Actress and successful entrepreneur Neri Naig-Miranda has found herself at the center of controversy as netizens criticize her for sharing what they consider an unrealistic weekly meal plan for families.

Many have taken issue with the meal plan, which she claims can be done for ₱1,000 per week, as they believe it is out of touch with the current prices of groceries.

Neri shared her meal plan on both Instagram and Facebook, providing a breakdown of meals for a week, along with a shopping list for the market.

In her caption, she stated, “Eto na ang Neri’s (sample) Weekly Meal Plan.

“Para sa mga nanay na mamamalengke bukas pagkatapos ihatid ang mga bata sa school, eto na, pakiprint na po eto, kumpleto pati palengke list.

“Nagtry akong magbudget ng P1,000 for a week. Kung may sukli pa yan, pwede pangdagdag merienda o baon ng mga bata.”

However, many netizens disagreed with Neri’s suggested budget, deeming it unrealistic given the current high prices of groceries. They argued that even basic ingredients would consume a significant portion of the budget.

Here are some of the comments from netizens:

Neri Miranda’s meal plan has ignited a conversation about the challenges of managing household expenses, particularly amid rising costs for basic commodities. Many netizens believe that the suggested budget falls short of providing nutritious meals for a family in today’s economic climate.
