This year’s highlight in showbiz is the exchange of partners among love teams. Like Kathryn Bernardo with Alden Richards, who recently announced their new tandem “KathDen.”
How about Daniel Padilla? Who will be his new lucky partner?
Kathryn’s longtime love team partner Daniel Padilla is rumored to have a new movie project with Charo Santos. Some say that it will be a comedy movie with the working title “Ang Lalaking Dumukot kay Charo Santos.”
But the question is, “Is it true?”
The rumors started over an Instagram post of Star Cinema executive Maluo Santos and film producer Niel Arce. This will be the first time that Daniel Padilla and Charo Santos would be in a movie that would be directed by Joyce Bernal, under Spring Films.
But still, there was no update when they would start the project.
This is not the first time that Daniel and Kathryn had worked separately with different projects. In 2017, Kathryn was one of the cast members for the family drama “Three Words to Forever,” while Daniel was also part of the cast of the movie “Revenger Squad.”
What is more important in having a new tandem or love team is the contentment of the viewers in watching the movie. Though it may not be the usual movie that fans used to watch of the loveteam partners, but directors and filmmakers have seen a potential in new pairings that could excite the viewers.
May may not agree of tandems having new partners, but neither is it bad to try for a change.
Recently, Star Cinema, under the direction of Cathy Garcia Molina, announced the first-ever movie of Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards, who will play the role of an OFW working in Hong Kong.
During the story conference of the KathDen movie last Tuesday, Alden was given a warm welcome by director Cathy Grace Molina, Roxy Liiquigan, Mico del Rosario, and director Olive ‘Inang’ Lamasan.
According to Roxy Liquigan, it took “5 months preparation” to arrange the team-up and there were speculations that the movie will not push through because Alden Richard is exclusively for GMA Network, and there was a possibility that the GMA Artist Center would not allowed him to do the project.
But with the help of Philip Rojas of Asian Artist Agency, headed by Boy Abunda, the project was made possible.
When both artists were asked about their reactions knowing that they would be working together, Kathryn said, “Kung tatanungin niyo ako kung kinakabahan ako, super!” and Alden’s reaction was, “Siyempre, first-time kong makakatrabaho si Kath. We’ve been seeing each other for a long time.”
Kathryn and Alden are known for having strong and loyal fans in their respective love teams, Kathryn with Daniel Padilla for “KathNiel, and Alden with Maine Mendoza for “Aldub.”
But having this new team-up, both their fans positively accepted the upcoming “KathDen” movie.
To show their love and support for both artist they posted their reaction on Twitter.

Some KathNiel fans show maturity by showing support for the upcoming movie.
And now because of Maine’s announcement on her blog that he is dating Arjo Atayde, some of the AlDub fans felt sad and hope this new team up would be a successful one.

Have you imagined the biggest star of both rival networks team up together in one movie? Well, now it’s really happening.
There were rumors spreading that there will be an upcoming movie for Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards. But now, they put an end to those rumors when Star Cinema finally confirmed that Alden and Kathryn are set to star in a romance-drama movie under the one of the industry’s best directors, Cathy Garcia Molina.
The movie will be revolving around young Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
On March 12, Kathryn and Alden finally met with the managing director Olivia Lamasan and director Molina. Although they haven’t decided the title of the movie yet, the film outfit had confirmed that the movie will come out this year.
They also confirmed that they will start filming the movie next month and most of the scenes will be filmed in Hong Kong. On a Twitter post of ROXYLIQUIGAN, @Roxy_Liquigan mentioned that it took 5 months to prepare for this movie project and thankedAlden for accepting the offer.

In addition to that, this is Alden’s first time to work with director Cathy but for Kathryn, this is her fourth time to work with her.
“This is the first time that I’ll be working with her so it’s a great honor and experience kasi I’m really on the stage of exploring the craft and my capability as an actor,” Alden told the press.
We all know that both stars are part of two leading love teams. Kathryn is with “KathNiel” pairing with Daniel Padilla, while Alden Richards is with “AlDub,” teaming-up with Maine Mendoza.
With the popularity of both love teams, Direk Cathy knew how much fans love the artists saying: “I both respect their fandoms.”
And now, she is appealing to the fandoms of both Alden and Kathryn to support them for the upcoming movie.
“Sana mahalin nila yung dalawa [with the] same [na] pagmamahal kasi hindi naman yung love team nila yung binebenta dito but yung kwento at yung galing nila bilang artista,” she added.

