Despite the Network Rivalty, ABS-CBN have always opened its doors to the Kapuso artists to cross over and let them promote their projects.
GMA-7 stars have visited the Kapamilya network even for a brief time as most of them made guest appearances the Network’s shows in order to promote movies where they co-star with an ABS-CBN talent, or was c0-produced by Star Cinema.

He is set to co-star with Vice Ganda in Fantastika. He frequents in Tonight with Boy Abunda and Magandang Buhay.

Celebrities are often watched out for their skills and projects, but one of the most important things that they should also prioritize is their fashion sense. As individuals being closely watched or even scrutinized by the public eye.
It is unavoidable that these stars are criticized on their fashion choices especially in the age of social media.
Here are some of the most talked about and most controversial clothing pieces that celebrities wore at some point of their careers:
1. Devon Seron
Devon Seron wore a red plaid polo and skirt in a promotional mall show for her film Walwal. She did not escape the criticisms as a Netizen criticized her outfit was a ‘fashion disaster’.
Devon reacted and said that the most important thing is how one sees herself or himself. She also added that she was sick that day but she felt pretty amazing wearing the said outfit.
2. Vicki Belo
Netizens zoomed-im on Vicki Belo‘s dress at her daughter, Cristalle Belo’s wedding in Italy. Comments repeatedly described her dress as something that’s similar to a bed sheet.
3. Kim Chiu
Actress Kim Chiu and designer John Herrera once had a miscommunication because of a gown that was supposed to be worn by the actress at the 66th FAMAS awards night.
According to reports, the designer made a Php100,000 gown for her to wear for the special occasion but the arrangements didn’t push through. Herrera expressed his disappointment and stated that his team couldn’t even enter the village where Kim Chiu lives resulting in her not being able to fit the gown.
The problem died down when both sides tweeted saying that they want to ‘move forward’ and leave the issue behind.
4. Maggie Wilson
Miss World Philippines Maggie Wilson got into an argument with a Netizen regarding her OOTD during a trip in Jordan. The Netizen asked if her outfit was appropriate considering that Jordan is a Muslim-dominated country.
Maggie defended her outfit saying that even if 85% of the population there is Muslim, no one actually cares what one wears. She also added that she respects the people, culture, and rules in every place she visits.
5. Billy Crawford and Coleen Garcia
Netizens and artists alike poked fun at Billy Crawford and Coleen Garcia‘s Ethiopian inspired pre-wedding photo shoot for a magazine. Its pattern resembled various things like pillows and bags of ordinary people.
The couple was also criticized as many thought that their outfits in the said photoshoot were culturally inappropriate.
6. Solenn Heussaff
Solenn Heussaff didn’t stop herself from answering a basher, who scrutinized her choice of outfit while trying to get a good tan under the sun.
7. Senator Nancy Binay
Senator Nancy Binay‘s outfit at the 2014 State of the Nation Address generated a large number of viral memes. Netizens posted their own take on Binay’s dress. Some of the most popular posts compared it to a hot air balloon, to a Datu Puti vinegar packaging, and to Shriek’s wife, Fiona.
8. Maria Isabel Lopez
Many criticized actress Maria Isabel Lopez back during the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. She was accused of being a ‘scene-stealer’ as she got more attention in the red carpet compared to the film director Brillante Mendoza and lead star Jaclyn Jose, because of her bright colored and eye-grabbing emerald green gown. She, later on, apologized to the director and her co-stars, explaining that she did not intend to steal the spotlight away from them.
She was wearing a gown that was designed by Albert Andrada.
9. MJ Lastimosa
Miss Universe Philippines Mary Jean Lastimosa‘s national costume at the 2014 Miss Universe was heavily criticized. It drew flack from the netizens as they stated that it looked cheaply made and was compared to a birthday cake from Goldilocks.
10. Maine Mendoza
The most controversial of all is probably the issue of Maine Mendoza‘s Tamang Panahon gown that resulted in a lawsuit filed by stylist Liz Uy to fashion blogger Michael Sy Lim.
The issue started when people pointed out that Maine’s gown was the same gown as Kim Chiu wore at the 2013 Francis Libiran Metrowear Icon Fashion Show. In an official statement by the designer Francis Libiran, he stated that “We are so glad, honored, and grateful that Maine Mendoza and her official stylists, Stylized Studio, Inc., chose a beautiful Francis Libiran dress from our Spring/Summer 2015. Maine Mendoza’s gown at Eat Bulaga’s Tamang Panahon concert for a cause was bought and paid for by Eat Bulaga Production.”
In Liz Uy’s 24-page complaint submitted to the court, she cited Lim’s tweets and blog post regarding his entries at the website Fashion Police, criticizing her for making the artist wear a “recycled” gown and a “hand-me-down” Gucci jacket at one of Maine’s magazine photoshoots.
Liz Uy filed cases of online libel and grave slander against Michael Sy Lim.

