Kapuso comedienne, Maey Bautista, had nothing but praise for the exceptional acting skills of Joshua Garcia, Jodi Sta. Maria, and Gabbi Garcia, all of whom have worked in both the Kapamilya and Kapuso networks.
Maey was impressed by the dedication and professionalism displayed by these three actors during the media event celebrating the conclusion of the series ‘Unbreak My Heart.’
Sharing some behind-the-scenes anecdotes, Maey described an amusing incident during a scene where Joshua Garcia and Jeremiah Lisbo appeared to be in a fight over Gabbi Garcia. PJ Endrinal inadvertently stepped on Joshua’s foot, prompting an unplanned and humorous cry of “Aray ko!” from Joshua, which left everyone on set in stitches.
The comedic actress also recounted a memorable wedding scene that she proudly labeled unforgettable. The cast was prepared for multiple takes, but Jodi, Gabbi, and Joshua executed the scene almost flawlessly, even after numerous takes from various angles. Maey was particularly impressed by their ability to emote at different levels, ranging from level 1 to level 6, which showcased their remarkable acting abilities and their innate capacity to connect with their characters.
Maey further highlighted their remarkable ability to cry on cue, with Jodi exhibiting incredible emotional depth and control. She also commended Joshua’s performance and the intensity he brought to his character.
Lightening the atmosphere with her trademark humor, Maey jokingly asked the cast if they wanted to hear more stories but was quickly interrupted by host Robi Domingo, who referred to her as the “life of the party.” Nikki Valdez, an actress from the series, also chimed in, acknowledging Maey’s infectious joy and her dedication to her on-screen scenes.
Nikki went on to praise Will Ashley, a young Kapuso actor who worked closely with her during the shoot. She described their on-screen relationship as mother and son and talked about how their off-screen connection extended to their time spent together in Europe while working on the series.
Nikki explained that she saw great potential in Will and emphasized that he was “like a son” to her. The young actor reciprocated the sentiment, expressing his happiness and appreciation for Nikki. He stated that he felt at ease working with her and that she had become like a mother to him, both on and off camera.
