Two Kapuso teleseryes are rumored to be ending in-not-so-distant-future.
The first one is the drama series Onanay, starring Mikee Quintos, Kate Valdez, Jo Berry, Cherie Gil, and Nora Aunor.
The story revolves around Natalie (Valdez) and Maila (Quintos) who receive different treatment by their mother Onay (Berry) who has Achondroplasia.
In the recent episodes, Natalie’s dislike toward her sister grew even more as she thought that Maila left her after being injured. They were supposed to be friends again, she still can’t help but feel the hate blooming inside her.
Helena (Gil) has taken advantage of the situation and brainwashed her even more to think that Natalie didn’t take care of her.
A teaser video has ended saying, “Sa malapit na pagtatapos ng Onanay…”
The show has been strong in terms of its ratings as it continuously catches up with its time rival, ABS-CBN’s Ngayon at Kailanman.
The second show rumored show to be nearing its end is Pamilya Roces, starring Carla Abellana, Gabbi Garcia, Sophie Albert, Shaira Diaz, and Jasmine Curtis-Smith.
It is said to end anytime soon without even completing its first season due to poor ratings and is even having difficulty beating the rival show’s ratings, which is ABS-CBN’s Halik.
GMA Network has a six-week policy–if a series doesn’t rate well in the first six weeks of airing, the Network will give them a seventh week to pick up but if the show doesn’t improve, the show will suffer the consequence of saying goodbye.

Kapuso star Gabbi Garcia is proud of her flight attendant mother as she posted a video on twitter.
In her Twitter account, Garcia uploaded a video of her mom, Tes Lopez, who has been a flight attendant for 24 years, welcoming her to the plane. She was on the way to Honolulu, Hawaii on August 7 via a the Philippine Airlines.
@_gabbigarcia: So… my mom is part of the cabin crew for today’s flight… and im her passenger.. hahaahahahhh omg
A day after, Garcia posted a photo of her with her mom on Instagram and requested everyone to be nice to flight attendants.
My mom’s been a flight attendant for 24 years. And I’ve always looked up to her. Her job was never an issue when it comes to our family time. Idk how she does it, but she manages to balance everything. Despite her going to places miles away from home, or her messed up body clock, she NEVER missed one special occasion in my life. So to all the FA’s out there, hands down to you guys!! 🙌🏻 P.S. if you’re a passenger, pls be kind to your FA’s… actually to everybody on board. Hindi biro ang trabaho nila
It doesn’t matter if you’re a celebrity or not, as long as you’re in the social media sphere, it’s possible that you may encounter bashing.
Kapuso artist Gabbi Garcia asks about the benefits of online bashing. In a tweet dated July 29, she wrote “how i wish social media is toxic free. I mean what do u get from bashing people huhu, satisfaction? That’s a sad sad life u got there”
Her fans immediately cheered her up and replied with encouraging words such as “Ignore the negativity. All you can do is not let it change who you are. Continue to be a light and a source of inspiration to many of your young supporters.”
Another Netizen reminded her that she shouldn’t mind them because she has thousands of people supporting her.
Answering Garcia’s question, Licensed Professional Councelor Andrea Andrews of Psychology Today explained that hate says everything about the hater and nothing about the hated.
“Hate insists itself upon the world because and only because it refuses to become conscious. Becoming conscious then is the braver act for it means that I can look at myself honestly and ask myself why I am so very afraid of difference that I have to hate it.
“So, all you haters out there: Wake up. This is really all about YOU. “

Have you seen Bench’s latest campaign #LoveLocal?
The Bench billboard located at the end of NLEX near Balintawak Cloverleaf, featuring GMA Network stars Derrick Monasterio, Ruru Madrid, and Gabbi Garcia, became a hot topic on social media last week after netizen Kix Panganiban aired his negative sentiments on the ad.
In his Facebook page, Panganiban pointed out that the Bench ad, which aims to support local merchandise, ironically used statements that seem to imply that “the quoted people are not actually well-immersed” in Filipino culture.
His post made on June 13 quickly became viral and gained almost 12,000 likes and more than 1,500 shares on Facebook. It also gathered hundreds of comments from netizens with the same observation.
Although many agreed with his statement, several netizens slammed Panganiban for his comment. One netizen even accused him of criticising “upper class” Filipinos and failing to recognize that different lifestyles exist in the Philippines.
In February this year, the lifestyle brand’s campaign “Love of All Kinds” also made headlines after the billboard of gay couple Vince Uy and Nino Gaddi showing their hands obscured spread like wildfire on social media.
In a statement, Bench admitted that the controversial billboard was neither defaced nor vandalised indicating that the company purposely released the controversial billboard with hands obscured.
Is this another marketing ploy from Bench? What’s your take on this issue?
