Khalil Ramos no longer “scared” of scuba diving because of girlfriend Gabbi Garcia

“But eventually I was ready nitong last month. And I dove for the first time. It’s such a relaxing hobby or sport, nothing at all to be scared of. You just really have to be prepared with common knowledge for diving para di ka madisgrasya,” he said.

Actor and singer Khalil Ramos is grateful to his girlfriend, Gabbi Garcia, for helping him “conquer” his fear of the “open water.”

In an interview with LionhearTV, Khalil admitted that the open water has always scared him ever since he was young. The sea was never appealing to him so being in a swimming pool was the better option.

“I’ve always been scared of the open water,” he said. “Marunong ako lumangoy pero swimming pool lang talaga yung gusto ko kasi doon ako mas komportable at siguro din ‘di ako masyado na expose sa open water when I was young,” he added.

Growing up, he was told that sharks would get him if he swam in the sea. This also played a part in him avoiding swimming in the open water.

But Gabbi, who loves scuba diving, eventually convinced him to face his fears.

“I eventually had to conquer it dahil yung girlfriend ko ay seryosong taong dagat,” he said.

“Gusto niya ng kasabay sa hobby niya,” he added.

The two met in 2017, and Khalil remembered Gabbi would participate in various activities.

It took him a “long time” to swim comfortably in the open water, but he eventually did thanks to Gabbi.

“Nung 2017 when I met Gab she was very active. Lahat ginagawa niya. Mapa martial arts, diving, so she was way more active than me pero that time yung diving, inuunti unti ko, so whenever we would go on beach trips nag start ako with swimming sa open water comfortably for a long time.”

Khalil then began snorkeling.

“Nag start ako mag snorkel, medyo nagagamay ko na kasi bumababa na talaga ako, “Kahit na snorkeling lang, talagang pinupush ko na yung limits tsaka tumitingin talaga ako doon sa open water, trying to face my fear.”

The couple went scuba diving recently, and the 24-year old found it “relaxing.”

“But eventually I was ready nitong last month. And I dove for the first time. It’s such a relaxing hobby or sport, nothing at all to be scared of. You just really have to be prepared with common knowledge for diving para di ka madisgrasya,” he said.

Now that he has gotten over his fears, Gabbi will finally have someone to scuba dive with.

Khalil was finally able to “tick off Scuba Diving off my bucketlist!!”

“Pagka may time, I’m gonna take the full course para makasabay ko siya,” he said.

“So happy siya na meron na siyang kasabay,” he added.

Khalil signed with GMA Network on October 13, joining Gabbi and officially becoming a Kapuso.

The young actor is excited about new projects, telling his new network that he has no problem working with Thai actor Tay Tawan in a Boy’s Love Series.

The two worked together in 2019 in a Japanese reality game show called Find The Wasabi in Nagoya. The show allowed both to be close to each other.

“Tay is actually a very good friend, we’ve been keeping in touch after Finding The Wasabi, a show we did in Japan.

“Naging close kami despite the language barrier pero actually he speaks quite good English and medyo nagkakaintindihan naman kami.

“We have a lot in common, he loves photography as well. He loves coffee, too,” Khalil said.
