You will never know when will be your last.
Jonathan Garcia a.k.a Chokoleit, a well- known comedian in the industry, died last Saturday after his performance in the celebration of the Kawayan Festival in Abra.
After his death, netizens posted the last performance of the comedian in reminiscing their laughter with him. But some of them considered his last performance was a “premonitions” because of what he mentioned during his performance.
He said, “Siyempre ako ang mauuna, kung ako ang huli baka hindi ko na kayo aabutan.”
There were a lot of netizens who got chills over that statement that no one had ever expected it would happen in reality.
Chokoleit’s last words are chilling. Still can’t believe how life just passes by. Hope this helps us appreciate life and our loved ones. RIP.

Noticeably, during his performance, Chokoleit was having difficulty in breathing. And one of the netizens said that the comedian cut short his skit because of his cough.
He also mentioned that netizens always took pictures of him but he never saw them uploaded.
“Picture ng Picture hindi naman ako naniniwala dyan, ang dami nagpipicture jan wala naman akong nakitang nagupload.”
But now, due to his death, his pictures and videos will all be uploaded all over social media.
Kapansin-pansin na rin ang kanyang pagkahingal at kapos sa paghinga during the perfomance pero the show must go on at naitawid pa rin nya. For the last time he gave his last and remarkable performance! #RIPChokoleit

During his last moments, after his performance, according to JM De Guzman who was one of the performers on the event, all he thought was that Chokoleit was tired because of his performance before he was brought to the hospital.
“Not his usual self na parang jolly… inisip ko parang baka pagod lang or feel down,” said De Guzman.
“Pero at the same time I know he’s in a safe place, happy place,” he added.
Pops Fernandez, another performer on the same event can’t believe over Chokoleit’s death as she recently had a conversation with him.
“Sabi ko, ‘Kumusta ka na?’ sabi niya, ‘I’m in a good place right now saka nakaipon na ako, Ms. Pops’ so sabi ko ‘I’m happy happy naman for you,” shared by Fernandez.
Condolences from celebrities for the comedian has spread over social media.
One of his friends, comedian Vice Ganda, thanked the Lord for giving him a chance to meet him.
“Thank you, Lord for giving me a chance to meet Chokoleit and become his friend. I’m sad that we lost him, But happy that he’ll be in a much peaceful and happier place now with you. Thanks for everything Chokie. I love you!,” Vice Ganda.

Regine Valesquez’s recent signing with ABS-CBN is one of the most talked about topics this week.
After a month of staying mum about her network transfer, she has been emotional as soon as she stepped inside the premises of the Kapamilya network.
She’s not the only icon that moved from GMA-7 to ABS-CBN. Her husband, Ogie Alcasid, has also transferred, along with others like Janno Gibbs, Jaya and Lani Misalucha.
Here’s the growing list of former Kapuso artists that decided to switch networks in the past:
After being in GMA-7 for more than a decade, Richard officially became a Kapamilya a little more than a year ago. He became a part of Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo‘s fantasy series La Luna Sangre. He is also set to star in a movie with Angel Locsin and Angelica Panganiban.
Louise delos Reyes
Prior to transferring to ABS-CBN, she had numerous appearances in GMA-7’s TV shows. When she moved to ABS-CBN, her first project was becoming a part of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano as SPO3 Katrina Velasco.
Considered as GMA’s former primetime star, Angel shocked everyone with her decision to change her home network. She has starred in Star Cinema films such as One More Try, Everything About Her, and The Third Party. She has also led the primetime hit The Legal Wife and became one of the judges for Pilipinas Got Talent. She has renewed her contract with ABS-CBN in 2015 and has made an appearance in La Luna Sangre.
She will star in the network’s upcoming series, The General’s Daughter.
Isabelle has been a Kapuso for three years before signing up with ABS-CBN in November 2014. Her first project as a Kapamilya is the upcoming series Nathaniel.
After 10 years with GMA-7, she transferred to its rival network in 2012.
She expressed her thankfulness to her previous company and why she made the decision to move to ABS-CBN. “I’m grateful for all my years with [GMA-7], but [my father] was the one with me in wanting new things for me and my career. He wanted me to spread my wings and fly.”
More than a decade ago, Jake has moved from GMA-7 to ABS-CBN. He has been cast in numerous dramas like Maria Mercedes, Rubi, and Palos, wherein he played the main lead, and Ikaw Lamang and Tayong Dalawa as the antagonist.
Not everyone knows that Cristine’s entry to showbiz has been with GMA-7’s artista search program, Starstruck.
