“Avengers: Endgame” is said to be the Avengers finale series, which became a much-awaited movie for viewers, especially Avengers fans. But because of this, some netizens had actually ended their social media connections with their friends and some of their family members who would spoil any scene from the movie.
On Wednesday, cinemas were flooded by movie-goers as Marvel finally premiered their final series of Avengers. Tickets were already sold out before the opening date. Cinemas can’t accommodate everyone for a day so others must wait for their scheduled ticket date.
Netizens who haven’t seen the movie yet had become anxious as the internet could expose some details or those exposed by so-called “spoilers” even on premier day.
Some of Facebook and Twitter users had said on their social media accounts that they “unfriend” those who shared scenes or details from the movie, after they have seen the movie. Others were counting off friends whom they have chosen to cut their ties with online.
Because of #AvengersEndgame spoilers, I unfriended at least 20 people on Facebook. Those attention-seeking bastards, why can't they let people feel the way we felt while watching the movie? Indulge them with the experience?
— Rei Sarmiento-Niñal (@reimusika) April 24, 2019
Spoiler alert pa more. 15 unfriended and counting 🙂 keep them coming.#NoStressUnfriendAgad
— OrdinaryGuy (@iamjdDafielmoto) April 24, 2019
Some have even threatened to end their friendship beyond social media, which meant cutting all means of communication with them.
If anybody spoils Avengers End Game on Twitter or Facebook or anywhere, I'm gonna unfriend them on those platforms AND IN REAL LIFE.
— Tan Zi Rui (@Verytanrui) April 23, 2019
Family members were not even exempted, ‘coz if they spoiled the movie it is an endgame relationship for them, as well.
Will unfriend whoever shares any spoiler of Avengers Endgame. FAMILY OR NOT.

The directors plead the fans not to spoil the movie so it would not ruin the viewer’s experience as “Thanos still demands your silence.”
How lucky are Filipinos? We have delicious cuisine, beautiful women, a unique culture, and now we are also one of the first countries to screen the most awaited Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Endgame.’
This is easily one of the biggest and most anticipated movies of all time so it will not be that surprising to see people do things out of the ordinary.
Here is a list of the craziest things Filipinos did on the first day of the movie’s screening.
1. The movie has an overall screening time of 3 hours. Most men can’t even last that long with their partners. When it comes to movies, food will almost always be a necessity, specifically popcorn.
One woman took popcorn a step too far when she decided to buy what looks like 2 kilograms of popcorn placed in a big plastic bag. Netizens were fascinated with her antics and found it to be hilarious!
Yung aga mo sa sa sinehan para sa Avenger Endgameexcited lang te?Photos Lamon Queen
Even she herself knows that it could take an entire day to finish that popcorn.
2. Megaworld Lifestyle Mall announced that the most-awaited Avengers movie of all time will be shown with Chinese subtitles. Netizens and people were not too happy with the announcement, and people who have bought tickets in advance aired their frustration by asking for refunds.
To Megaworld Cinemas – let’s be honest na lang kasi, don’t play the people like fools. It’s a money game for you, showing Chinese subs is profitable for cos Avengers is a peak movie with a lot of cinema competitors and you have to keep up. Nagtaray pa sa PR eh hahaha
— Tuds S. (@tudssiazon) April 23, 2019
I am both amazed and angered by Marvel Studios, Walt Disney Studios, and Megaworld for thinking that we will enjoy watching Avengers with Chinese subs in our country’s cinemas? Think again! Scrap that Chinese subs!
— BIBOYism (@Biboyism101) April 22, 2019
Talking about the 'thing' with Megaworld adding Chinese subs to Avengers: Endgame. A friend who is hearing impaired said, "I hope they consider adding English subtitles. It's been years since I haven't watched in a movie theater because of lack of subs."
— Kat Sales – See you at #AprilFeelsDay2019 (@saberkite) April 23, 2019
They felt that the Chinese were being given special treatment and one more reason for the outrage is that there is still tension between the two countries. Filipinos might be overreacting since the Chinese subtitles will only be shown in selected cinemas.
3. Graduation is a significant moment for any student. But one student thought that graduation can wait and went straight to buying an Avenger’s ticket while wearing his graduation attire.
But its okay, he does not look like someone who would win an award anyway.
