Regine Valesquez’s recent signing with ABS-CBN is one of the most talked about topics this week.
After a month of staying mum about her network transfer, she has been emotional as soon as she stepped inside the premises of the Kapamilya network.
She’s not the only icon that moved from GMA-7 to ABS-CBN. Her husband, Ogie Alcasid, has also transferred, along with others like Janno Gibbs, Jaya and Lani Misalucha.
Here’s the growing list of former Kapuso artists that decided to switch networks in the past:
After being in GMA-7 for more than a decade, Richard officially became a Kapamilya a little more than a year ago. He became a part of Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo‘s fantasy series La Luna Sangre. He is also set to star in a movie with Angel Locsin and Angelica Panganiban.
Louise delos Reyes
Prior to transferring to ABS-CBN, she had numerous appearances in GMA-7’s TV shows. When she moved to ABS-CBN, her first project was becoming a part of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano as SPO3 Katrina Velasco.
Considered as GMA’s former primetime star, Angel shocked everyone with her decision to change her home network. She has starred in Star Cinema films such as One More Try, Everything About Her, and The Third Party. She has also led the primetime hit The Legal Wife and became one of the judges for Pilipinas Got Talent. She has renewed her contract with ABS-CBN in 2015 and has made an appearance in La Luna Sangre.
She will star in the network’s upcoming series, The General’s Daughter.

More than a decade ago, Jake has moved from GMA-7 to ABS-CBN. He has been cast in numerous dramas like Maria Mercedes, Rubi, and Palos, wherein he played the main lead, and Ikaw Lamang and Tayong Dalawa as the antagonist.

Ellen signed with ABS-CBN last 2013. She admitted that her transfer to the network made a huge impact regarding the recognition she got.
“When I was with the other network, ‘What are you doing now? What are your shows?’ ‘Uh, I’m a part of this show.’ ‘Ay, nandoon ka pala!’ Ibe yung audience ng ABS-CBN talaga. Iba yung impact.”
Toni has hosted in GMA-7 for seven years until 2005. She continued her career with ABS-CBN, venturing to acting and music. She has released six albums under Star Records and has starred in 11 Star Cinema films.
She has also continued hosting with The Buzz, Pinoy Big Brother, and The Voice of the Philippines.
His first project with the Kapamilya network was the TV series Born for You, wherein he was paired with Janella Salvador for the first time.
Just like her brother, Maxene was also a Kapuso turned Kapamilya, however, she actually started off in ABS-CBN in 1992 with Ang TV. She was then identified with GMA-7 for nine years before signing up with ABS-CBN in 2016.
Karylle has co-hosted GMA-7’s SOP for seven years. She is currently in It’s Showtime.
Anne was a Kapuso until 2003. She has lead Kapamilya shows such as Kampanerang Kuba, Maging Sino Ka Man, Dyosa, Green Rose, Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw, and Dyesebel.
She can be seen regularly in noontime show It’s Showtime.
Liza has previously admitted that she “didn’t feel at home” in GMA-7, wherein she became an artist for only a week. She added that as ABS-CBN’s the one she always watches, it’s really where she wanted to work in the first place.
After winning Pinoy Pop Superstar, Jona has been one of GMA-7’s most promising singers. She then joined the trio La Diva.
She made a shocking transfer to ABS-CBN in 2017, saying that the network gave her more trust and has promised her a line-up of projects.
Yassi has spent almost a decade with GMA-7 and TV5 before making her way to ABS-CBN. She has become a household name after appearing in Pinoy Big Brother and becoming a part of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
Jay R spent the first decade of his career as a Kapuso artist. In 2015, he opened a new chapter of his life with ABS-CBN when he appeared as a contestant in Your Face Sounds Familiar.
Jaya decided to leave GMA-7 after she concluded her final project with the network, Poor Señorita. Her appearance in It’s Showtime in 2016 marked as her surprising decision to switch networks.
After being out of the limelight when he left GMA-7, Ogie has been with TV5 for a while before returning to ABS-CBN, where he did a few shows in the 90s.
He became a judge of Tawag ng Tanghalan and talent show Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids.
Kyla stayed as a Kapuso for 15 years before she moved to ABS-CBN.
Aljur was a GMA-7 artist for nearly a decade before deciding to be a Kapamilya. Only six months after his move to ABS-CBN, he already top-billed his own series Asintado.
He has also appeared as a guest in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
Needing some freshening up, Janno made a switch and signed with Star Music, wherein he’s currently promoting his latest single, Feeling JKL. He has also appeared in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano and other ABS-CBN shows.

