During Jodi Sta. Maria’s press conference for the horror flick, “Second Coming,” that she co-stars with Marvin Agustin, news popped-up that Jolo Revilla, her ex-boyfriend, already has a new girlfriend but Jodi looked happy and totally unaffected.
It was last year when they broke up and it seems that Jodi has already moved on, showing a positive aura. It’s her work that is giving her happiness.
“’Yung gratitude na meron ako sa heart ko ngayon. Na alam mo ‘yun, sobrang dami rin ng mga dumarating na blessing, opportunities, mga tao rin sa paligid ko, parang wala na akong space para mag-complain pa,” she said.
She’s so thankful for all the love she received from her families, friends, and especially from the Lord for the work opportunities that she has.
“I’m just really thankful to the Lord, first and foremost, du’n sa love na binibigay niya sa akin and du’n sa love na nare-receive ko from my families, friends, and you know, ‘yung opportunity sa trabaho,” she added.
One reason of her positivity is to inspire other people. Despite her business and her career, she always makes it a point to attend her classes every Tuesday and Jodi was able finish her college degree in Psychology.
‘Second Coming’ is a comeback vehicle in the genre. Jodi Sta. Maria has starred in horror movies since 2004, with “Maria Leonora Theresa” as her last horror flick.
‘Second Coming’ was two years in the making and is directed by Jet Leyco. It will be showing in cinemas this February 27. Jodi will be also doing the teleserye “Mea Culpa” with Dreamscape Entertainment.
Actress Jodi Sta. Maria just came back from her vacation with son Thirdy Lacson wherein they traveled in Finland and Sweden.
She shared that it was Thirdy’s request to try husky sledding.
“First time kaming makapag-try ng husky sledding and at the same time, we were able to drive a reindeer sled. We were able to get a reindeer driver’s license.”

Just got back from our family holiday. Haha! ❤️ It’s as if time stands still when you watch the snow fall. Mapapa-muni muni ka din sa lamig: Pag makapal na yung snow at hindi ka makalabas, you can either shovel, or make snow angels. Just like in life – When faced with trials, you can grumble about how hard the situation is, or you can keep a positive outlook, see the good, and make the most of the experience. Sana naging maayos at payapa ang Christmas and New Year break niyo para makabalik tayo sa mga trabaho natin ng recharged at inspired. Kayo, kamusta ang pasok ng New Year niyo? ❤️
A reindeer driver’s license is required for an individual to be able to drive a reindeer sled in Lapland. There are only two modes of transportation in the area: ski and the said sled.
Jodi will be a part of three movies. One of which is Second Coming wherein she’ll play as the wife of Marvin Agustin.
“It’s a mix of drama, thriller, and horror. Ano ba ang naghu-haunt sa pamilya ito? Totoo ba itong multo?”
She has also finished filming with Laurice Guillen for the movie Man and Wife.
The third one is Clarita, which is still in the middle of the principal photography.
But aside from that, Jodi has hinted about a Hollywood film that she’s about to be a part of.
“May gagawin tayong international film very soon. Pero wala pa ako sa posisyon to spill the beans.
“But I am really praying about it. Hollywood levels! Masyado akong kinikilig kasi parang hindi ko alam kung paano sila kakaharapin. Baka ma-tongue-tied ako. Baka manganga ako, ma-starstruck ako.”
But for now, she’s back to filming her series Mea Culupa that is set to air this 2019. She’s going to act alongside John Arcilla, Janice de Belen, Bela Padilla, Sandino Martin, Ketchup Eusebio, Kit Thompson, Ivana Alawi, and Tony Labrusca.

Two girls battling over one guy—a classic plot in any soap opera. This time, it’s Jodi Sta. Maria and Angelica Panganiban’s turn to take the spotlight in the funky world of memes.
With the upcoming re-launch of the classic soap, “Pangako Sa ’Yo,” Jodi and Angelica’s memes with their characters as Amor Powers and Claudia Buenavista, respectively, have gone viral all over the digital world.
Pangako Sa ’Yo is a love story repeated in different generations. The story revolves around a love story between Yna (portrayed by Kathryn Bernardo), a housemaid, and Angelo (played by Daniel Padilla), the boy Yna serves.
The story’s prequel is a star-crossed love affair between Yna’s mother Amor, also a maid in the Buenavista household, and Eduardo Buenavista, Angelo’s father. Unknown to Eduardo, Amor was already carrying his child Yna when Amor was driven away from the household. Eduardo had ended up marrying Claudia.
The story is heavily packed with drama and emotional scenes—these scenes, however, have also been the source of great entertainment for some of the actors. Jodi and Angelica were invited to the show Gandang Gabi Vice, hosted by comedian Vice Ganda, and there escalated a barrel of laughs and the two recreated several memes. (Watch the video here.)

The Philippines’ number one daytime drama series “Be Careful with My Heart” is now a certified southeast Asian phenomenon in two countries as it continues to captivate viewers from Malaysia and Vietnam with its light, feel good love story.
The well-loved family series currently enjoys an average of 1.6 million viewers in Malaysia everyday via Media Prima, which is considerably high for a foreign content airing on Malaysian free TV.
Just like Filipinos, Malaysians would share their thoughts to their social media accounts to express how much they adore the romance between nanny Maya (Jodi Sta.Maria) and her boss Sir Chief (Richard Yap). It created such a buzz online that “Be Careful with My Heart” landed in the top ten Twitter trending topics in Malaysia.
Malaysian viewers embrace the series because of its light but engaging plot. They find it unique and just full of good vibes since the story doesn’t have an antagonist unlike the usual soap operas on TV. They are also delighted with the sweetness and politeness of the characters.
From Malaysia, the “Be Careful with My Heart” fever crosses over to Vietnam where it is also a widely-followed Filipino series airing every 7:00pm via Today TV.
According to Lam Chi Thien, the executive chairman and CEO of International Media JS Company, Vietnamese are endeared towards the show because they can relate to its characters and what they represent in society.
“Maya and Sir Chief are very down to earth and they represent the working class in the society,” he said in an interview with the Philippines primetime newscast “TV Patrol.”
“Be Careful with My Heart” is only among the many Filipino dramas made available to international viewers by ABS-CBN International Distribution.
ABS-CBN International Distribution has been recognized in the global arena as a reliable foreign content provider. It has been a premier source of high quality Filipino programming in over 50 territories all over the world and has sold over 30,000 hours of content worldwide. Living up to this recognition, ABS-CBN International Distribution commits to add to its line-up of high-caliber programs and movies with cast and storylines that appeal to various cultures.
