- A teacher got a surprise after he went to class after the Christmas break.
- The class’ attendance during the first day of classes in 2019 consisted of only one student.
A teacher from Binalonan, Pangasinan was surprised when he came back to work on Thursday, January 3, the first day of classes after Christmas break.
Why? Only one of his students showed up.
Yes, only a student from Chito Grullo‘s class of 32 showed up that day.
In a report by GMA News, he said that instead of being annoyed, he couldn’t help but laugh and be amused at the turnout.

“Nagulat at natawa na lang ang guro na si YouScooper Chito Grullo mula sa Binalonan, Pangasinan dahil isa lang ang pumasok sa kaniyang klase ngayong araw ng pagbabalik-eskwela matapos ang bakasyon.
Aniya, marahil ay sa Lunes na papasok ang iba para masulit nila ang bakasyon. Ang nag-iisang pumasok ay binigyan na lamang niya ng extra points dahil sa effort ng pagpunta sa klase.
Mensahe niya sa kaniyang mga lumiban na estudyante, i-enjoy na nila ang bakasyon dahil “back to reality” na sa susunod na linggo.”
