Leni Robredo has made it clear that she will not run for any national position in the 2028 elections, putting to rest ongoing calls for a possible presidential comeback.

In an interview with a local radio station, the Naga City mayor firmly stated:
“Sigurado na ako sa sarili ko na hindi ako magna-national.”
Robredo explained that her priority remains Naga City, where she believes there is still much work to be done.
She also noted that her current three-year term is not enough to accomplish all her plans, describing it as “maiksi” given the challenges of navigating bureaucracy and implementing long-term programs.
Because of this, she is considering seeking a second term as mayor.
“Ako most probably, magsi-seek pa ako ng second term,” she said.
Robredo made history in 2025 as the first female mayor of Naga City.
Despite her firm stance, calls for her to run in 2028 continue to circulate—most notably from talent manager and content creator Ogie Diaz.
In a Facebook post, Diaz openly urged Robredo to reconsider, praising her leadership and integrity despite criticisms from detractors.
“Inookray ng mga troll… pero ramdam nilang lawyer talaga na totoong may malasakit, hindi corrupt, maraming konkreto at malinaw na plano para sa bayan,” he wrote.
He also expressed optimism about growing public support:
“Dami nang gising. Dami nang mulat. At di na muling pipikit pa. Ma’am Leni Gerona Robredo! Beke nemen.”
While acknowledging the continued encouragement from supporters, Robredo maintained that her focus is on serving her hometown and delivering on her commitments as mayor.
