Abegail Rait apologizes to Francis Magalona’s first family, affirms separation before affair

In a statement released on her YouTube channel, Abigail explained the reasons behind her decision to reveal the secret she had kept for 15 years.

Abegail Rait, who previously claimed to have been romantically involved with the late Francis Magalona, has issued an apology to his first family.

She asserted that the legendary rapper had already separated from his wife, Pia Arroyo, before their relationship began.

In a statement released on her YouTube channel, Abigail explained the reasons behind her decision to reveal the secret she had kept for 15 years.

She mentioned that the initial criticism and hate comments did not faze her, but things took a different turn when her daughter became the target.

“Okay lang sa’kin na ako na ang pinakamasamang tao sa paningin niyo. Homewrecker, kabit, mistress—lahat na ng adjective na nagamit niyo, tanggap ko. Pero ang pinakiki-usap ko lang sana, wag naman ‘yung anak ko.”

Abegail pointed out the media’s role in creating sensationalized stories and headlines that fueled public anger. She admitted to being human and making mistakes but defended her choice to speak up in defense of her daughter.

She firmly maintained that she did not violate any Philippine laws, as Francis’ marital status was “single” when they embarked on their relationship.

“Dalaga po ako nung naging kami ni Kiko, wala na po sila sa family residence nila for years. And wala po akong naviolate na batas sa Pilipinas dahil single po ang marital status ng partner ko hanggang sa kinamatay niya,” she explained. “Pinaliwanag sa’kin ni Kiko from the start what we are facing. Pinag-paalam niya yan sa mommy ko, sa pamilya ko, sa lola ko.”

As of now, Francis M’s first family has not directly addressed the issue. Frank, his eldest son, appeared to endorse a tweet criticizing Abegail’s revelation, while Maxene, another of Francis’ children, shared a quote about channeling anger into acts of kindness.

Francis Magalona remains an iconic figure in the Filipino hip-hop scene, known for hit songs like ‘Kaleidoscope World,’ ‘Mga Kababayan,’ and ‘Meron Akong Ano.’ He passed away in 2009 after a battle with illness.