The stars have finally collided as respected showbiz and social media personalities compete with each other in the recently-concluded Golden Fiesta Heart Healthy Camp held at the Track 30th in BGC last November 26, 2017.
A fun-filled Sunday morning was catered by Golden Fiesta for their successful Celebrity Camp. Stars were teamed up in a holistic fitness program to kick off the second leg of Golden Fiesta Heart Healthy Camp. Power couple Solenn Heussaff and Nico Bolzico led the battles with a team of their own.
The personalities included were; former Philippine Azkals player Anton del Rosario and his fiancée, fashion designer royalty Sam Richelle, Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Ong, Mr. World Philippines 2016 Sam Ajdani, volleyball superstar Rachel Daquis, actress Maricar de Mesa, Miss World Philippines 2015 Hillarie Parungao, model-mom Angel Jones, singer-actress Ana Roces, and model June Macasaet.
They went through extensive workout challenges and the perseverance is really evident on their faces. In the end, the Nico Bolzico-led team prevailed as the winners of the face-off. It was a friendly match, after all.
The camp was set up as early as five in the morning for interested runners to join. Yes, the event was open to the public. Stations were deployed at the camp and the participants need to surpass all of it to get a special surprise from Golden Fiesta. I, too, got the chance to experience some of the stations and boy, it’s not a walk in the park.
The camp was not designed only to promote an active lifestyle, but also to spread the fact that what you eat reflects on your health as well. You might be gym fit, but it doesn’t mean you are nutritionally healthy. Nutritional imbalance can be an effect of wrong cooking oil usage. Golden Fiesta is here to let the public know that choosing the best one can help you achieve that healthy body.
“It is a great opportunity for you to evaluate your lifestyle and initiate positive changes, including making the right food choices. After all, it’s an event made possible by heart-healthy Golden Fiesta Canola Oil,” Cart Constantino said, Category Marketing Manager of NutriAsia.
It’s the holiday season again and I’m sure you’re already preparing your gift wishlist. If I got that correctly, might as well I share you an exciting new way of letting your family and friends know what do you want to receive for Christmas or any other occasion.
Admit it, even if we know people more than they know themselves, when it comes to gift-giving, our thoughts go blackout. We always say they have everything already. Uhmm.. I know, nonsense. They will always have their gift list, but we are just too shy to ask.
And yes, I have quite a solution for that.
Introducing the Things I Like mobile application. An app created by a tech company based in Hong Kong has finally solved the puzzle. Things I Like aims to let people interact more with each other by posting pictures of what they want to have for their birthday, for Christmas, or for no reason at all.
This is an effective platform for those who struggle with what to give to a certain person or on the other hand, for your friends and family to know what you want for a gift.
Well, if you’re thinking it’s a complicated app, you’re wrong. It’s as easy as 1-2-3. You just log in via email or you can enter by using your Facebook account.
Voila, here’s what your profile will look like. This will set as the dashboard of all the things you want to get for a specific feast.
And your news feed. Here, you will see the things your friends post on their wall–the gifts they want to receive.
If you want to share what you like, you can repost the things you see on your feed or you upload a photo of it yourself.
After, choose a category. This is typically what occasion or when do you want that gift to be given to you.
For ideas, you can check the ‘Shuffle & Search’ tool where you can find at the bottom left. You can modify the settings in which you can see the posts that have the ‘Most LIKES’ and ‘Most REPOSTS’.
The other good thing about this app is that if you’re a fan of any celebrity we have right now, you can finally know what they want to have. Many celebrities have been using this app for months now. Georgina Wilson, Solenn Heussaff, Pia Wurtzbach, Liza Soberano, Enrique Gil, Rhian Ramos, the most celebrated one Nadine Lustre, and many more.
What are you waiting for? Install now!

