Dingdong Dantes calls out Youth Commission’s Ronald Cardema for filing a petition to be a party list substitute nominee

Dingdong Dantes calls out Youth Commission’s Ronald Cardema for filing a petition to be a party list substitute nominee

  • Dingdong Dantes spoke out on social media about NYC Chief Ronald Cardema filing a petition to be a substitute nominee
  • Dantes said that if Cardema had intended to run for Congress, he should have resigned earlier
  • National Youth Commission should not be tainted with politics as an advocate for the youth

Former commissioner of the National Youth Commission Dingdong Dantes spoke out on social media about NYC Chief Ronald Cardema filing a petition to become a substitute nominee for the Duterte Youth party list group.

“Clearly, if the petition will be granted, parang na-railroad ang democratic process of choosing the rightful representative,” he said.

In 2014, Dantes took his oath as Commissioner-at-Large for the National Youth Commission that lasted for three years under the administration of President Benigno Aquino III.

Cardema who was appointed as NYC Commissioner in 2017 recently filed to become a substitute nominee for his wife Ducielle Suarez Cardema. Suarez is the first nominee of the Duterte Youth party list which earned 346,314 votes based on the partial and unofficial results.

In the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) first statement on Thursday, May 16, said that they would not entertain Cardema’s petition because the period for filing of substitutions had already lapsed. But then on Saturday, May 18, the COMELEC clarified that the bid for substitution was still up for the poll body’s resolution.

On Sunday, May 19, Malacanang ordered Cardema to vacate his post as NYC Chair even as the COMELEC had yet to release a decision on his substitution bid.

Because of this news update, Dantes said that if Cardema had the intention to be a Congressman, he should have resigned earlier.

“Kung may balak siyang maging Congressman noong una pa lang, nararapat lang na nag-resign siya bilang NYC Chairman,” Dantes continued. “Pwede bang nagising na lang siya isang araw at nag-decide na trip niya? Maaari kasing nagamit ang ahensya upang magkaroon siya ng unfair advantages noong kampanya. Malinaw din naman ang batas kontra partylist na tumatanggap ng kahit anong support o may koneksyon sa gobyerno.”

He also said that the National Youth Commission should not be tainted with politics since it is the voice and the biggest advocate of Filipino Youth.

At the end of his message, Dantes said to Cardema: “If you really want to serve the young people, you are already in the best position to do so.”

3. De Rossi Sisters

When Assunta de Rossi married Congressman Jules Ledesma in a civil wedding back in November 2002, no family member of hers attended the ceremony. Admittedly, she and Alessandra de Rossi had fissure in their relationship, giving the other a silent treatment.

However, it all came to pass when Assunta’s family finally attended her wedding with Jules, this time in a church ceremony in March 2004. Alessandra was the maid of honor.

4. Mother and Daughter, Cecilia and Heart

It was well-known how Heart Evangelista’s parents, especially her mother Cecilia Ongpauco, were against her wishes to marry Senator Chiz Escudero. They did not attend her wedding back in February 2015 in Balesin.

5. Mother and Sons

Jackie Forster has always been referred to as the estranged mother of teen stars Andre and Kobe Paras. After almost 12 years, Jackie and Kobe met again last January at Los Angeles. She also met with Andre when she visited the Philippines last April.

It turned out that they have been contacting each other through chat and video calls.

Love Triangles:

6. Gal Pals

Kim Chiu and Maja Salvador have been the best of friends until news came out that Kim’s ex-boyfriend Gerald Anderson was in a relationship with Maja.

In an interview back in October 2015, Kim revealed that her friendship with Maja is being mended piece by piece.

7. Three is a Crowd

One of the biggest controversies before was the sudden break-up of sweethearts Dingdong Dantes and Karylle, when the former became entangled with his on-screen partner Marian Rivera.

Years later, Marian and Karylle were seen in the same event in which both greeted each other with kisses in the cheek.

Truly, time heals all wounds.

8. Barretto family feud

Sisters Gretchen and Claudine Barretto have been estranged for years due to a bitter family feud. Earlier this month, the two met for dinner, fueling speculation that they have managed to finally patch their relationship up.

Anne Curtis, Dingdong Dantes, other celebrities react to the bill lowering criminal liability to 9 years old

Anne Curtis, Dingdong Dantes, other celebrities react to the bill lowering criminal liability to 9 years old

  • Celebrities expressed their disapproval of bill that lowers criminal liability to nine years old.
  • This includes reactions from Bianca Gonzales, Anne Curtis, Dingdong Dantes, Jim Paredes, and Bullet Dumas.

The House of Panel has approved the bill that lowers the minimum age of criminal liability from 15 years old to 9 years old. This has sparked outrage not just from netizens, but also from known showbiz personalities.

Celebrities have expressed their opinions on the move by the government which has drawn dismay and disapproval by many.

Television host Bianca Gonzales may not have tweeted anything regarding the topic, but she has retweeted a message by Carlo Pamintuan stating that jailing 9-year-olds “will not do anything” because the children are just forced to commit the crime due to poverty.

It’s Showtime host Anne Curtis has directly expressed her opposition towards the bill saying that the news saddens her as the kids still have a chance to change their ways.

Another host from It’s Showtime and musician Teddy Corpuz shared a two-part video of kids who experienced law under the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act in 2006.

Actor Dingdong Dantes has agreed to the statement of Atty. Chel Diokno. He added that the children are at the age wherein they are strongly influenced by the adults around them.

He also suggested that the government should focus on creating an environment that will make the youth productive members of the society.

Jim Paredes has described the news as “disgusting”.