She transferred networks 10 years ago and has top-billed several projects such as Eva Fonda, Kristine, Reputasyon, Tubig at Langis, and I Can Do That.
Paulo has been with GMA-7 for five years before becoming a Kapamilya. He has served as the male lead in shows such as The Promise of Forever, Honesto, Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon, Kahit Konting Pagtingin, and Bridges of Love.
JC de Vera
JC has stayed as a Kapuso for six years then transferred to TV5. He finally became a Kapamilya in 2014 and played a role in The Legal Wife and Moon of Desire.
Ellen signed with ABS-CBN last 2013. She admitted that her transfer to the network made a huge impact regarding the recognition she got.
“When I was with the other network, ‘What are you doing now? What are your shows?’ ‘Uh, I’m a part of this show.’ ‘Ay, nandoon ka pala!’ Ibe yung audience ng ABS-CBN talaga. Iba yung impact.”
Toni has hosted in GMA-7 for seven years until 2005. She continued her career with ABS-CBN, venturing to acting and music. She has released six albums under Star Records and has starred in 11 Star Cinema films.
She has also continued hosting with The Buzz, Pinoy Big Brother, and The Voice of the Philippines.
His first project with the Kapamilya network was the TV series Born for You, wherein he was paired with Janella Salvador for the first time.
Just like her brother, Maxene was also a Kapuso turned Kapamilya, however, she actually started off in ABS-CBN in 1992 with Ang TV. She was then identified with GMA-7 for nine years before signing up with ABS-CBN in 2016.
Karylle has co-hosted GMA-7’s SOP for seven years. She is currently in It’s Showtime.
Anne was a Kapuso until 2003. She has lead Kapamilya shows such as Kampanerang Kuba, Maging Sino Ka Man, Dyosa, Green Rose, Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw, and Dyesebel.
She can be seen regularly in noontime show It’s Showtime.
Liza has previously admitted that she “didn’t feel at home” in GMA-7, wherein she became an artist for only a week. She added that as ABS-CBN’s the one she always watches, it’s really where she wanted to work in the first place.
After winning Pinoy Pop Superstar, Jona has been one of GMA-7’s most promising singers. She then joined the trio La Diva.
She made a shocking transfer to ABS-CBN in 2017, saying that the network gave her more trust and has promised her a line-up of projects.
Yassi has spent almost a decade with GMA-7 and TV5 before making her way to ABS-CBN. She has become a household name after appearing in Pinoy Big Brother and becoming a part of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
Jay R spent the first decade of his career as a Kapuso artist. In 2015, he opened a new chapter of his life with ABS-CBN when he appeared as a contestant in Your Face Sounds Familiar.
Jaya decided to leave GMA-7 after she concluded her final project with the network, Poor Señorita. Her appearance in It’s Showtime in 2016 marked as her surprising decision to switch networks.
After being out of the limelight when he left GMA-7, Ogie has been with TV5 for a while before returning to ABS-CBN, where he did a few shows in the 90s.
He became a judge of Tawag ng Tanghalan and talent show Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids.
Kyla stayed as a Kapuso for 15 years before she moved to ABS-CBN.
Aljur was a GMA-7 artist for nearly a decade before deciding to be a Kapamilya. Only six months after his move to ABS-CBN, he already top-billed his own series Asintado.
He has also appeared as a guest in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
Needing some freshening up, Janno made a switch and signed with Star Music, wherein he’s currently promoting his latest single, Feeling JKL. He has also appeared in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano and other ABS-CBN shows.

Regine Velasquez‘s welcome presscon as a Kapamilya was held on Wednesday, October 17, and the singer can’t contain her excitement with all the possibilities in her new network.
She shared that she has signed for two years with ABS-CBN and said that she will join Sunday variety show ASAP as well as have a musical sitcom with her husband, Ogie Alcasid, and actor Ian Veneracion. She will also be one of the judges of the upcoming Idol Philippines.
The Asia’s Songbird also expressed her interest in making a special appearance in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano with Coco Martin. She then added that it’ll be an honor to be a part of the show as it’s one of the most popular series of this generation.
“Oo naman. Kasi ‘te, sino bang walang may alam ng Probinsyano?
“Kahit saan, Probinsyano talaga, e!”
She then shared an interesting incident when they went to the United States. “Noong nagpunta nga kami ng States, hindi nga nila alam yung show ko, e!
“Tapos noong binanggit ko yung Probinsyano, nagsigawan sila! Mga bastos din itong mga ‘to, e!”
Regine then added that she’s happy for Coco and the success of his long-running action series and compared his popularity to Lito Lapid‘s level during his time.