4. When we say 4:30 in the morning, some people go out for a jog, some are still sleeping, some are preparing to go to work. But the real Avengers fans, or those who are unemployed, at 4:30 in the morning on the day of the screening, headed straight to the cinemas to line up for tickets.
Done watching "Avengers: Endgame"? Just a friendly reminder: #DontSpoilTheEndgame. (Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News)

For those who are not fans of the series, now you know how important this movie is!
5. The video shows Filipinos inside a mall running up an escalator with full speed. They kept on running when they reached the second floor. People are pushing each other trying to make it to the cinemas.
Who would have thought that we would see a marathon happen inside a mall. The entire thing looked like a scene out of World War Z.
6. Filipinos are creatively funny. One Marvel Fan by the name of Edgar Torres Jr, photo-shopped himself with several Marvel heroes creating a parody of photos. He also included well known personalities like Coco Martin.
His posts have garnered over 35,000 shares and 25,000 likes.
7. Cosplayers showed up in KCC Mall Zamboanga dressed up as several Marvel Heroes. People were intrigued with them although they looked like the midget versions of the original ones but nonetheless made the people, especially the kids, happy.
These are just some of the most peculiar things Pinoys have done during the screening of one of the biggest movies of all time. Imagine if there would be a bigger movie than the ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ and that movie will be screened first in this country, what other crazy things can we expect from Filipino moviegoers? Hmm.
Our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man returns to the big screen. Moviegoers don’t just get to see one, but six Spideys in one spectacular movie. Columbia Pictures, Sony Pictures Animation and Marvel Entertainment proudly present Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, introducing Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where anyone can wear the mask.
Based on the hit comic book characters created by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Sara Pichelli in 2011, this animated movie centers on the adventures of Afro-American/Puerto Rican Brooklyn teen Miles Morales.
The story follows his life as he tries to fit in at a new private school in Manhattan. But Miles’ life becomes more complicated when he is bitten by a radioactive spider, giving him super powers, which include venom strike, camouflage, sticking to objects, incredible hearing, Spidey sense, and many more. Meanwhile, the city’s nefarious criminal mastermind Kingpin has developed an ultra-secret nuclear super collider which opens up a portal to other universes, pulling different versions of Spider-Man (including an older Peter Parker, Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Ham and anime Peni Parker) into Miles’ world.
Aided by familiar characters such as Peter Parker, Spider-Gwen and a kick-ass version of Aunt May, and new characters such as Spider-Ham, Spider-Man Noir and anime Peni Parker, Miles learns to accept the challenges and responsibilities of being a real superhero. He ultimately realizes that anyone can wear the hero’s mask and take action to fight for what’s right.
Here are 10 Reasons why moviegoers must not miss watching this:
10. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are the creative minds behind this film.
The names Phil Lord and Christopher Miller might sound familiar already to some. And for the uninitiated, this duo is behind the critically-acclaimed blockbuster animated films Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009) and The Lego Movie (2014), as well as the live-action comedy film 21 Jump Street (2012) and its sequel (2014). This time, the duo bring their unique sensibilities to a fresh version of a different Spider-Man Universe, with a groundbreaking visual style that’s the first of its kind.
9. The line and challenge: “What makes you different is what makes you Spider-Man?”
Miles Morales started from being just a normal Brooklyn teenager before becoming the next Spider-Man. He had to go through a lot of difficulties before finally gaining control of his powers and abilities. He fell down many times, thinking that he was not worthy for the responsibility.
He thinks that he is weak because he is very different from all the other versions of Spider-Man. But slowly, he realizes that this is also what makes him special. The film proves to everyone that what makes one different is the same thing that makes anyone unique and one-of-a-kind.
8. It’s a Nostalgic Comic Book Feels.
One of the most striking aspects of the film is its dynamic visual style, which goes beyond what audiences expect to see in CG-animated movies and pays homage to the classic look and feel of the comic-books of the Golden Era. . “We have moments when the frame gets broken into panels, just like you see in comic-books,” explains producer Christopher Miller.
“There are flash frames that allow for unusual compositions, and there are new sound effects and stylized visuals that are spread throughout the movie. There are scenes where one can feel inside a comic-book. It’s very exciting to create and very exciting to watch. And it’s choreographed to hopefully change the way animation is done in the future.
