Celebrities express their gratitude towards the country’s health sector

Various personalities thanked the health professionals who are continuously working hard to help the public.

  • President Rodrigo Duterte failed to acknowledge the health sector of the country.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation in the country is getting worse and the panic set in as President Rodrigo Duterte declared the start of a community quarantine in Metro Manila in a press conference on March 12.

But the President missed the opportunity to acknowledge the health sector that is putting themselves in the line of danger just to protect, inform, and help the public amid the spread of the virus in the country.

With this, celebrities and netizens alike lauded the hardworking professionals.

Luis Manzano said thank you to the health workers, scientists, and cleaners for “trying to keep the country safe and healthy.”

Television host and personality Bianca Gonzalez retweeted Manzano’s post calling the professionals as our “modern-day heroes”.

Musician Jim Paredes expressed his disappointment regarding the President’s failure to acknowledge the health sector who has been on the frontline when it comes to the battle against COVID-19.

“Sadly, Dut did not acknowledge nor thank the frontliners (docs, nurses, lab technicians, etc.) last night. He put more emphasis on trusting the military and China,” he wrote.

This was after the President thanked the Chinese government during his address. He also mentioned that he would call on China for help if the CONVID-19 situation in the country gets worse.

Senator Risa Hontiveros also shared the same sentiments.

“Instead of thanking China,I’d like to thank our health workers who have been at the frontlines against COVID-19.”

Actress Agot Isidro also expressed her respect and gratitude towards health workers.
