People were surprised after Sen. Grace Poe’s ‘no comment’ on resolution to reverse cease and desist order against ABS-CBN

Cayetano sponsored the resolution but surprised everyone when she withdrew her signature.

The Senate Resolution No. 395 which seeks to reverse the National Telecommunications Commission’s (NTC) cease and desist order against ABS-CBN and its affiliates was finally passed on Monday.

The resolution reiterates the Senate’s position wanting ABS-CBN to continue operations while its franchise is pending in congress.

However, 9 senators, including Pia Cayetano and Senate President Tito Sotto abstained from voting.

Cayetano sponsored the resolution but surprised everyone when she withdrew her signature.

Aside from the 9 who abstained, three had ‘no comment’.

Grace Poe tweeted on May 8 saying, “The Filipino people want to see the network back on air. To see is to believe.”

Netizens slammed her for not delivering on her promise.

It was actually quite surprising for many.

One netizen says Poe is an ingrate since ABS-CBN supported her in the past.

After tweeting “Freedom of expression is sacrosanct and is what keeps democracy alive and thriving. It is a right that every government must respect and never obstruct,” Dick Gordon had no comment as well.

The third senator who had no comment was Koko Pimentel, which shocked no one.
