Angel Locsin has been one of the more active celebrities helping the country’s frontliners in this trying time fighting against the ever so deadly coronavirus.
Her #UniTentWeStand program has been huge for hospitals in Metro Manila in creating more space due to overcrowding. Locsin’s selfless act received praise from the Filipino people. But unfortunately, this program will now come to a halt.
On April 10, Locsin went on Instagram to break the sad news.
The DOH has asked Locsin to stop donating sanitation tents and the reason for which remains unclear.
“Respecting the DOH latest announcement dated April 10, 2020 at 5pm, #unitentwestandph would no longer be donating sanitation tents but would still continue to help our healthcare frontliners with tents that they may use for themselves or for patient care.”
One user commented saying that the chemical used in the sanitation tents are cancer-causing, to which Angel replied, “Depende sa chemical na gamit. Iba-iba kasi ‘yan. At dapat may certification.”
Additionally, the actress said, “The team was able to find a credible supplier complete with a certification of effectivity and safety.”
People weren’t too pleased with the DOH’s orders.

Locsin started donating tents to hospitals at the onset of the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon, and did it at the right time when the health facilities were constantly getting overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients.
Hospitals were even requesting for more tents so their load management would be easier.

Overcrowding in hospitals makes things harder for frontliners so the tents are there to basically create more space.
With her status as a celebrity, Locsin was able to convince her friends in the show business to contribute to the cause.
Angelica Panganiban, Anne Curtis, and Bea Alonzo did not hesitate to donate taping beds.
Sharon Cuneta has also donated ₱3 million to medical frontliners.
People have been praising Angel for her efforts.
