Teddy Corpuz asks, #NaDturtleKaNaBa?

It’s Showtime host Teddy Corpuz asked his followers if they have been “Dturtled.”

  • The term was coined as a hit on President Duterte’s 5th State of the Nation Address.
  • It means being deceived or being a victim of an unkept promise.

It’s Showtime host and musician Teddy Corpuz came up with a new term that means being deceived, misled, or be a victim of an unkept promise.

In a series of tweets, he criticized President Rodrigo Duterte on social media by asking his followers if they have been “Dturtled.” The term, along with “the turtle” became recent trends on Twitter to refer to the President without directly mentioning his name.

It popped up in the wake of the widely criticized anti-terror law which many fear could be weaponized against legitimate concerns and criticisms.

Corpuz used #NaDturtleKaNaBa in several examples of expectations being let down.

He also stated a pizza delivery service fail as an example.

“Sabi nang pizza store 30mins dadating order mo. Money back guaranteed, pero mag iisang oras na wala pa rin. Di pa binalik bayad mo,” he wrote.

“Sabi sa phone nanalo ka nang trip to Paris for two. Pag claim mo nang prize mo sa Makati… networking pala amp#%*. #NaDturtleKaNaBa.”

Corpuz then referenced the President’s 2016 pronouncement of fighting for the West Philippine Sea against China and his State of the Nation Adress 2020 where he described himself as “inutile” when it comes to the situation.

He has also been vocal about his disappointment regarding President Duterte’s recent SONA.
