There are some celebrities who endorse politician during the campaign period which can influence the voters to choose the candidates because of their favorite celebrities.
Some of the netizens wonder if these celebrities are voluntarily endorsing the politician or they are just being paid.
On May 8, the actor and talent manager Ogie Diaz gets frank on his Facebook post regarding celebrities endorsing politicians in the upcoming midterm elections. As for him, one or two appearances may be free but for those who are always present in most of the campaigned, he believed that they are paid.
Diaz also said regarding those celebrities who appeared on political advertisements that some of them showed support for free but some were also paid especially when the candidate believes the celebrity could help them garnered more votes; it really depends on the celebrity.
At the end of the day, celebrities can support their candidates at the same time they are earning.
“Well, depende yan. Pero at the end of the day, mas masarap mag-endorso ng kandidatong gusto mo na, kumita ka pa.”
Diaz is also Liza Soberano’s talent manager; he also mentioned that there were a lot of politicians asking for Liza’s endorsement.
“Dami nag-aalok. Laki pa ng offer,” he said. “Pero siguro, hindi pa sa ngayon. Baka someday or sa next election.”
On his post, he also mentioned his owned senatorial bets which included lawyer Florin “Pilo” Hilbay, Samira Gutoc, Chel Diokno, and Bam Aquino, as well as Dr. Willie Ong and Neri Colmenares.

Roger Díaz-Pandaan also known as Ogie Díaz is a Filipino comedian, actor, and show business reporter.
In the past, the comedian sarcastically joked about when the president get a toothache so he could stop his insensitive joke.
Ogie Diaz commented after the President’s brand of humor during his speech.
President Rodrigo Duterte told ‘tambays’ to feel free to rob and kill members of the clergy.
On his beef with Mocha, a co-founder of the group Mocha Girls, that when push comes to shove he is willing to stand by the President’s decisions.
“‘Pag may katigang decision, sinabe o ginawa sya, nandiyan ako para sumaludo” as he did on his Facebook post praising the president for his achievement in rehabilitating Manila Bay.
This is what he has to say after Manila Bay’s restoration
“Ayan.

In an open letter to Kris Aquino, Ogie Diaz has advised her to take a break from the social media platforms and take care of her health first.
Aquino has been on a social media battle with brothers Jesus and Nicko Falcis over a case she has filed against the two gay brothers.
In Diaz’s letter, he said that the actress should not stress herself with the issues right now because it will kill her, not her illness.
He added that all the check-ups are useless if she continues on minding things about the controversy.
Diaz also admitted that her bickering with Falcis is getting tiring and as she already brought it to court, he hopes that she would let it be.
He ended his letter with an amusing last message.
“PS… Sana, makinig ka na, huhuhu!
Ogie Diaz shared his opinion over Kiray Celis‘ transfer from ABS-CBN to GMA Network.
In his Mama Ogs Say Facebook post on December 24, the writer and talent manager shared his thoughts about timely subjects including Kiray’s network transfer, the Metro Manila Film Festival, and even the godmothers and godfathers who hide from their godchildren when it’s Christmas season.
He said that he sees no problem with Kiray’s signing with GMA-7 because that doesn’t chang who she is.
“Okay lang naman. Pagbali-baligtarin man ang mundo, Kiray Celis is Kiray Celis. Just like Anna Dizon is Anna Dizon.”
Ogie also shared his fearless forecast regarding the MMFF entries.
Followed by “Puliscredibles” nina Vic Sotto at Coco Martin, then tie ‘yung “Aurora” ni Anne Curtis at “Rainbow Sunset, then “Orange Dress” nina Jericho at Jessy Mendiola.
He then gave advice to the godparents who hid from their godchildren this Holiday season, saying that instead of not showing themselves, they should just tell the truth.
He also admitted that he, too, has a lot of godchildren then shared circumstances that he faced in the past regarding the giving of gifts.
By then siguro, close na tayo.'”
On September 27, President Rodrigo Duterte stated that his only sin is the decision to do the extrajudicial killings for his war against drugs campaign.
“Ako, I will talk to a political exercise now. What are your sins? Ako? Did I prosecute na pinakulong ko?
After the President received criticisms regarding his statement, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque and Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo immediately came to his defense, saying that it was only a joke and a mistranslation, since Duterte is not a Manileño and not a Tagalog.
Comedian and TV Personality Ogie Diaz reacted to the statements, saying that their way of thinking was immature. He also suggested that they should talk to the President so that he won’t “misinterpret” what he will say next time as he did not look like he was kidding in his initial statement.
