Rescued stray dog saves life of woman facing depression

Dogs are really man’s best friend for so many reasons.

This was the case for a woman from Ohio who said a stray dog she found last year has ultimately saved her life.

Twitter user maison_white9, who posted a video of herself together with her dog, said the canine was still a puppy when she found him “on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere.”

She said no one reported a missing dog so she took him home and her life has not been the same since.

“A year ago I was in a dark place and kept praying that God would give me a sign. Exactly a year ago today (November 18), I found a puppy on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere,” she wrote.

“That day I didn’t just save him, He saved me,” she added.

Playing Shawn Mendes’ “Never Be Alone” in the background, the video showed maison_white9 happily spending time with her new best friend.

The dog can be seen staying beside her, playing and walking with her and snuggling right up next to her on the bed or the sofa.

Both of them appeared to enjoy a close connection with each other.

It seems that the dog has shown maison_white9 how every day, ordinary things make life worth living.

The dog also appears to bring some joy, peace, and comfort to her.

An expert said a pet, such as a dog or cat, offers company that lessens the feeling of isolation or loneliness.

According to animal lover and psychotherapist Mike Verano, a pet also provides a distraction from pain, stress or boredom.

Petting or snuggling with a soft, friendly animal can also release endorphins that have a calming effect, he added.

Maison_white9’s tweet immediately went viral with more than 539,000 likes as of this writing.

The post has also been shared over 94,000 times.
