Jonathan Garcia a.k.a Chokoleit, a well- known comedian in the industry, died last Saturday after his performance in the celebration of the Kawayan Festival in Abra.
After his death, netizens posted the last performance of the comedian in reminiscing their laughter with him. But some of them considered his last performance was a “premonitions” because of what he mentioned during his performance.
He said, “Siyempre ako ang mauuna, kung ako ang huli baka hindi ko na kayo aabutan.”
There were a lot of netizens who got chills over that statement that no one had ever expected it would happen in reality.
Chokoleit’s last words are chilling. Still can’t believe how life just passes by. Hope this helps us appreciate life and our loved ones. RIP.

Noticeably, during his performance, Chokoleit was having difficulty in breathing. And one of the netizens said that the comedian cut short his skit because of his cough.
He also mentioned that netizens always took pictures of him but he never saw them uploaded.
“Picture ng Picture hindi naman ako naniniwala dyan, ang dami nagpipicture jan wala naman akong nakitang nagupload.”
But now, due to his death, his pictures and videos will all be uploaded all over social media.
Kapansin-pansin na rin ang kanyang pagkahingal at kapos sa paghinga during the perfomance pero the show must go on at naitawid pa rin nya. For the last time he gave his last and remarkable performance! #RIPChokoleit

During his last moments, after his performance, according to JM De Guzman who was one of the performers on the event, all he thought was that Chokoleit was tired because of his performance before he was brought to the hospital.
“Not his usual self na parang jolly… inisip ko parang baka pagod lang or feel down,” said De Guzman.
“Pero at the same time I know he’s in a safe place, happy place,” he added.
Pops Fernandez, another performer on the same event can’t believe over Chokoleit’s death as she recently had a conversation with him.
“Sabi ko, ‘Kumusta ka na?’ sabi niya, ‘I’m in a good place right now saka nakaipon na ako, Ms. Pops’ so sabi ko ‘I’m happy happy naman for you,” shared by Fernandez.
Condolences from celebrities for the comedian has spread over social media.
One of his friends, comedian Vice Ganda, thanked the Lord for giving him a chance to meet him.
“Thank you, Lord for giving me a chance to meet Chokoleit and become his friend. I’m sad that we lost him, But happy that he’ll be in a much peaceful and happier place now with you. Thanks for everything Chokie. I love you!,” Vice Ganda.

Angel Locsin had nothing but kind words to the director of The General’s Daughter, Manny Palo.
During the press conference of her first ever teleserye under Dreamscape, for her prime time comeback after a few years of hiatus, she shared what’s it like to work with Palo as a director.
“Si Direk Manny Palo kasi is brilliant. Ang swerte namin na nagkaroon kami ng direktor na alam niya kung anong gagawin. Siya kasi yung kaya niya kaming i-control lahat. Kasi kahit anong sabihin namin sa kanya, memorize niya yung script so hindi namin siya maloloko.”
Locsin added that because the director knows what he is doing, they often finish their taping schedules on time.
“Alam niya yung gagawin niyo sa bawat eksena kaya ang bilis bilis din niya mag shoot. Natatapos namin yung schedule namin. Plus ang gaan din niya ka-trabaho.”
The actress then addressed her remark that director Palo is a “terror” on the set, saying that others may only view him that way maybe because he had a bad day or someone did something wrong. However, she thinks that he’s really kind and caring.
“Sabi ng iba terror daw si Direk Manny. Siguro pag may mali ka, ganon. Or siguro, bad day lang si direk pero he’s really nice. Actually ang bait ni direk. At maalaga siya sa mga tao. “
She even admitted that the cast sometimes makes fun of the director whenever he gets angry.
“Minsan pinapagtawanan namin pag nagwawala siya pero part niya na yun eh. Parang hindi pwedeng hindi eh. Boring. Boring yung set. At umpisa palang sinabi niya ‘walang diva sa inyo ha, ako lang ang diva,’ kaya siya lang ang diva ganon. “
On the other hand, Locsin admitted that her character on the series is her most complicated role thus far. She has also praised her co-stars.
“Masasabi ko na I think eto yung pinaka-complex [and] complicated na character na gagawin ko. Mahirap po siya. Actually mga characters po namin, mahirap gawin. Pero fun, kasi yung mga ka-eksena ko po ang gagaling umarte so nakakakuha po ako sa kanila ng emosyon.”

