Nikki Valdez, Dimples Romana celebrate 24 years in showbiz

Both actresses were once part of ABS-CBN’s Star Circle Batch 4, launched in 1997.

Actresses Dimples Romana and Nikki Valdez marked their 24th year in the entertainment industry.

In their Instagram accounts–both stars posted about their humble beginnings and their journeys that brought to the stature they have now.

Romana uploaded a photo of hers as a hopeful 12-year-old, powered by the prayers and lessons in life.

“The times then were different. I didn’t know a thing about being an actor.

“All I had was willingness and humility to learn and be better, every single day. That young lady is still in me. Never took any opportunity given to me for granted, always reminded myself to be good to everyone around me regardless of their position or status.

“Made the conscious effort to always show my gratitude towards people.”

She then mentioned the people she met during Star Circle Batch 4 and how God has blessed her with a steady career.

“With all the experiences I’ve had over the years, from transitioning from that shy timid young lady to creating my own path, from reinventing myself to become a host, entrepreneur, author, brand ambassador, endorser along the way, from doing supporting and character roles, playing characters that are iconic in their way, the things I’ve learned from the masters and all those who came before me, I will share soon.”

On the other hand, Valdez also posted a throwback photo and recalled the challenges she faced when she was just starting out.

“Ang sarap balikan ang lahat ng saya, hirap at sakripisyo bago makapagcelebrate ng araw na ito. Ang halos araw-araw na pagbiyahe sakay ang bus, jeep at taxi para makarating ng ABSCBN para sa training, pupunta ng Hotel Rembrandt para magworkshop at mga locations ng taping at shooting kasi wala pa naman ako kotse noon,” she said.

The actress also wrote about the people who used to lend her clothes to use during pictorials and the times when she had to go to their long-time friend’s parlor to fix her hair as she didn’t have sponsors back then.

“Napakaraming alaala na habambuhay ko dadalhin sa puso ko hangga’t ako’y nabubuhay at may trabaho.”

She ended her post by mentioning some of the people that guided her throughout her career.

“I am where I am now because of all of you,” she wrote.

Valdez also included a photo of her first-ever calendar filled with her schedules.