“Pero I’m so happy for Coco, even though he doesn’t know me personally.
“You can see how hardworking he is as a person, as an artist. And I know, I’ve been hearing things about him that they love working with him because he’s a good… he directs, tapos magaling siyang katrabaho so hahangaan mo talaga.”
“Alam mo ba, natutuwa ako na ginagawa ng Probinsyano, yung binabalik nila yung mga dating action stars, malaking bagay yun. Kasi yung mga millennials, nakikita nila like si Lito Lapid.
“E, noong araw, sikat na sikat yun. Superstar yun noong araw. Tapos parang siguro kasi dream niya rin to work with them, I don’t know. Talagang sinasama niya nakakatuwa.”
The Asia’s Songbird has recently signed an exclusive contract with ABS-CBN Network and it got people asking the reasons behind her decision.
In her welcome press conference last Wednesday, October 17, Regine Velasques has revealed some of the details why she decided to transfer networks after being a Kapuso for 20 years.
1. There are not enough leading men in GMA.
In a report made by Pep.ph, Cacai Velasquez, who is the singer’s sister and business manager, revealed that there’s actually a scarcity of potential leading men in GMA Network.
“Kunwari yung pag soap, sinong puwedeng i-partner? Yung ganun ba?
“In terms of project, nali-limit din. You’re limited to the characters also kasi yung leading man, medyo kapos.”
2. Regine’s decision was not because of the talent fee but to explore more opportunities.
Cacai also said that it was not about how much the talent fee is anymore, but because Regine wants to work with other artists and have more opportunities.
“Nothing to do with the TF [talent fee] anymore… eto yung decision niya na nothing to do with the TF anymore. It was a factor before but ang talaga sa kanya is to work with other artists, yun talaga.”
GMA-7 also released a statement saying that they respect the singer’s decision to join her husband in ABS-CBN and pursue other opportunities in another network.
“We understand her decision to join her husband and we wish her well as she pursues other opportunities outside GMA Network.”
3. To work with ABS-CBN’s artists.
With Regine’s ABS-CBN transfer, she is now free to work with some of the network’s biggest stars.
When asked who she’s looking forward to having a project with, she named Piolo Pascual, Aga Muhlach, Morisette Amon, Robin Padilla, and one of her best friends Megastar Sharon Cuneta.
4. Her interest on returning to the big screen.
Regine then told reporters about her excitement about exploring projects like opportunities to star in movies and to work with her husband Ogie Alcasid.
“I’m excited kasi ang Star Cinema nandiyan lang, so, siyempre gagawa rin tayo ng pelikula.”
She also showed interest to be partnered with Jericho Rosales, Sam Milby, and Coco Martin.
5. To collaborate with OPM Icons.
Aside from singers who were also from GMA-7 like Janno Gibbs, Lani Misalucha, and Jaya, Regine is also looking forward to collaborating with Kapamilya singers.
She said that she’s looking forward to working with vocalists in ASAP, especially Sarah Geronimo.
“I’m so excited because I get to work with Sarah. Alam niyo naman kung gaano ko kamahal si Sarah. Plus I get to work with other singers in ‘ASAP.'”
6. ABS-CBN has a lot of mediums for artists like Regine to offer
From print (books, magazines) to records (Star Music) to movies (ABS-CBN Films), teleseryes and many more. ABS-CBN also has a lot of produced shows locally and abroad which will widen her reach as an artist.
7. Wants to experience being with #1 TV Station in the Philippines
Regine wanted to work with ABS-CBN and called the network ‘number one.’
“Yun talaga yun, na bago man lang matapos yung career ko, masabi kong nakatrabaho ko din ang number one station.”

Just under a month after Janno Gibbs has signed a contract with Star Music, Lani Misalucha went back to ABS-CBN with a recording contract under its musical arm.
Lani has revealed that her new music would be different from those she has previously released with the company. The Asia’s Nightingale added that the plan is to bring her forthcoming all original global pop sounding album to an international and younger audience.
“Kung naaalala niyo ‘yung last album ko, The Nightingale Returns, collection po ‘yun ng mga best loved OPM classics, ano? This time naman, gagawin naman po namin lahat ng songs in English. Kasi lahat po ‘yung last ko ay puro in Tagalog. So this time naman, all in English. Pero siyempre po ang gagawa rin po ang ating mga local songwriters, composers. This time lang po meron kaming bagong i-ooffer dahil mas bago, mas current, mas young.”
On the other hand, Star Music Executive Jonathan Manalo said that this is not the only thing that supporters should look forward to. He revealed that as she is set to mark her 50th birthday celebration, she is set to release singles, an album, and will stage a major solo concert.