Jerrold Tarog‘s ‘GOYO: Ang Batang Heneral‘ has won praise from both critics and audiences as it tackled history with a different approach.
But it seems that not everyone liked the movie.
Senior Deputy Minority Leader Jose “Lito” Atienza Jr. accused the film of “historical inaccuracy” as it was said to have portrayed Filipinos as cowards during the Battle of Tirad Pass.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, he added that he actually expected the movie to be as good as the director’s previous movie, ‘Heneral Luna.’
“Inspirasyon ko ‘yang si Gregorio del Pilar. The country’s youngest general died protecting [then president Emilio] Aguinaldo from the oncoming American forces. He chose Tirad Pass to make a stand.”
In the movie, Del Pilar (Paulo Avelino) is portrayed as a young military officer full of doubts but fiercely loyal to the Philippine president to the point of hunting down Aguinaldo’s perceived enemies.
The film follows the events of the last 5 months of Del Pilar’s life until his death at the Battle of Tirad Pass.
Atienza said that he was annoyed that the movie did not do justice to Del Pilar’s death, to the point that he wanted to leave the cinema.
“Del Pilar died a hero. Sa accounts sa history books, sugatan na ‘yan, sumakay pa sa kabayo niya para ipakitang ang Pilipino handang mamatay.
“Sa movie, hindi siya nakasakay sa kabayo. He was killed by a sniper. Sabi ko: ‘P***ang pelikulang ito.’ Kinalabit ko misis ko, sabi ko ‘Alis na tayo.'”
He also described that as soon as Del Pilar died in the movie, the Filipinos were like scared rats. “Parang mga dagang pinapatay ng mga Amerikano…
“We need historical heroes and modern-day heroes to emulate. Film as a medium is one of the most effective media that could influence the character of our young. E bakit pinagmumukha mo na duwag ang mga Pilipino? Hindi tayo duwag. Never naging duwag ang Pilipino sa harap ng giyera, fighting the Japanese, the Spanish, even the Americans.
“Kung gagawa tayo ng historical film, kung kailangang mag-adjust nang kaunti, dagdagan niyo pa ang kabayanihan. Hindi ‘yung karuwagan.”
Historian Xiao Chua, one of the researchers of the film, encouraged Atienza to read more history books like the Teodoro Kalaw biography, to know more about the Battle of Tirad Pass.
Chua explained that Del Pilar’s death was based on the recollections of two people that were there at the Tirad Pass, Vicente Enriquez and Telesforo Carrasco.
A book by Carrasco said that Del Pilar did not see the enemy “because of the cogon grass and that he ordered a halt to the firing.
“At that moment, I was handing [del Pilar] a carbine and warning him that the Americans were directing their fire at him and that he should crouch down because his life was in danger and at that moment he was hit by a bullet in the neck that caused instant death.”
The historian then called Del Pilar’s dying on a horse “fake news.”
“That is an embellishment of an American journalist in the time of yellow journalism. They wanted to sell newspapers and they wanted to make ‘Goyo’ appear romantic and all.
“Even the scene where the fighters ran away after Del Pilar’s death are in the accounts…Aside from embellishments, everything, including Apolinario Mabini’s description of the republic, is historical record.”
Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral has been showing since September 5 and people have been buzzing about it.
It revolves around the story of the youngest General during the Philippine-American War, Gregorio “Goyo” del Pilar, who is played by actor Paulo Avelino.
While it earned mostly praises, there was one minor error that not everyone seemed to notice.
The award winning director of the film Jerrold Tarog took to his social media accounts to admit the mistake.
He admitted that in the opening text of the film where it says Goyo “stayed in Bulacan” should have been Pangasinan. To avoid confusion, he promised to change it in future copies of the film.
Erratum: Sorry, folks. I screwed up a little in the opening text of GOYO. At the part where it says Goyo “stayed in Bulacan from June to October” that should’ve been Pangasinan obviously. We’ll fix this in future copies of the film.✌
He explained that the error slipped through the cracks during the end of post-production. Even after they’ve seen the film numerous times, they still failed to notice it.
Things got switched up near the end of post-production. We’ve seen the film a hundred times but this slipped through the cracks. Thanks to those who pointed it out. @lyrerook @IrishDDizon ❤️
Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral is still showing in cinemas nationwide.
Not everyone knows this but Paulo Avelino is currently on the early stage of his game streaming career and it’s really not going well as expected it should be. The actor/model was said to have experienced sexual harassment from Twich users while playing the online game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
The actor was bombarded with indecent and below-the-belt sexual comments in the midst live stream. Twitter user who goes by the display name Pio Fronda (@_justinepio) tweeted about the incident and attached a handful of screenshots of the obscene and downright vulgar comments.
The user also thought about the situation being reversed wherein it would be men making creepy comments to a lady gamer.
Paulo Avelino went live streaming today and this happened. Now imagine the messages below being told by a guy to girl streamers:
“Ate sarap mo.”
“Unli putok basta ikaw.”
“I’ll fuck you mommy.”
“Marami pa yan, but you get the point.”
The comment section got too intense and out of hand that one of the admins of the website had to step in multiple times stopping everyone from commenting inappropriate words to Paulo.
“Guys, favor. Please show some respect for our poging streamer, can we do that? Just try to avoid saying inappropriate words or things in his channel. Thank you so much!”
Paulo Avelino started producing gaming content in his streaming channel early last month and now has 70 videos and 4,847 followers on the website. It is unknown if he has experienced this kinds comments in the past but it’s the first time that it has been brought in the open.
The situation may or may not have unsettled people but the call out can also be a sign that there is indeed something is wrong with how sexual harassment is handled whether it’s on or off the online community.
