Inconsiderate professor tells student to climb a coconut tree to get better signal for online class

The student entered Google Meet and repeatedly said he was present but that only made his professor more frustrated.

A video of a professor scolding his student for having poor signal has gone viral on social media.

Facebook page Mayor Jed “Ging” Mabilog shared a screen recording of Western Institute of Technology professor Engr. Inocencio Dadivas going off after his student reasoned that his internet signal was fluctuating.

The unnamed student can be heard saying that he had no signal which prompted Dadivas to berate him for thirty seconds straight.

According to Iloilo based reporter Thessalonia Ordales, the student hasn’t been showing up to Dadivas’s Auxillary Machinery class for five days straight.

The student entered Google Meet and repeatedly said he was present but that only made his professor more frustrated.

In their local dialect, Dadivas told the student that he shouldn’t have enrolled if indeed his connection was unstable. He then advised him to go up a coconut tree to get a better signal.

Dadivas also said that he has been teaching for 18 years, and his students who have become professionals hug him because they understand his strictness was for their own good.
