Following the clash of social media users who have and are watching Game of Thrones with those who have not, now that the series is back for its final season, one Twitter user joined in on the fun by mocking the discourse with a Philippine drama.
Netizen AC Mondragon posted on April 16 on his Twitter account:
“‘I watch game of thrones’
‘uhhh… me I watch goldilocks!’
“I watch game of thrones”

His joke went viral with 23 thousand likes and three thousand retweets online.
“(I) (love) this. THIS IS GOLD–” replied one netizen with a pun of her own.

“Kandadong Ginto,” corrected a Twitter user regarding Mondragon’s post.

“Mondragon vs. Mother of Dragons,” wittily replied another Netizen, referencing a character from the hit HBO fantasy drama.

“Dahil sayo mamang, nag uumpisa na akong manood ng kadenang ginto at di ako nagsisi,” claimed another social media user.
Kadenang Ginto is a 2018 Philippine drama television series starring Francine Diaz, Andrea Brillantes, Beauty Gonzalez, Albert Martinez, Dimples Romana and Adrian Alandy.
It tells a story of familial bond that was once so precious but slowly becoming an unbreakable chain of deception and cruel desires.
The series premiered on ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Gold afternoon block and worldwide via The Filipino Channel on October 8, 2018, replacing Asintado.

Although the campaign period has not yet officially started for the May 2016 presidential elections in the Philippines, the candidates have been busy in the past few months trying to gain popularity so they can win the hearts (and the votes) of Filipinos.
The political arena has been peppered by numerous issues affecting the presidential aspirants: Sen. Grace Poe’s disqualification case, Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago’s cancer, DILG Secretary Mar Roxas’s alleged usage of Yolanda funds, Vice President Jejomar Binay’s allegedly overpriced Makati buildings, and Mayor Rodrigo Duterte’s colorful language and threats of violence.
Some people couldn’t help but find similarities in these situations with that of the plot of internationally acclaimed fantasy drama TV series, Game of Thrones. Netizen Ria Redulla Fernandez matched some Game of Thrones characters with the aspirants for the top posts (president and vice president)—and the results are quite interesting.
Good at conquering, probably on the good side, unapologetic, his bad behavior could be his downfall, has a lot of untrustworthy people lurking about him, sexist, adulterer, and other obvious parallels. (Caption credit: Ria Redulla Fernandez)
Wants to continue her father’s legacy, thinks she’s ready for leadership but everyone else doesn’t think so, can play that victim card pretty well. (Caption credit: Ria Redulla Fernandez)
Could maybe do the job but does not inspire love or hope from the masses, you were starting to consider him, but then he starts doing things that make you go “what the hell are you doing! Nooo, staaahp!!” (Caption credit: Ria Redulla Fernandez)
Always ranting about being the rightful ruler and we’re just kinda over it. (Caption credit: Ria Redulla Fernandez)

Shock and heartbreak over a character’s death are “normal” emotions viewers feel when watching the immensely popular fantasy series Game of Thrones. But the finale of season five had fans aggrieved even more than usual as it ended with the death of everyone’s favorite [email protected]%$rd, Jon Snow.
As if struggling with the first stage of grief, denial, fans expressed hope and disbelief, exclaiming “well, he wasn’t exactly beheaded, he could come back, right?” And with the show finally catching up with the A Song of Ice and Fire books, the novels offered no “spoilers” this time as to the fate of he who knows nothing. Still, fans dare to hope.
That flicker of hope grew a little bit as actor Kit Harington was spotted at this year’s Wimbledon. Not such a big deal at first, many celebrities flock to watch tennis’ premiere event. But wait, plucky fans were quick to point out that Harington was still sporting his signature Jon Snow wavy, raven-black locks. If the character is indeed dead as a door nail, as showrunners and the actor himself profess, why hadn’t Harington had his hair and beard shorn yet?
Separation anxiety issues, perhaps? Aha, but Jon Snow fans, let that flicker of hope rage into a burning flame! Breaking news comes from GoT community website, the Watchers on the Wall!
Kit Harington, locks all tied in a man-bun, but still long-haired and bearded has just been spotted at Belfast where Game of Thrones is currently filming. An eagle-eyed fan named Lucy spotted Harington and fellow cast member Tom Wlaschiha (Jaqen H’ghar) on the same flight she was taking from London to Belfast. She also took a few quick snaps of Harington and submitted them to the site.
While it may be possible that he may only be re-joining production to shoot flashback scenes or dead-body-in-coffin scenes, we can only wait for the next season to see, perhaps it’s safe to say that Jon Snow DOES know something! Sneaky [email protected]%$rd!