Last February 10, a social serye broke on Twitter about Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla entitled “Along España,” which have been loved and appreciated by the viewers, even Kathryn herself.
This is a fan-fiction story where the writer had the freedom to show a love story by writing though experience.
It was posted by user @frostfambam and written by fandom favorite Gwy Saludes. The story of “Along España” is about a Thomasian hottie named Red and Lasallian blogger Avery who were supposed to be exes and separated on bad terms, but because of a research project were brought back together.
The thread is a series on a true love story, hilarious group chats, and the negative effects of what ‘ghosting’ meant, as if nothing had happened – a total stranger that hooked people to continue following the social serye.
On an exclusive interview, Gwy said she took her inspiration from her own life experiences as a student at the University of Santo Tomas.
“I got the inspiration from our research subject. We’re currently gathering data from social media influencers and sending e-mails [and it] inspired me to write a love story about it where Thomasians could enjoy and relate.”
“Along España” become popular that even Kathryn discovered the series through one of her best friends and co-star on the movie “The Hows of Us,” Juan Miguel Severo, who shared a video of Kathryn’s reaction on Twitter.
Hello. Kathryn has already read Along España. pic.twitter.com/KAgzZJoFoQ

“Naaliw ako doon, thank you! Thank you and excited na ako na mabasa pa ‘yung next na mangyayari so good luck and galingan mo!,” the actress told Gwy.
Gwyn got even more motivated because of Kathryn’s message to her that she was now questioning herself and her capability in writing.
“Kathryn’s video message motivated me to continue writing and exploring. Hindi niya siguro alam pero sobra-sobra ‘yung epekto niya sa akin kahit sa simpleng ganoon lang. I love her. Isa siya sa mga inspirasyon ko. Thank you so much kay Juan Miguel Severo. He really knows how to motivate a writer.”
Other celebrities also reacted on Juan Miguel Severo’s post, as well as Gwy’s reply in thanking him for appreciating and loving her work.
i love how juan miguel severo asked kathryn to do a vg kahit na hindi hiningi ng author… maybe as an author himself, he just really wants to motivate gwyomi and other people to create more interesting stories like along españa.
congrats again, @gwyomi!

Make your momma proud!
Kathryn Bernardo is one young Filipino actress who made her mother proud after winning the Camera Obscura awards at the Films Ambasador’s Night, for being part of the highest grossing Pinoy film of all time – the Star Cinema produced-movie “The Hows of Us.”
Her mother, Min Bernardo, couldn’t contain her happiness and was so proud of her daughter’s newest achievement, together with all the cast and crew of the successful film. She was so thankful and considers this success as a miracle in an unexpected way.
“God gave us more than what most of us have prayed for. The “Hows of Us” is truly a miracle that came in the most unexpected way. Maraming salamat at napabilang tayo sa isang napakagandang pelikula na tumatak sa puso ng bawat isa.”
She wrote: “Sobra sobrang proud ako sa inyo. Nakakaiyak sa tuwa, sobrang ligaya ng puso ko.”

It was not only her mother who was so proud of her as it also brought joy and pride to her fans as they sent their congratulatory message to the young actress on Twitter and other social media websites.
For the “Hows of Us” director, cast and the crew, the passion and hard work that they all put on the project was all worth it.
There were 125 films shown last year. And most of them were from film festivals like Sinag Maynila, Cine Filipino, Cinemalaya, Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino, TOFARM Film Festival, Cinema One Originals, QCinema, and the recently concluded Metro Manila Film Festival.
Despite a number of film festivals, Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo‘s The Hows of Us topped the highest grossing film in 2018.
In fact, It was the only Filipino movie that has reached the eight hundred million mark in the Philippine box-office which beaten the previous holder of the top spot, John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo‘s A Second Chance.
The movie also held premieres in Indonesia and Vietnam. It was Star Cinema‘s first time to do so in Jakarta.
KathNiel were not just rocking the box-office but the world of fashion as well. They were the cover of METRO Magazine‘s August 2018 issue.
They have been part of ABS-CBN’s line of representatives in the Thailand Network Trade Launch, which is the country’s largest media event. They attended the trade show with Maja Salvador and Jericho Rosales.
The couple has also won the Favorite Foreign TV Actor and Actress award in the Face of the Year Awards in Vietnam.
La Luna Sangre was acquired by MKCS Global became the platform for the show to be aired in Myanmar. She’s Dating the Gangster was also acquired by a Spanish movie channel called Cinelatino.
Last but not the least, aside from the success of their careers, 2018 has also been the mark of the confirmation of Bernardo and Padilla’s real-life romance of more than five years.

