Many netizens and different personalities have paid the Unkabogable Phenomenal Box Office Superstar, with hefty praises, for using his platform yet again, to raise awareness in a very important social issue: family planning.
Known for his being very vocal about his opinions on different social issues, Vice Ganda did not surprise when he once again shed light upon a very, often-neglected discussion on national television. Last August 23, a male contestant in the Rampanalo segment admitted that he sired 12 children in 5 different women.
“Grabe, wag ganon! Wag kang mag-punla ng pananim sa iba’t ibang lupain. Masama ‘yon!, ” he told the contestant.
He then identified the player as one of the Filipinos who followed Senator Ronald ‘Bato’ de la Rosa’s advice to families, to have as many children as possible, so that more Filipinos will share the burden of settling our national debt, which is projected to swell to ₱15.84 billion in 2024.
“Isa ‘to sa mga Pilipino na sumusunod kay Senator Bato. ‘Yung magparami daw ng anak para mas maraming maghati-hati sa utang ng Pilipinas. Ikaw talaga!, ” he said, subtly reprimanding the Rampanalo player.
“Kapag mahirap ‘wag nang anak nang anak! Kawawa ‘yung bata kung hindi mo mabibigyan ng magandang buhay!” Vice Ganda added, when he found out the contestant was poor and unable to send most of his children to school.
Such real-talk moment on the show captured the interest of many on social media, with several personalities commending the comedian-TV host for using his influence to spark much-needed conversations, especially on national television.
