GMA Network praised for handling Klea Pineda’s coming out

Pineda posted, “I want the world to know that I am a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community.”

Netizens have praised the GMA Network for handling actress Klea Pineda’s coming out appropriately.

On March 19, Pineda came out as a homosexual on her Instagram story. She posted, “I want the world to know that I am a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community.”

“I am still the same Klea that you loved and supported throughout the years. The only difference now is I can proudly say that I’m gay! From now on, I want to live my life fearlessly,” she said.

In an interview with Boy Abunda, Pineda introduced her gay girlfriend Katrice (Kierulf).

“Finally, she’s speaking her truth already to everyone. I’m so proud of her,” Kierulf said.

“I love you so much,” Pineda told Kierulf.

Pineda also gave a shout-out to her network.

“Alam ko, kilala ko ‘yung sarili ko na kahit na anong roles ang ibigay sa akin ng GMA Network at ng Sparkle Artists Center, bibigyan ko ng hustisya ang roles na ‘yon. And naniniwala ako sa skills na meron ako. Sa talent na meron ako. And of course, hindi naman ‘yan makakaapekto sa talent na meron ako. Hindi ‘yan makakaapekto sa career na gusto kong tahakin,” she said.

Netizens also praised GMA for handling Pineda’s revelation.