7. Stan Lee Has a Cameo!
Yes! Spider-Man co-creator Stan Lee has a posthumous cameo in the film. The scene features the late Stan Lee as he gives the Spider-Man costume to Morales during one of the film’s most-emotional moments. Lee died back in November 2018.
6. Not the Usual Spider-Man.
The film centers on the character of Miles Morales, whose creation started before the November 2008 election of Barack Obama as President of the United States. He was introduced to the Spider-Man comics in 2011, created by comic book writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Sara Pichelli. He is the first the first black Spider-Man and he also marks the second time that a Latino character has taken over the Spider-Man suit. The first was Miguel O’Hara, a half-Mexican, who was the title character in the 1990s comic series “Spider-Man 2099”.
5. The Star-studded Voice Cast.
The film features the voices of Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Jake Johnson as Peter Parker, Hailee Steinfeld as Spider-Gwen, Mahershala Ali as Miles’ uncle Aaron, Brian Tyree Henry as Miles’ father Jefferson, Lily Tomlin as Aunt May, Luna Lauren Velez as Miles’ mother Rio, John Mulaney as Spider-Ham, Kimiko Glenn as Peni Parker, with Nicolas Cage as Spider-Man Noir, Kathryn Hahn, and Liev Schreiber as Kingpin.
4. It has a Visually Stunning Animation.
Phil Lord said that the film’s talented artists used the highest state-of-the-art CG animation tools combined with hand drawn animation techniques to tell the film’s multi-layered narrative. “Every frame is an illustration of something,” he notes. “While computer graphics can effectively represent people and places in highly photorealistic ways, in this movie, we added an extra layer of hand-crafted artistry on top of every CG frame. It was very important to us that every frame of the movie was refined by the artists hand after the visuals were rendered by computers. If you freeze any part of the movie at any time, it will look like an illustration with hand drawn touches and all.”
3. The Thrilling Action.
The film offers plenty of action-packed scenes that will take audiences at the edge of their seats. There’s a lot of exhilarating moments like the scene where Olivia Octavius, the female counterpart of Doctor Octopus chases Peter Parker and Miles Morales through the woods. Directors Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman really made sure to make the movie fun and exciting for everyone.
2. The Unexpected Twists And Turns.
There are many unexpected revelations and surprises in the film that audiences won’t see coming their way. And you have to watch out for that post-credit scene!
1. It’s A Fresh Take On The Beloved Superhero.
“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” brings a completely new take on Marvel’s beloved web-slinging superhero, which was first introduced by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in 1962. Featuring a diverse cast and a revolutionary approach to the classic Spider-Man mythos, the movie is unlike any of the previous cinematic interpretations of the familiar character.
Don’t Miss “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” now showing in Philippine cinemas!

You may know famous Marvel characters such as Baby Groot, Loki, Okoye, Hulk, and Doctor Strange. Well, a Filipino might be the one behind those characters in the Marvel movies.
Anthony Francisco is a Senior Visual Development Artist in Marvel Studios.
In a video by Niel Fernandez, the artist shared what inspired him to draw. There were times when he experienced disturbing things in the Philippines.
“I draw from personal experiences. There was a time when things weren’t so good in the Philippines. Walking to school with some friends, we saw dead bodies and it was very traumatic.”
Anthony then said that comic books became a big part of how he handled those situations.
“Comic books became my outlet to see the world being saved by heroes.”
Charlie Wen, who is the co-head and founder of MARVEL Studios Visual Development, was instrumental to Anthony’s entry in the company. He was hired to design aliens for the movie Guardians of the Galaxy. And from there, he got to work on his first ever main character, Baby Groot.
“I was heavily influenced by my kids. While I was designing Baby Groot, my kids were a big big influence.”
The other characters he got to design were Loki (Thor: Ragnarok), Hulk (Thor: Ragnarok), Doctor Strange, and he became a part of the visual team of Avengers: Infinity War.
He also did the keyframe art for Ant Man.
When he was asked what he felt with all the success, “It’s a crazy feeling that my designs are up on the big screen and it’s iconic now. Everyone’s cosplaying it. And I would’ve never dreamed that my designs would be that influential.”
To top off Anthony’s achievements, he became a part of the team that created the global box-office hit Black Panther. He was the one that created the character of Okoye.