Dear Atty. Harry Roque and Sal Panelo,
Diaz also asked why they kept on making Duterte say things if they’re just going to correct it afterwards.
He went on to say that he doesn’t think that Roque’s actions are helping him with his alleged Senatorial run next year.
The recent suggestion of Senate President Vicente ‘Tito’ Sotto III has garnered a lot of negative reactions from netizens.
But the netizens weren’t the only ones against the lyrics change to the national anthem. Celebrities have also expressed their surprise and disapproval of the proposal.
Vice Ganda poked fun at the issue.
Host and TV personality Bianca Gonzales immediately tweeted her rejection of the idea.
With all due respect, no thank you to changing our national anthem lyrics.
Ogie Diaz took his reaction to Facebook, asking if the lyrics change to the national anthem will solve serious issues such as inflation and corruption. He also proposed the revision of Hail Mary and Ama Namin.
Jim Paredes questioned the importance of the said proposal.
Is this REALLY priority or a waste of time? Give people cheap rice! Control inflation. NOTHING will change if you alter the lyrics of Pambansang Awit!
Broadcasters Arnold Clavio and Joel Reyes Zobel also criticized Sotto’s proposal in an episode of their morning radio program on DZBB.
‘Ang ipaglaban ang kalayaan mo’
In his speech during the plenary debates on the proposed amendment to Republic Act 8491 or the Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines, Sotto talked about changing the last line of the national anthem because it is “defeatist.”
Sa panahon ngayon dapat, “Aming ligaya ‘pag may nang-aapi ang ipaglaban kalayaan mo,” he said in one interview with the media.
Filipino comedian, actor and showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz posts about his thoughts regarding the country’s current situation.
On August 10, he shared Philstar.com‘s article reporting that one member of the Consultative Committee (ConCom) will draft a new constitution that called on President Rodrigo Duterte to fire Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III and Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto Pernia over negative statements about the proposed shift to Federalism.
Con-Com member and San Beda Graduate School of Law Dean Father Ranhilio Aquino implied that if the President is “for it”, he should “sack Dominguez and Pernia or command them to keep their traps shut”.
Let’s stop fooling ourselves. If Dominguez and Pernia, in their official capacities, speak loudly against Federalism, then the question should be asked in all earnestness whether the President is for it or not.
The way things are going, Dominguez and Pernia may merely be paving the way for a subsequent Presidential announcement that “I have been advised by my economists that federalism is as bad for our national health as smoking is to a person.”
Let us be clear now and let our President speak with a convincing baritone that he wishes Congress to pass a federal constitution — if indeed he wishes it so rather than in quavering falsetto. And if he favors federalism let him sack Dominguez and Pernia or command them to keep their traps shut.
Freedom of expression does not apply to Cabinet officials in respect to policy.
Enough of double-talk. If the President is now cool to federalism let him give the order to abandon the federalist ship. Then all of us fools who wrote the draft and defended it with all our might will know that we have been taken for a ride — for a very expensive ride — but we shall at least have the chance to abandon ship before it is scuttled!
On the other hand, Diaz posted and showed the irony in the situation. He questioned the ConCom’s decision to sack Dominguez and Pernia.
In a statement on Thursday, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that the Malacañang is committed to the cause of Federalism.
Comedian and showbiz reported Ogie Diaz slams Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) request for a higher budget in 2019.
“Nakakatawa ‘to. Diaz wrote as he shared the link to the news article from Inquirer.net.
He also suggested that they should just help the Filipinos instead of asking for a higher amount.
The Palace’s communications department is requesting for a higher budget this coming year. The PCOO is now seeking a budget of Php1.41 billion. It is notably higher than the Php1.38 billion they had this year.
PCOO is aiming to get Php1,416,645,000. The proposal showed that about Php642,025,000 will be allocated for personnel services, Php699,713,000 for maintenance and other operating expenses, and Php64,907,000 for capital outlays.
The Bureau of Broadcast Services will be getting the biggest share among the units under PCOO with Php378,072,000 followed by the PCOO proper with Php354,967,000.
Filipino comedian, actor and show business reporter Ogie Diaz posts an open letter to current Presidential Communications Operations Office Mocha Uson.
In the letter, which he posted publicly on his own Facebook account, he commented about Uson’s comparison of Duterte’s viral kiss with a Filipina OFW in Korea and a video of women kissing the late Sen. Benigno Simeon ‘Ninoy’ Aquino Jr. on the cheeks and lips.
Diaz mentioned that she shouldn’t use the former Senator’s kiss to Pres. Duterte’s recent kiss. In Aquino’s situation, he wasn’t aware that the girl will kiss him on the lips wherein in Duterte’s situation, he let Uson interpret the video.
