Sen. Robin Padilla has expressed full support for Atty. Rowena Guanzon’s possible senatorial run, despite previous criticisms the lawyer had made against him during the 2022 national elections.

In a Facebook post on March 31, Padilla shared his perspective as a Muslim, emphasizing that he does not take offense at insults directed at him, including being labeled as having “low IQ.”
Padilla also highlighted Guanzon’s competence, comparing her to prominent legal figures such as Vic Rodriguez, Salvador Panelo, Harry Roque, Larry Gadon, and Jimmy Bondoc.
“Never mind the praises of this world. What matters is the judgement of Allah,” he added.
Guanzon, a former Commission on Elections commissioner, is reportedly eyeing a Senate run in 2028 and has expressed support for Vice President Sara Duterte’s potential presidential bid.
Following Padilla’s endorsement, Guanzon responded by sharing his post and acknowledging her change in perception toward the senator.
“na-judge kita noon pero bilib ako sayo ngayon. Saludo sa supremo,” she wrote.
In a separate statement, Guanzon said she would not disappoint Padilla’s trust.
Guanzon’s latest remarks mark a notable shift from her earlier stance, when she had been among those who criticized Padilla during his 2022 Senate run, where he emerged as the top-ranking senator.
