet confirmed her Tinder account, head on to the nearest cinemas to watch this great film starting June 14. Don’t forget!

After the phenomenon success of “Dream Dad” bidding farewell this week, Dreamscape Entertainment Television is ready to show another high caliber drama series titled “Nathaniel.” It is a story of an angel who came to earth to fulfill one mission, to bring back the faith and goodness to human being.
During the presscon, the cast discussed about angels and life. According to them, doing “Nathaniel” inspires them to be a good person and to be an angel in a little way to others.
Gerald Anderson who plays as Paul Laxamana said that he is very excited to do the teleserye because he believes that the story was good.
Every show, dapat iba ung binibigay mo, ung level ng acting dapat iba, ung iba talaga, ibang atake, ibang character kaya dapat iba sa lahat kaya for me dapat mas at grabe pa ung ibibigay ko, ung may improvement sa bawat show, Gerald said.
I believed that most of us have their own angels.
Gerald said he is not yet ready. In life, he said the character is not easy, It’s tough and it’s because at some point he needs to think of every situation.
Sa show kasi, we were young couple kaya di pa ready kaya may times na di okay. It depends on what kind of love you have. Sa show, unstable at walang work si Paul kaya mahirap po, Gerald recalls.
Gerald answered the question during some personal interviews and he said, he is happy spending more time with his brother Ken.
Siya yung pinakamakulit eh. Hindi ko nga alam sa kanya. Yung bisaya video ako yun. Wala lang, that was actually for Tang kasi gumawa sila ng juice for Mindanao so siyempre Bisaya kami so we did it in Bisaya. Meron pa kaming gagawin,” he said.
But despite the fact that he is very busy doing Nathaniel, he is also in the midst of asking the press his privacy with regards to his relationship with Maja Salvador. Gerald said they are doing good and prefer to keep specific details in private.
Okay naman. Masaya naman. It’s okay. I think in a relationship maraming ups and downs and you have to learn from it and the experience makes you a better person. It should make you a better person. Kung hindi, you’re in a wrong relationship, he explained.
Meanwhile, the whole cast are excited for the teleserye.
Completing the star-studded cast of “Nathaniel” are Pokwang, Isabelle Daza, Benjie Paras, Jayson Gainza, Ogie Diaz, Sharlene San Pedro, Jairus Aquino, Yesha Camile, David Chua, Young JV, Fourth and Fifth Pagotan, and Coney Reyes. It directed by Darnel Joy Villaflor and Francis Pasion. Nathaniel’s official soundtrack “Lupa Man ay Langit na Rin” is recorded and performed by King of Teleserye themesongs Erik Santos and airs on April 20, 2015 right after TV Patrol replacing Dream dad on Prime time bida.
Love is the greatest thing one can ever have here in the place we live in and even in the life after death, perhaps. Love has its way of making you laugh, cry, and all emotions in between. Not every love feeling pours into someone gets the same profit as how it’s given.
In the romantic mysterious movie, “Halik Sa Hangin” merely asks people how much sacrifice can someone do in the name of love.
This may sound cliche but this is really happening. We may know and get experience from stories like this that aren’t successful because it’s forbidden.
Intriguing and out of the line, this film carries bravery and passion to offer something that is different, not the usual romantic-comedy but a union of 2 elusive genres.
This movie does not just want you to enter characters’ lives but make it possible for you to evaluate how far you can go and what lessons it can impart to you- lessons that most of us are aware, yet somehow neglected, because of too much love.
1. Love is not a business. It’s not a transaction. It’s not an exchange or something you get for doing something it’s not a trade. It’s a gift!
Common! This is so true. You cannot have it all. If you passionately love someone it doesn’t guarantee you to get that kind of love back. You cannot control someone’s life and more so, his/her feelings for you. And Alvin (portrayed by JC De Vera) is an epitome of this particular guy type.
He knows where he stands. He’s not the kind of guy who would insist what he wanted. He believes in giving respect to Mia (starred by Julia Montes). Even the latter can just give love of friendship, Alvin still stays. Oh man, it’s not a trade.
2. “Home is where you are loved the most and act the worst.” – Marjorie Pay Hinckley
Your relationship with family members maybe in thru ups and downs. You shrugged off parents’ ground. For you they have broken the world and not wanting you to keep a single smile. But in every misunderstanding lies an ever-present concern forever. Who you can count on if all things are against your odd, would that be your family?
