1. EDSA

Gringo Honasan played a key role in the 1986 EDSA Revolution. He was one of the forces that helped topple President Ferdinand Marcos.

2. A born leader

He was part of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1971 and was known for persevering to achieve his goals, being humble, and having compassion for the less fortunate.

3. A true military man

After graduating in 1971, he joined the Philippine Army’s special forces Scout Ranger Regiment and went into combat against separatist and communist insurgents in Luzon and Mindanao.
