VIRAL: This cat works as a ‘security’ guard

A photo of a cat “working” as security guard at the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) has gone viral on social media. After all, who would have thought a cat would be gainfully employed, more so in a bank.

This feline even got has his own ID, complete with picture and name identifying it as a security officer.

The viral photo was uploaded by netizen Nicole Balaoing who posted the following caption:

Si Muning may trabaho, ikaw meron? :)) High five to the Development Bank of the Philippines main office who’s apparently hired a valuable asset in their company. Word goes around that “Muning” catches so many rats, mukhang sinali na siya sa payroll! Ang cute! smile emoticon ‪#‎adoptdontshop ‪#‎puspinsrock!

Note: Not my photo, just saw this being shared around animal groups

Plenty of people liked the photo, adding comments praising both DBP and the cat.

Some netizens believe the cat should be rewarded well for keeping the bank free of rats. For example, Michaelangelo Caracta commented, “I wish yung payroll niya includes: 5 KG of Royal CaninFfit 32 and 5 cans of Whiskas assorted tuna and ocean fresh flavors plus 5 packs of Royal Canin wet food!

Others thought it should be treated better as cat appears to be thin.

Still, most thought it was great for DBP to “employ” the cat.

What do you think?