In an interview with Esquire Magazine, he admitted that he incorporated Filipino elements to the costume design and drew inspiration from his grandmother’s table runner.
“I remembered that table runner because it looked tribal to me and I played with it. I was also thinking of what would be a good shape to place in the midsection of the costume.
“So there are no actual historically correct Filipino designs on there, it’s more of my translation of the different cultures I tried to learn from. I was trying to make something unique yet familiar.”
He also shared that the first thing that came to his mind regarding the design was the Igorots.
Anthony left a few inspiring words to those in the field of art.
“Flexibility and the freedom to create is why I love art. Everyone’s creative in their own way. And they have a lens where they see things and translate things.
I hope I really get to inspire people and inspire people from the Philippines, because that’s where I came from. And to know that no matter where you are in life, you just focus and work hard, you will get to where you want to go.”

A lot of people have been pointing out the similarities between GMA Network’s “Victor Magtanggol” and Marvel’s “Thor,” but one netizen took it to the extent of sending a message to a page called Marvel Philippines.
A Twitter user named Earl Andersen posted screenshots of a message to Marvel Philippines informing them about the GMA Network show’s alleged copied version of Thor.
I just want to let you know that one of the major tv network (GMA Network) in the Philippines copied the story and concept of Thor. I want you to file a case against GMA Network. The title of GMA Network upcoming series is Victor Magtanggol.
Do some actions right now and consult your lawyers about it. Copyright is a form of intellectual property, your property stolen by GMA Network.
Hoping your kind consideration
The page replied that they will take note of the matter. The netizen sent screenshots of the said similarities as the page responded that they will get back to the message soon.
Thanks for messaging us. We try to be as responsive as possible. We’ll get back to you soon.
As a result of the screenshots spreading all over the internet, there have been speculations that Marvel will file a lawsuit against GMA Network.
However, Marvel Philippines recently posted a statement regarding a “fake news” written by someone named Nica Borja. The news stated that it may be possible for the franchise to file a case as they have responded to the messages, which the page immediately denied. Marvel Philippines clarified that they are not affiliated with Marvel.
PUBLIC STATEMENT on this FAKE NEWS:
Hello, True Believers!
It has been brought to our attention that a screenshot of our conversation with a fan has been circulating over social media. It was about a fan’s plea for Marvel to take action against a Philippine television network over a potential dispute on intellectual property over an upcoming show.
We’d like to reiterate and emphasize that our page is NOT owned NOR affiliated with Marvel, its entertainment division, and the like. The page was created to build an avenue for Filipino Marvel fans to interact with each other. The page is also NON-PROFIT — and we’d like to keep it that way, forever.
In line with this, we are NOT suing anyone, and we have no future intentions to do so. This is FAKE NEWS.
Fellow Marvel fans, help us spread the REAL story. Our fandom is at stake. We’ve united as one two months ago — surely we can do it once more.

Despite the allegations, GMA Network is still continuing the production of “Victor Magtanggol.”

Select fans were treated to an exciting cinema experience as they got the first preview of the much-awaited sequel of Thor in SM Megamall’s IMAX Theater.
In the movie, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and is forced to team-up with the Hulk, Loki and new player Valkyrie to stop “Ragnarok”—the destruction of Asgard and its civilization, at the hands of the ruthless and all-powerful Hela.
Fans were left at the edge of their seat as they experienced the full glory of the movie in IMAX. Here are five reasons why you should catch it in IMAX too:
With select scenes shot exclusively using an IMAX camera, the theatre has a special format that features a 1.9:1 ratio, meaning you will get to see 26 percent more of the scene than what you’ll see in a regular cinema. We all know how Marvel loves to hide Easter eggs in all their films; that 26 percent can play a crucial role in the entire story of the Marvel universe. If you’re a Marvel fan, you can’t miss out on this.
If you’ve ever seen the imagery of Doctor Strange or the first installment of Thor in IMAX, you’ll easily conclude that color plays a huge role in the movie. Through psychedelic trips in and out of different universes, there is no better way to watch Thor: Ragnarok than with IMAX’s digital enhancement process which delivers 60% more brightness and 40% greater contrast than what you’ll find anywhere else.
