Netizen shares frustrating conversation with a friend borrowing money

A Facebook user shared how she got called “madamot” because she refused to lend PhP 30,000.

  • The other person said that the amount is only a small sum for the netizen.
  • The netizen’s donation was even used against her just because she didn’t have PhP30,000 to lend.

A netizen shared a frustratingly unbelievable story about how a family friend got mad at her and called her names for not letting her borrow some money.

In the screenshots Ma Sofia Meer shared on Facebook, their interaction started off with the person, Leah, seemingly trying to catch up with her. Leah even complimented Sofia and said that she’s getting prettier.

Sofia then shared she was in Singapore during the time of the conversation.

“Iba talaga pag maraming pera,” Leah replied before proceeding to ask about her sister.

The netizen then clarified that the trip is a birthday gift from her friends and that her sister is in Manila. Leah then quickly turned to her original purpose of messaging Sofia: to borrow some money.

She said that it was her son’s baptism as well as her birthday soon and they would like to combine the celebrations into one. Because it was going to be a big event, she wanted to ask Sofia for some financial help. When Sofia asked her how much she needed, she answered Php30,000.

Since it was a big amount, Sofia admitted that she couldn’t give Php30,000 to Leah because she just donated money to the organization Influence US to help the victims of the recent typhoon that hit the Philippines. With that, she can only give Php10,000.

That did not satisfy Leah who said, “Grabe naman yung 10k. Lechon lang yun. Hindi na kami makakabili ng cake at ibang lulutuin niyan.”

Sofia then made her offer of Php13,000 and that she cannot add any more as she also needed to pay other people whom she borrowed money from.

Leah did not stop and still tried to convince the netizen to lend her at least Php25,000 and she said she’ll pay after Christmas. Sofia said no and that she had other obligations.

“Barya lang yan. Sige na. Napaka-damot mo naman,” Leah told her.

This is when Sofia snapped and said that Php13,000 is not a small amount either. Leah proceeded to call her names and used Sofia’s donation against her by saying that she had the money to give to the organization but not money to an acquaintance.

“Sana yumaman ka pa dahil sa kadamutan mo.”

When she offered the Php13,000 again, Leah rejected it and said she changed her mind because of Sofia’s attitude.

“Wag sana dumating yung panahon na makarma ka diyan sa kadamutan mo. Sayang ganda, basura naman ugali. Sayo na yang 13k mo. Barya lang naman sayo yung 30k nagda-damot ka pa,” Leah said.

In the caption of her post, Sofia said that she’s willing to help others as long as she can but this time, she can’t give that much money.

“Unang-una, never po ako nagdamot specially kung kaya ko namang ibigay! Pero nagkataon lang po talaga na marami din akong obligasyon kaya di ko kayang magpahiram ng ganun kalaki,” she wrote.

TO LEAH MACARONI!