Lenten or Holy Week is always part of summer. So while a large group of people trying to go and book to beaches and have their vacations, others enjoy staying home and meditating God’s sacrifices on Holy Week.
Lenten traditions handed down through generations, including the “panata,” where one commits himself to a certain activity including but not limited to visiting churches, abstaining from eating meat or drinking alcohol, organizing a pabasa, self -flagellation, even self-crucifixion. Most Filipinos are now ready to do their Lenten commitment every year.

Also, we don’t eat meat, lahat seafood lang for that specific week and we pray and go around Churches to do the Visita Iglesia and station of the cross.

By now, you have probably have seen all sorts of versions for the viral #PaintTheirHandsBack campaign for the gay couple’s picture of Bench’s “Love All Kinds Of Love”. You have probably said your piece about the issue or even painted the couple’s hands to join the campaign.
But with so much going on in this campaign, some people are questioning whether Bench had just faked the controversy so the ad will create a buzz [and the company will be the talk of town for days, of course].
It was deemed perfect for Valentine’s Day. Bench created a compelling ad celebrating all kinds of love. There was the platonic love between a grandmother and her grandson [Gloria Romero and Chris Gutierrez], between a heterosexual couple [Nico Bolzico and Solenn Heussaff], between a lesbian couple [Carla Peña and Ana Paredes], and between a gay couple [Nino Gaddi and Vince Uy].
The move was received with much pleasure by the LGBT community who had always struggled for acceptance in the Philippines.
StyleBible posted a photo of the “undefaced” ad; though blogger FinanceMD claimed this was merely an artist’s concept but was not a real photo of the billboards.
With the billboards standing several feet tall, it was hard not to miss the blackened hands of the gay couple. Naturally, the ad board was the one who was blamed for the censorship because 1) why would Bench blacken their own ad and 2) the billboards were so high and so huge that even Banksy [a famous graffiti artist] would have a rather difficult time painting on those gigantic hands.
People noticed the blackened hands, of course, but it was art director Rob Cham who sparked the campaign when he drew Mickey Mouse hands over the blackened part of the photo. He hashtagged the angry tweet with #PaintTheirHandsBack, something which quickly caught on. Twitter users soon had the hashtag trending. They also posted their own versions of the drawing.
The Fake Controversy?
FinanceMD was not sold to the idea that it was either the ad board or a vandal who painted over the gay ad. He pointed out how the ASC (Ad Standard Council) adamantly maintained they had no hand at censoring the ad.
This is the statement of ASC executive director Mila Marquez:
We are always adhering to prevailing moral and social standards of the country. We believe advertisements should not be offensive, derogatory nor should [they] alienate certain sectors of the community.
This particular series was not blurred by ASC. We were surprised they blurred it… Possibly because they think they will be given approval if they do that.
We had discussion with them particularly because they put up the billboards without clearance to display. If at all, they were given approval to produce it. If ever there is violation, the violation is more procedural than conceptual.
The ASC is not a censorship body. What we’re promoting is self-regulation, meaning clients and ad agency are the ones who should also regulate themselves.
Even ASC’s director believes it was Bench who painted over the hands of the gay couple. After all, just as FinanceMD had pointed out, the ad was too high and too large that it would take special equipment and a “truckload of paint” for a vandal to do the job. Would an ordinary vandal have the means to do that? And it’s not as if the ad was shocking and very offensive.
So, was it really Bench who faked the controversy to create a buzz? Unless someone would admit to defacing that ad and then tell us how he did it without getting noticed, then this question would always be stuck in our minds.