3. “Sinful and forbidden pleasures are like poisoned bread; they may satisfy appetite for the moment, but there is death in them at the end.” -Tryon Edwards
Alluring romance strikes between Gio (Gerald Anderson) and Mia as their enticing love for each other has imagined to be there’s no other way out.
It is not the perfect love in every boomy story, a mystery partakes step closer to the big revalation.
Mia takes delight to go after the line. She scatters her ego trip and go after the man of his dreams in trade of her life.
In the climax of the story, Gio did the same sacrifice for Mia. Just like what Olaf (perky snowman in “Frozen” movie) said, true love is putting someone else before yourself.
It’s not greed, fun-flicked stereotpye, but an explicit and genuine feeling for someone.
4. “When connections are real, they simply never die. They can be buried, or ignored or walked away from, but never broken.” -Victoria Erickson
Special people that have touched your life stay in memory no matter what. There’s no ifs and buts, they do embark a personal carve in your heart and the memories you have shared with them are irreplacable, infinite, and impeccable.
A tragic incident of her father’s death forces her to leave Manila and stay with her mother (Ina Raymundo). She still longing for his father’s affection. Memories flashed in through her mind which cannot help her to forget but just to remember repeatedly.
This is a romantic mystery-thriller movie directed by Emmanuel Guindo Palo and produced by Star Cinema.
The film is now on its second week and available in more than 100 theaters nationwide.
Love is the greatest emotion that a man could feel; it is also an emotion that can destroy a person. Will the love she discovers save her or break her?
Star Cinema’s another movie offer for this year is a movie about romance depicting suspense and a bit paranormal. Halik Sa Hangin is a movie topbilled Julia Montes, Gerald Anderson and JC De Vera and opens nationwide last January 28, 2015.
Halik sa Hangin, by comparison, is an intricate mess. It plods deliberately like a leaden love story, before rushing into a finale that feels jarringly out of place. It never let go of the romance even amidst the twists and turns that took the narrative down the route of thrills and tension. Halik sa Hangin grounds its romance on a lot of talk and blabber. The film is drowning in dialogue, which covers almost all of the bases of the film’s blossoming romance. This reliance on spoken expositions to propel the love story leaves very little to the imagination, rendering the romance tepid and unbelievable.
The story evolves in the characters of Mia played by Julia Montes, Gio played by Gerald Anderson and JC De Vera as Alvin. Scenes are beautifully shot alongside the pine trees, luscious greens, and the dark, misty hills of Baguio City.
Story wise, the movie conveys the message of love, forgiveness, letting go, and a toss of paranormal. There seems to be a bit of uncertainty as the reveal comes into play as there sets a moment of confusion on how the story would proceed, however the story picks itself up and sets itself for a grand finale. The ending however, seems to be a compromise of sorts as it falls again into formula.
Technically speaking, there were some issues on editing and technical aspects of the movie. Cinematographer Moises Zee exerts a lot of effort in making sure that the endless conversations are always back dropped with beautiful fog-draped vistas. However, there were also obvious editing and continuity issues in Halik Sa Hangin, Mia’s hair, her mode of transportation, the seemingly shoe box props in the park, the meet the family scene, and the scooter left in the haunted house were all lacking consistency. Though the plot is getting better but the sound effects used in some scenes were not really much needed in the scenes.
The lighting effects were good enough to indicate the ambiance of the film. The cinematography was good enough for the story but it lacks of imaginations being portrayed. The character of Gio played by Gerald Anderson was lacking of suspense. It only gives notion of coldness in the scenes. Everything is wasted on the dull romance and ineffective horror.
To say the least, the movie is a good feeling of blossoming romance, of how the romanticized idea of love can conquer all. Passionate love and a twist of having obsessions in a natural love story but the effects depicting horror twist in Gio’s character is really stereotype. Alvin’s character is cold and subtle. While Mia’s character is compromising. Plot points and twists are prematurely telegraphed, not only because the narrative is all too common already, but also because the characters are visually designed and portrayed by their respective actors and actresses to logically fall a certain anticipated path.
Overall, the movie is a must to watch.
The movie implies the good and bad side of love and how love should sacrifice for your love ones. “Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.” That’s how Halik Sa Hangin describes what love is.
Halik Sa Hangin is still showing nationwide under Star Cinema.
