Super Tekla expresses his opinion about SOGIE bill; Other celebrities share their side

That’s it. Sarili niyong gastos.”

  • Super Tekla said that he also gets stared at whenever he enters the men’s public bathroom.
  • Though understanding of the discomfort, he stated that there are so much more important problems in the Philippines than the issue about restrooms.
  • Other celebrities state their stand regarding the SOGIE Bill.

Super Tekla explained his opinion on the SOGIE Bill (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and Expression Equality), including the latest issue about LGBT people being disrespected at public restrooms.

In a recent interview, he was asked about his opinion on the topic as a straight man who crossdresses for a living. He said that if only people had respect for one another, it wouldn’t be that big of an issue.

Tekla added that he also experiences discomfort whenever he enters the public restroom and men would stare at him.

Habang umiihi, tumitingin, tapos iiwas.”

Though he added that he knows how it feels to be weirdly looked at, he was fortunate enough to have most of them just laugh it off, especially when they recognize him as Super Tekla.

When asked if the LGBT community should have their own restrooms, he answered, “For me kasi ang dami nang problema ngayon eh. On my how kasi… hello ang daming nagugutom na Pilipino.

That’s it. Sarili niyong gastos.”

Ricky Reyes’ Anti-SOGIE Stand

Recently, known celebrity stylist Ricky Reyes expressed his side when it comes to the SOGIE bill. He stated that gays will always be gay and they should stop aspiring to be other people.

Ako nung this year lahat ng LGBT nilikom ko sila lahat.

When it comes to the SOGIE Bill, he said that people should just accept their sexuality and know where to put themselves.

Other Celebrities’ Opinion About the SOGIE Bill

In one interview, actor Marco Gumabao shared his support towards the SOGIE Bill. “Honestly ako okay lang,” he said.

He said added that it’s because people should be treated equally as we’re all equal at the eyes of God.

“Because we all know now na ano, we all know now na this SOGIE bill it’s very ah, it’s a sensitive topic. And ako ah, siyempre who wants to get discriminated right?

“We’re all, lahat tayo dito pantay pantay, pantay pantay tayong lahat ng tao. We’re all created in the likeness of God and pantay pantay tayo [crineate], so para sa akin if I, okay ako sa SOGIE because it’s ano, it ahmm, sinasabi nila na wag tayo magdiscriminate ng kapwa natin Pilipino so I’m all for that.”

Comedian Vice Ganda also expressed his support for the SOGIE Bill after Senate President Tito Sotto made his controversial statement, saying that the bill is against women’s rights.

“Joke po ba ito Hon. Senate President Tito Sotto?” Vice began.

In one online post, talent manager Ogie Diaz shared his thoughts about the bill and the ongoing restroom issue. He said that the LGBT community should be allowed to go to whichever bathroom they prefer as long as they won’t disrespect the people inside.

He then added that the community should stop demanding for LGBT exclusive restrooms.