“Siyempre magsisimula ‘yung promotions kung saan siya nakabase – sa Las Vegas. Then sa LA kung ano ang pwedeng maging partner namin dun. Actually, marami naman kaming kinakausap na partners lalo na sa music. Dahil lumiliit nang lumiliit ang mundo natin, talagang pa-global ng pa-global na rin talaga ‘yung reach nang Filipino artists. And siyempre ‘yung isang pioneers natin na talagang naging international ay ating Nightingale. Why not i-maximize pa natin ‘yung pwede niyang gawin sa international stage? ‘Yung music video dun namin isho-shoot, isasama namin sa set list sa Vegas show niya ‘yung mga original songs niyang gagawin.”
Lani has also expressed her excitement about working with other OPM icons such as Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid, and Jaya.
After 20 years with Kapuso network, Regine Velasquez, billed a Asia’s Songbird has finally moved to Kapuso network’slong-time rival–ABS-CBN Kapamilya network and signed an exclusive contract today, October 17.
Her transfer has been rumored for weeks until she finally announced her participation in the ASAP Live in Sydney concert that is set to happen on October 20.
A red carpet was rolled out in front of ABS-CBN to welcome her, as employees cheered on upon her arrival in the station’s building.
Among those who waited for her is her husband, Ogie Alcasid, who also transferred to the Kapamilya network ahead of her.
ABS-CBN executives were also in attendance, namely President and CEO Carlo Katigbak, Chief Content Officer Cory Vidanes, TV Production Head Laurenti M. Dyogi, and business unit head Deo Endrinal. The station’s bigwigs immediately gave Velasquez-Alcasid a hug as soon as she got off from her car.
She expressed her feelings about the transfer, saying that she’s happy and excited as well as overwhelmed while she wiped off her tears.
In an Instagram live prior to the signing of contract, she said thank you to all her fans that kept on supporting her.
“Thank you sa inyong lahat, sa lahat ng nagtatanggol, katawa. Thank you! This is another chapter in our lives. I’m very excited, I’m very nervous.”
In a statement released by GMA’s Senior Vice President for Entertainment Lilybeth Rasonable, it said that the network understands Regine’s decision to join her husband.
It can be remembered that the singer almost transferred to the Kapamilya network 10 years ago. In 2008, Regine admitted that she was interested on leaving GMA 7 to do the remake of I Love Betty La Fea. She even got emotional when she was saying her supposed farewell to the network in one episode of SOP.
The plan did not push through as she signed her first exclusive contract with the Kapuso network, months after the said farewell.
It has been a while since the rumors of Regine Velasquez’s network transfer started and it hasn’t died down since.
Asia’s Songbird has been said to leave GMA Network a handful of times in the past, however, the rumors appeared once again as her husband, Ogie Alcasid, officially signed with ABS-CBN.
People started to question if the speculations are true when Regine liked a comment on her Instagram post, asking if what she’s wearing is for ABS-CBN’s Sunday noontime show ASAP.
Pang-ASAP na po ba yan?
Although it still remains unconfirmed, an article in PhilStar stated that some GMA executives are not fine with the decision of the singer. As rumors escalate, a number of netizens have reacted negatively to the network-change buzz.
One Twitter user said that it’s really just about money.
Napirata na…. Pera pera talaga laban. Wala ng loyalty. Hahahah. Goodluck songbird. D na lang kita mapapanood. Still a fan though
@encaswift also chided Regine’s lack of loyalty to the network.
Loyalty was lost.
@Graciagara19 questioned why GMA artists tend to transfer to the rival network.
@Shookira_Bitch pointed out the Kapuso network’s considerations regarding the singer’s decisions. The netizen proceeded to call her “spoiled.”
When @reginevalcasid got pregnant, @gmanetwork was so understanding of her, lahat ng gusto sinunod lahat spoiled sya kasi nga she’s The Regine Velasquez. But the songbird wants more after ABS denied they wanted her to play Betty La Fea, short memory lang????!
When someone contradicted the tweet, the Twitter user continued to accuse Regine of dishonesty and told her not to come back to the Kapuso network.
Artists come and go, Network stay. Talent sya she’s being paid by the network. My point is… inalagaan sya pero hindi naging honest sa process… pwede naman syang gumawa ng pelikula sa SC and still be loyal! Ganun
Everyone who transferred to ABS is looking for growth… eh di Goodluck sa kanya. Yun lang. I won’t argue anymore coz this is me… I’m after loyalty wag na syang babalik sa GMA pag hindi na sya pinakinabangan ng ABS. Ok!!! Ciao!