As the year just started, predictions and readings from Feng Shui experts have surfaced.
In an episode of Rated K, an expert called Master Thomas stated that there are stars that may get pregnant this 2019. One of which is The Hows of Us star Kathryn Bernardo.
“May isang artista na nakikita namin na may chance na puwedeng mabuntis ngayong taon na ito, si Kathryn Bernardo,” he stated.
At GMA Network, their stars also had their own readings. Fortune teller Mr. E said that the world of showbiz, GMA Network artists will be in the priority list, however, they need to put in more effort.
When it comes to pregnancies, a studio audience of Sarap, ‘Di Ba? asked the fortune of celebrity and socialite Heart Evangelista.
“Magkaka-baby ka, Heart,” Mr. E answered.
He said that it’s possible that God may grant her that gift that she’s been praying for.
In one episode of Tonight with Boy Abunda, Miles Ocampo spoke about her friendship with Kathryn Bernardo.
She admitted that she has been avoiding the topic ever since rumors have spread that they’re having issues with each other.
“Pag tinatanong ako sinasabi ko na okay kami kasi pag tinatanong si Kat sinasabi din niya na okay kami.”
At a previous guesting of Kathryn, she was also asked about Miles and she said that they’re okay, but also grew apart
Miles said that she has watched the interview and thought about what Kathryn has said.
“Mahirap kasi, Tito Boy, na magigising ka na lang na wala na lahat. Nagising ka one day na bini-blame mo na lang yung sarili mo na hindi mo naman alam kung ano, hindi mo naman alam kung paano nangyari yun.”
She added that there came a point wherein she cried over their friendship.
“Dumating ako sa point na iniiyakan ko siya, Tito Boy. Every time na naalala ko affected pa rin ako, Tito Boy. Every time na may nababasa ako, na sinasabi nila about our friendship affected pa rin ako…”
When Boy said that it is apparent that the two had a problem, Miles answered, “Yun Tito Boy, nagising na lang ako hindi ko alam kung bakit…”
But Miles clarified that she’s currently okay with Kathryn.
“Sobrang okay kami ni Kath, every time na mine-messsage ko siya, sasagot nman siya.
“We may not have the same friendship that we had nung nasa Going Bulilit kami but masasabi ko na yung pagiging special ni Kat sa akin, and yung pagmamahal ko sa kanya nandun pa rin…Ang importante na yun yung sinasabi namin sa isa’t isa and I guess yun na yun…”
The internet went crazy when ABS-CBN‘s 2018 Christmas station ID “Family is Love” on Sunday, November 18, during ASAP Natin To.
There has been hundreds of stars seen in the video, which included, Vice Ganda, Coco Martin, Sarah Geronimo, Gary Valenciano, Piolo Pascual, and Regine Velasquez. Loveteams KathNiel, LizQuen, JaDine, JoshLia, and MayWard were also present in the video.
But as it seemed like every Kapamilya star has participated in the Station ID, there are still notable stars who were not sighted in the video.
Janno openly expressed his disappointment on Instagram. In his now-deleted post, he told everyone not to look for him at the Station ID because he was not even given the chance to participate.
“Throwback to Sept. 12 this year when I signed with @starmusic.ph. Naalala ko lang. Sila yata di ako naalala e.”
He also replied to one comment saying that maybe it’s because he’s not signed on a network contract, but as far as he knows, as long as you’re a recording artist, you’ll be included on the station ID.
When another netizen suggested for him to return to GMA-7, however, he told that the Kapuso network isn’t giving him any projects.
The Megastar was also not included in the Station ID. She is currently filming for her movie with Kathryn Bernardo and Richard Gomez, directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina.
Julia, who is filming for Doctors to the Barrio alongside Kean Cipriano, was also not sighted in the music video.
The Exes Baggage star was also absent.
Alessandra De Rossi
Alessandra was also not in the station ID. Her movie ‘Through Night and Day‘ is currently showing in cinemas.
DonKiss fans fans have noticed the absence of the loveteam’s other half Kisses.
Judy Ann Santos
Like the artists listed above, Judy Ann did not participate in this year’s ABS-CBN Station ID.
