Gabbi Garcia recalls entering singing contests, overcoming rejection

Thankful for those endeavors, she learned how to handle rejection and control her emotions.

Gabbi Garcia thought she wouldn’t be where she is at today if it weren’t for the rejections she’s had in the past.

In a media conference on her latest project, Love On Air, she admitted to being active in entering singing contests and VTRs, which she considered as side hustles.

“When I was younger I used to join different contests, went to VTRs. Yun na ‘yung closes to what I can think of as a racket,” she said.

Thankful for those endeavors, she learned how to handle rejection and control her emotions.

“I learned how to handle rejection because of these things. Natutunan ko paano mag accept ng ‘You’re not fit for this project,’ and how to manage my emotions.” she added.

Her previous project Love You Stranger was postponed which was devastating, but things eventually followed through and she’s grateful for it.

“I was [really] praying ‘Lord please you can just give us one project so that we can be able to do what we love doing.’ ‘Di lang isa, dalawa pa. Very very blessed.

“For this one, grateful kami kasi yung na postpone yung ‘Love You Strange’r medyo may lungkot. So talagang pinagdasal namin na magkaroon ulit,” she shared.

”Stories from the Heart: Love On Air’” is a GMA miniseries that follows the story of an outgoing online seller who falls for a radio DJ.

It is set to premiere on November 29.