It’s been nearly four months since Ellen Adarna gave birth to her son with actor John Lloyd Cruz, Elias.
On October 1, John Lloyd uploaded a photo of a poem dedicated to Elias titled “Mga Ibon.”
The couple have made the pregnancy and birth private but last month, the actor uploaded a video containing a smiling photo of a baby who is allegedly Elias.
John Lloyd Cruz and Ellen Adarna have been taking a break from the showbiz industry for almost a year. It is still unclear as to when the two will make a comeback.
The couple was last spotted in a party. They were reportedly with a baby, which was speculated to be Elias.
In spite of celebrities being watched 24/7, some of them can still keep things without the public noticing anything. It can be as little as a scar that can be covered by any makeup or as big as a pregnancy that the public would feast upon.
Here are a few celebrities that have children you may not know about in the past:
Phoemela Baranda was 19 and had a busy modeling career when she got pregnant with her daughter, Kim. All her life, Kim thought that Phoemela was her older sister and she only found out about the truth when she was already 11 years old.
Sarah Lahbati and Richard Gutierrez
Last 2013, the word got around that Sarah Lahbati was pregnant with her child with Richard Gutierrez. The couple gave no confirmation as they flew to Switzerland. They first showed their son to the public in their reality show ‘It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez’.
Back in 2011, actor Derek Ramsay found out that he has a son named Austin. Austin is his son with estranged wife Mary Christine Jolly.
Marjorie Barretto is the mother of Dani, Julia, Claudia, and Leon. Her eldest is her child with Kier Legaspi. On the other hand, Julia, Claudia at Leon are her children with her second husband, Dennis Padilla.
Aubrey Miles admitted last 2014 that she has a son named Maurie. When asked about the reason on why she kept him as a secret, she answered “Noong time na ‘yun kailangan fresh ka. Mas sisikat ka. Siyempre sa mga endorsements mo gusto nila single ka, hindi ka mom.”
Inigo Pascual was all grown-up when he was introduced to the public by his father, Piolo Pascual. Inigo is currently following his dad’s footsteps as he’s trying his luck in the showbiz.
Last March 16, Liz Uy, a famous celebrity stylist revealed that she has a son named Xavi. In one interview by Preview, she said that “Every time I do anything, I think of Xavi first.”
Ellen Adarna and John Lloyd Cruz
There have been speculations that Ellen Adarna is currently pregnant with her child and the rumored father is the actor John Lloyd Cruz. Although there hasn’t been a confirmation just yet, last June 19, the two were spotted at Chong Hua Hospital in Cebu for an alleged prenatal check-up.

Controversial videos of John Lloyd Cruz have been spreading like a wildfire on the internet, and people are not pleased with it. In the said video, John Lloyd was acting bizarre, dancing in a weird manner.
It was a series of videos taken by Ellen Adarna’s friend @doreenting on Instagram. Ellen and the One More Chance actor are rumored to be having a romantic relationship.
Until the two confirms what’s going on between them, we can never assume anything. The two great actors are old enough to do everything they want. Let’s just be happy for them. For the meantime, here’s a list of reasons why John Lloyd Cruz’ recent behavior is just normal and people need not get alarmed.
You have experienced it, for sure. If not, you probably have seen a friend that’s so drunk, and it is normal to act like that. You’re under the influence of alcohol, and you tend to be half conscious of your actions. John Lloyd got drunk, he had fun like how you would feel after a joyful feast with a beer.
Guys, he’s 34 for fries sake. He is just doing what a normal 34-year-old does. Having a good time with great friends, running away from all the problems for just one night. For sure, he’s just escaping all the stress his job had caused him. Imagine, what would you feel if you’re old enough and people judged you for doing a normal thing? You feel it, yeah? Same thing with JL.
It’s absurd for people to ask apology from John Lloyd just because he was caught drunk on tape. Seriously, people? We all have that one embarrassing moment we wished never existed. Did people ask you to say sorry for it? He doesn’t exist just to please everyone, you should know this, it’s as cliche as this. We’re so lucky that JL expressed his apologies so that people can stop. Happy now?
Again, he’s 34. He knows what he’s doing. He knows a good company and also the bad ones and choosing to have fun with Ellen and her friends is all up to him. You can never accuse the 29-year-old actress of something she did not intentionally do. Ellen was known for being carefree and people liked her for that. She went on a trip with JL, and they had fun. Is there something wrong with that?
We get it, he’s super famous, influential and people look up to him. But he’s human, he is not a supreme being. He does what people normal do, and it’s not right to pressure him to be as good as you want him to be. No one likes that, do you?
We cry impossible. Well, here’s a thing, if he was convicted of using drugs, that’s the time we should be alarmed. But was it confirmed? Are there reports saying that he is guilty?
Until then, again, we can never assume. Let’s use common sense. Think of this as hypothetical. If JL is really high at that moment, do you think that someone close to him will take a video of what really happened?
C’mon, his recent endeavors do not reflect on his craft. People who discredit his line of work just because he was seen drunk and naive, are insane. He is a great actor, one of the best, and that should stop there. No buts and no ifs. You cannot question his dedication on what he does just because you have seen the other side of him.
It’s also good to be vulnerable in the eyes of many, this is to gauge who really love and respect him. In the end, those who know him wont even care. Everyone makes mistake and no one is entitled to step on his toe just because he did such act. Puritan minds must stop, as it will never help. period. Let’s cheers to that!
We’ll leave it here, okay? It’s up to you now.

She did not reveal further details, but said that Olbes knew the reason of their break-up. Adarna also said that there was no third-party involved in their failed relationship.
Baby maker wanted?
According to Inquirer News, in a recent interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), Adarna told the press that in three years time, she wants to have a baby and that her parents even support her for it.
Alam niyo naman na gusto ko lang magkaanak, even my parents know that. I told them na in three years’ time, I like to have my own baby na, and they said they will support me.
Aside from her lack of interest in a serious relationship, Adarna also mentioned that she will just focus on her career for the moment.
May mga nagpaparamdam, pero wala muna, iba ‘yung priorities ko right now. Siguro, for now, I would like to concentrate on my career and ‘tsaka na ulit ‘yung love.