IMAX has a wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling, curved screen that fills even your peripheral vision with increased viewing angles up to an average of 70 degrees. Can you just imagine the epic gladiator scene between Thor and the Hulk on its enormous display?
With a customized sound system that distributes sound throughout the theatre, you can hear the krak-a-thoom of the Mjolnir to the slightest pin drop and be able to tell exactly where it fell.
IMAX’s 3D projector delivers unsurpassed brightness and clarity. Coupled with the screen’s increased field of view, the results are images that jump off the screen and land right in your lap. Slide through time and space and live like a superhero in your most immersive experience yet.
So, what are you waiting for? Put that 3D glasses on and enjoy the biggest movie screen in town. Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok hits IMAX theatres and SM Cinema branches nationwide on October 25.
To increase its workers’ productivity, South Korea’s Daewoo shipyard, a maker or the world’s gigantic vessels are developing an innovative suit more known as exoskeletons. While wearing this robotic suit, the workers’ muscular strength will be boosted which will enable them to easily carry loads weighing more than 30kg. The company’s researchers are then aiming to increase the suit’s capability which will let them lift up to 100kg in the coming years.
It may not perfectly look like an “Iron Man” suit but the mechanism of the exoskeleton works exactly like that we are seeing in movies. Padded straps are being worn at the waist, thighs and schest which connects the user to the suit. The feet are strapped with the help of foot pads at its base. A backpack will then power up the electric motors and hydraulic joints which will be the prime movers of this wonderful innovation. It also has a Google-glass like night vision goggles that have sensors which can track the user’s hydration level, heart rate and provocation. The suit is mainly made up of carbon, aluminium alloy and steel and it weighs around 28kg while its battery pack can last for at least three hours. There is also a certain qualification for anyone who desires to wear it. They have to stand at least 160 to 185 cm high. People with heights and body frames within that range are expected to be able to carry the relatively heavy suit without any qualms.
While its main goal is to increase the shipyard workers’ productivity, some of its flaws can be distinguished relatively like the reduction of the workers’ speed due to the heavy suit, restricted twisting motion, lack of user-friendliness and its vulnerability to slippery areas. Nevertheless, this Korean “Iron Man”-like suit is still a marvellous technological advancement the good thing here is there is still a big room for improvement to make it a lot more efficient in the near future.
Last year was a big year for the Spider-man franchise after the announcement of Tobey Maguire’s return to the Spider-Man movie. This year is again another big change for the web slinger icon as Spider-Man will become part of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Speculations of Spider-Man’s appearance in the MCU started almost 10 years ago since the web slinger is one of the important characters in the Marvel Universe in the comic books.
In an announcement made last February 09, 2015, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment revealed that Sony is going to bring Marvel into Spider-Man.
According to Marvel, the new Spider-Man will appear first in a Marvel film from MCU, and on July 28, 2017, Sony Pictures will release another Spider-Man film which will involve Kevin Feige as a co-producer and his team at Marvel. Amy Pascal, a former executive of Sony Entertainment will also be involved in the production of the next Spider-Man film.
Spider-Man’s moving back to Marvel in the big screen is so monumental that the Walt Disney Company, who owns the Marvel franchise, rescheduled a number of Marvel films including “Thor: Ragnorak” which was supposed to be opened in cinemas on July 28, 2017.
Meanwhile, Bob Iger, CEO and Chairman of the Walt Disney Company has expressed their excitement to the new addition to the MCU.
Spider-Man is one of Marvel’s great characters, beloved around the world. We’re thrilled to work with Sony Pictures to bring the iconic web-slinger into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which opens up fantastic new opportunities for storytelling and franchise building.
Are the Avengers going to be included in the next Spider-Man film?
Currently, Sony Pictures and Marvel are looking into the possibility of integrating the Marvel heroes into the next Spider-Man movies.
Well the secret is not kept no more. Yes, Spider-Man is joining Captain America, Thor and Ironman in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe!
From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the “Guardians of the Galaxy.” An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.
Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy,” which first appeared in comic books in Marvel Super-Heroes, Issue #18 (Jan. 1969), stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, featuring Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Nova Prime Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector.
James Gunn is the director of the film with Kevin Feige producing, and Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jeremy Latcham, Alan Fine and Stan Lee serve as executive producers. The story is by Nicole Perlman and James Gunn, with screenplay by James Gunn.
Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” opens in Philippine theaters on August 1, 2014.
Have you been amazed by the amazing web slinger in his recent comeback? Yay or nay, you ought to read this thing. Bet my hat Director Marc Webb and the entire crew of The Amazing Spiderman 2 are now in jumps of joy. Why? Well I’m still hearing cheers from last night’s special screening of the flick, which I’m sure to echo to please Spidey-fans along with its enterprise in a blockbuster hit.
For those who watched it right away and those who are still waiting for the long lines to cease, here’s an overview of the not-so-spoiler facts:
The amazing twisted plot
Well, let’s catch-up first. We’re on the sequel from the last swing of Spidey from defeating Dr. Curt Connors (remember him? The Lizard Man) in the last film. Now, here’s the situation: Peter Parker/ Spiderman (Andrew Garfield) just can’t stay away from his girlfriend Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) after promising her dad so as to keep her safe, making their relationship as twisted as ever. Meanwhile, Spiderman rescues a nerdy Max Dillon (Jamie Foxx) who reveals to be working for OsCorp and later on becomes the shocking Electro. And here’s the comeback of Peter Parker’s best buddy Harry Osbourne, who is dying and is in complete confidence that Spidey’s blood can save his life. Oh one more thing, there’s a back masking of the real story behind Peter Parker’s parents. What more is there left to say?
But hey, don’t get discouraged here. As for myself, I can really say that the plotlines were a bit jumbled up. However, what made me sit for almost two-and-a-half-hours on the special screening are its solid actors, the witty script, made-perfect chemistry, and the epic visual effects.
Web of humor goes mainstream
This is what Hollywood superhero films are introduced today – with a mix of humour. The latest instalment of the web slinging hero is tinged with scenes that will absolutely not just make you chuckle but burst a laugh somehow. Unlike the first swing of Andrew Garfield as Spiderman in the first film, which revolves on a serious mood, with its dramatic pose of cries and goodbyes, the second instalment is far different.
Although the dramatic dispositions were instilled, you can easily notice how the full transcript of the film is mixed with humour. From slight movements to punch lines made mostly by Spidey himself, we can never miss the feel of laughing with the team while they shoot those specific scenes in the set.
The amazing emotional touch
For a superhero franchise which visualizes what we already know, it is a strange thing to see that Director Marc Webb really targeted our emotional cores in telling the story of Peter Parker and his immediate others. This is evident in Peter Parker’s search for truth behind his parent’s desertion of him when he was a child and in his relationship mainly with Gwen Stacy. I can say that this emotional touch is where the strength of the film lies.
If you’ve watched it already, you’ll understand how much we bantered and demanded more of Andrew and Gwen scenes as they light up the screen every time they stole a few kisses all throughout the film. And there’s more to tell…
Spidey and his heroine
Well, he loves his job, saving New York and showing off the amazing Spiderman everyone expects. But when it comes to formidable enemies, say on the first film we have the Lizard man, and Electro teamed up with Green Goblin in the recent sequel, we have Gwen to help her amazing boyfriend in a way that no other superhero girlfriends did.
Compared to the first film which showed a fearing and at the same time reassuring Gwen, she levelled up this time. Gwen Stacy became the reliable girlfriend, making her own decisions and steps in Spidey’s way in time when he goes over his head. In this instalment, she came to the realization of Spiderman’s responsibility to the city and finally understands why he does not have to be with her all the time.
The visual effects that will swing you away
When I say mind-blowing, I really meant mind-swinging when it comes to this. Spiderman loves to hang and swing around New York’s tallest skyscrapers. It’s amazing, really. It leaves you wanting for more jumps and swings, awed and dumbfounded all along. It happened to me. Ha-ha!
Tell you what, watch out for the superb fight scene between Spiderman and Electro (but what about the other villains?) Well, they’re superb as well, so watch out. Get ready for a mind-swing throughout the film.
Webbed plot means webbed climaxes
In the light of twisting plots this sequel have, you can never miss the number of climaxes that will leave you in a “What happens next?” facial expression. These rising actions are really swinging, it will get you thinking that you’re at the end already but it’s not. It really is not.
Anyway, these climaxes really come to an end. What’s good about this is, the film ended with a living villain, hinting another sequel to wait for. Applause for Spiderman!
