Cristy Fermin claims she understands KC Concepcion’s stance in not joining her stepdad’s Sen. Kiko Pangilinan’s rallies because of Sen. Tito Sotto

Talk show host and commentator Cristy Fermin in her recent episode for Cristy Fer Minute of April 8, 2022 invalidated the claim of some netizens about KC Concepcion on her alleged escape from the campaign events of stepdad, vice presidential aspirant Senator Francis ‘Kiko’ Pangilinan through her link with rival vice-presidential and current Philippine Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto Ill.

Fermin explained that Concepcion went back to New York because she had work to do and had some commitments like an endorsement and that this is understandable.

However, some netizens especially the die-hard gossipers (Marites) claimed that she sneaked out from the campaign.

“Si KC, bumalik na ng New York. Nandoon na uli siya. Kailangan niya kasing tuparin ‘yung kanyang pangako, may gagawin siyang endorsement. May trabaho siya. Pero ang pinagtataka ng marami nating kababayan, lalo na ang mga Marites, jumokas daw. Tumakas daw si KC sa kampanya,” she revealed.

Fermin justified that the situation of KC is easy to understand revealing the ties and link of Pangilinan’s stepdaughter and Cuneta’s daughter to Sen. Sotto. She revealed that they are part of a family and KC is like a daughter to Sen. Sotto and his wife and actress Helen Gamboa.

KC is the granddaughter of the late Pablo Cuneta, a former Mayor of Pasay City, and Elaine Gamboa, Sharon Cuneta’s mother and the sister of Helen Gamboa, wife of Philippine Senate President, Sen. Sotto.

Sharon is married to lawyer and politician, Sen. Pangilinan which by default created the rivalry.

“Madali pong intindihin ‘yan, mga kapatid. Siyempre po, ayaw din naman makapanakit ni KC. Ang gusto po niya ay isang tahimik na labanan. Nandiyan sa Kakampink si Senator Kiko, at ang kanya naman pong kinikilala talaga na si Senator Tito Sotto ay nasa isang kampo. E sang pamilya nga naman sila, di ba?” Fermin explained.

“Parang anak na rin ang turing sa kanya nina Kuya Tito at ni Ate Helen. Doon po, hindi man niya po sabihin, intindihin na lang po natin yung kalagayan ni KC. Mahirap talaga, kahit si Sharon (Cuneta), ang hirap-hirap ng kanyang kalagayan ngayon.”

Despite being not visible in the Leni-Kiko tandem rallies, Concepcion is supporting the Leni-Kiko tandem.

She posted on IG on October 8, 2021, that vice presidential candidate, Sen. Pangilinan deserves her vote and the people. She emphasized the educational and senatorial track record of her stepdad as worthy to be voted for.

On March 21, 2022, she also posted the famous tagline of Leni-Kiko tandem showing her support.

Concepcion added the series of support sealing it with an endorsement of Sen. Pangilinan on April 7, 2022, in a video posted by Sen. Kiko on his twitter account.

In the video, she revealed how the vice presidential aspirant molded her as an eldest and how to be independent, confident, and resilient.

“Ito ang humubog sa akin bilang panganay, na maging independent, maging confident, at magkaroon ng tiwala sa sarili. Siya ang nagturo sa akin na madapa ka man, makakabangon ka rin. And you will be better than ever, ” she explained in the video.

Sen. Pangilinan also greeted Concepcion on her birthday, April 7, 2022, and thanked her for allowing him to become a father.