He has also questioned the statement of Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo who said that the criminals nowadays are the minors that were used by former delinquents because they grew up that way.

OPM arist Bullet Dumas shared a photo by Plcpd Foundation, Inc. stating that “children are not little adults”.

Posted by Bullet Dumas on Sunday, January 20, 2019

Justice panel chairperson Salvador Leachon justified the bill, clarifying that it is only to protect the children from being used by syndicates.

Mystica seeks help again; this time to the Tulfo brothers

Mystica seeks help again; this time to the Tulfo brothers

  • Mystica held another facebook live to ask for help from the Tulfo brothers.
  • She opened up about how some people victimized her in the past and treated her like she was a fool.

After asking Coco Martin, Michael V, and Dingdong Dantes for help regarding her intention of having a comeback in showbiz, Mystica (also known as Ruby Villanueva) seemed to have failed to convince the two other male personalities to help her; now she turned to the Tulfo brothers for help.

As her drama did not work with Michael V and Dantes, she held a 40-minute facebook live to call the attention of the brothers.

“Sir Raffy. Lahat po ng Tulfo bothers,” Mystica said while weeping. “At kung sino-sino pong lawyers na tumutulong sa mga biktimang katulad ko, cyber-bullying, libel, hindi ko na po kaya.”

The former singer clarified that she did nothing wrong and she’s just using social media to ask for help to have her television career back.

She also addressed her past controversy wherein she cursed President Rodrigo Duterte in a video.

“Matagal po akong tumahimik. Matagal na po akong nag-sorry dahil sa isang pagkakamali ko at nag-mura ko nun dahil sa pangyayaring pinatay ang tatay ko nung kapanahunan ng martial law. Ibinuhos ko lang naman po ang feeling ng isang anak…”

Mystica shouted that she has suffered so much because of people making fun of her, but is still hoping that someday, others will take pity on her and help her get back on track.

“At bakit niyo ipagkait sakin yun? Milyones na panglalait sa pagkatao ko. Tiniis ko lahat yun. At pinakita ko na lumalaban ako dahil ito ay karapatan ko.

Pero ano ginawa niyo? Dinurog niyo yung kakapiranggot na karapatan ko. Pinag-laruan niyo ako. Binaboy niyo ang pagkatao ko. Niloko niyo ako.”

She then demanded justice from those who deceived her in the past.

  • Michael V. reacted to Mystica’s request for her be part of Bubble Gang.
  • The comedian said that the final decision is still in the hands of GMA Network.

After two weeks of Mystica‘s appeal and calling the attention of comedian and television personality, Michael V., has clarified that he does not have the power on who to accept as a member of sitcom, Bubble Gang.

On Sunday, December 2, he tweeted a message, addressing Mystica’s request.

He stated that as much as he want to make other people a part of his shows such as Pepito Manaloto and Bubble Gang, the final decision still lies with the Kapuso network.

The comedian made the statement after almost two weeks of being silent.

Mystica’s appeal.

In a series of Facebook posts, Mystica has requested the help of Michael V. to make her a mainstay in the gag show.

She wept while sharing her feelings in her videos. The 90s singer said that she thought that Coco Martin would be the key to her comeback in showbiz but the latter was accused of disowning her by killing her character off in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.

“Nananawagan po ako kay Michael V. Sana po ampunin niyo na ako. Akala ko kasi aampunin na ako ni Coco Martin pero tinakwil po ako. Hindi lang po ako tinakwil, pinapatay pa ako. Ikaw na lang po ang pag-asa ko para masabi kong may nagmamahal sa akin.”

  • Dennis Trillo admits surprise over decision.

It was recently revealed that FPJ’s Ang Probisyano Director Toto Natividad will be a guest director for GMA Network‘s upcoming action-drama primetime series Cain at Abel starring Dennis Trillo and Dingdong Dantes.

When asked about how he felt, Trillo answered that it was ironic and surprising.

“Well, napaka-ironic, pero ganoon talaga ang buhay. Minsan, gugulatin ka na lang.”

Although unexpected, the actor said that he’s still glad that the director will take part of their project.

Dingdong Dantes suggests the creation of a new and inclusive government body

Dingdong Dantes suggests the creation of a new and inclusive government body

  • Dingdong Dantes tweeted about a suggestion for new Departments in the government.
  • He also expressed his opinion about the mandatory pregnancy test of Pine City Colleges.

Upon 10 senators’ urge to push through with the creation of the Department of Culture, actor Dingdong Dantes suggested a more inclusive government body.

Specifically the Department of Youth, Culture, and Sports.

How about a Department of Youth, Culture and Sports?

This is good because our industry (movie and tv) will fall right under this Department, therefore giving more teeth and authority to implement the long overdue reforms. 👍🏻

He then stated his opinion about Baguio City’s Pines City Colleges’ policy of conducting mandatory pregnancy tests for female students. He said that it is a violation of a human being’s privacy and the Magna Carta for Women.

Despite the College’s intention to protect the health of its students and their child, and to contribute in resolving teenage pregnancy in the country, this act remains to be a concrete violation of the basic right to privacy and of the Magna Carta for Women.

He said that imposing limitations to pregnant students are discriminatory.

Imposing enrolment limitations and sanctions to non-compliant students found out to be pregnant are discriminatory.

Dantes then supported the Commission on Higher Education and women’s rights advocates who are investigating on the matter.

I hope that the school management will review the implications of the said memorandum, and I support the Commission on Higher Education along with other women rights advocates who are looking into this case.

He also urged the National Youth Commission to study the case.

I also hope that the National Youth Commission @NYCPilipinas will follow suit especially that this concerns young women.