The comedian also asked if Uson really wants to raise the statuses of women in society and make men respect women more, especially that she’s also a woman herself.
He also slams Uson as he says “Well, if you can say disgusting things to the nuns who stopped the tanks in EDSA just to stop the mess, am I still surprised?”
Diaz ended his statement with a note to Mocha’s followers saying that it’s okay if they make fun of him and if he’s wrong, he’s sorry. They can just tell their mom, sisters, or daughters that he’s doing it for them.

Dear MOCHA USON,
Let’s go back to where it all started: their own little group, Hasht5.
Hasht5 is a boy-group which consisted of five members: Eric, CJ, Marlou, Jhimwell and Vincent. They called themselves entertainers.
Marlou and Vincent were a part of their church choir. They used to hang out with another friend before they met Jhimwell. They planned to create a group of boys who can sing, dance and act. They planned to dominate the internet.
Their friend left which let Marlou, Vincent and Jhimwell to look for more friends that they could invite to be part of their group.
CJ used to be a part of Vincent’s dance team and the latter inducted him in their group. Eric, then asked Marlou if he could join.
They created a Facebook account. They posted pictures and put up parody videos.
They have their own talents. Marlou and Vincent see themselves as serious actors. Because of their experience with community theater group. CJ was their go-to dancer with a little bit beatboxing skills. Jhimwell sings and has a talent with instruments. Eric raps, sometimes even on command.
The one most easily recognized is Marlou Arizala because of his eccentric choice of clothes and hair color. Apparently, he was a freshman in college, taking up Business Administration. Although, due to financial issues, he had to stop.
It was an unusual way of stealing the spotlight: attracting bashers and bullies. When they were asked why they have a lot of haters, they shrugged. They stated that it was because of how they look.
They were called drug addicts and even comments that their parents should have aborted them were usually hurled at them. They learned to let the hate flow and the only thing that they could use as their shields are laughter and humor.
Marlou used to say, “Siguro hindi nila tanggap… Hindi siguro ganitong mukha ‘yung gusto nila.” He knew that the people didn’t like how they, how he looked. They even challenged the society’s definition of the word “handsome.”
The society is one of the huge factors of this change. When the society didn’t like something, they’d like to burn it to the ground. And that’s what the society did.
On early September, a video circulated the Internet. It was Marlou with black written marks on his face in a hospital gown. He said that he was really excited about the operation.
Star Image Artist Management posted the video with pictures of Marlou preparing for the surgery.
The pictures were taken in Marikina Doctors Hospital and Medical Center, Inc.
After almost a month, on October 1, he had his debut on “Rated K” as Xander Ford.
The Internet went wild. ‘Xander Ford’ was the #1 Trending on Twitter and ‘Marlou’ on #2.
Because of the drastic change of his face, he also decided to change his name. His now cosmetically-enhanced appearance were plastered everywhere on the internet.
Non-stop issues, left and right but Xander Ford was non-apologetic about changing his appearance.
In an interview with Korina Sanchez-Roxas, when asked of the reason why he wanted to change his appearance, he responded, “Masakit pero kasi po, ito talaga ‘yung pinangarap ko.
He also claimed that he changed his looks in order to gain more confidence and self-esteem.
He seemed happy and content.
Then, it blew over.
Until, a video of him surfaced. It was blurry but the audio was clear. People assumed that it was Xander Ford. Apparently in the video, he insulted Kathryn Bernardo and called her “sakang.”
The direct statement was, “Hindi magigng FHM sexiest si Kathryn Bernardo dahil walang FHM sexiest na sakang.”
He tried to defend himself, even cried just to be vindicated on DJ Cha Cha’s radio program. She felt as if she wanted to help him and even asked the NBI Cybercrime Division to trace and locate the origin of the video because it might just be someone impersonating him.
After a few hours of denying the allegations, the same video was uploaded on a Facebook page, Kathniel Defenders. It was clearly him. But, as Marlou Arizala, not Xander Ford.
When modified, the thumbnail looked clearly like the dead Marlou Arizala.
Although he released his public apology on his Facebook account. The public is yet to know what Kathryn Bernardo’s own response.
In the post, he said that Marlou was the one the video, not Xander. He also stated that he was trying to change and thanked everyone for the continuous support. Xander also promised to rectify Marlou’s faults especially on Kathryn and her fans.
He wants change. He’s changing not just his image but also the way he treats people, he looks at people. And just like any other human being, he deserves a chance to become a better person. Let’s all help him. It’s not an easy journey that’s why he needs help.
