Joey de Leon appears to throw shade at ‘Eat Bulaga!,’ calls it ‘peke’

During a recent episode of the Kapatid noontime show ‘E.A.T,’ Joey’s comment caught the attention of viewers.

Joey de Leon recently made a humorous remark about something ‘fake’ in reference to who the legit Dabarkads are.

The term ‘Dabarkads,’ originally coined by the late rapper Francis Magalona, has now become associated with the Kapuso noontime show hosted by Isko Moreno and Paolo Contis.

During a recent episode of the Kapatid noontime show ‘E.A.T,’ Joey’s comment caught the attention of viewers.

“Kami legit, yung mga alam niyo, peke, baliktarin niyo yung legit, tigel na kayo, okay?” he said as the crowd cheered.

Joey also went viral previously after seemingly commenting on Vice Ganda’s helicopter ride.

On the pilot broadcast of ‘It’s Showtime’ on GTV last July 1, Vice Ganda took a helicopter ride from the ABS-CBN building to the GMA Network grounds.

He then descended in an elevator from the top to the Kapuso Network’s compound, where he performed alongside a large group of dancers.

The next day, July 2, Joey posted a group photo on Instagram showing himself, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and the authentic Dabarkads squeezed together in an elevator.

“Ganito kaliit lang ang studio namin sa TV5, parang elevator pero 1,000 floors naman ang taas ng ibinigay nyong pagpansin sa amin…lagpas helicopter!” he wrote as caption to the photo.

Meanwhile, Paolo Contis has admitted that he does not like it when the new ‘Eat Bulaga!’ is called fake by viewers.

In an interview with Ogie Diaz, Contis shared his genuine emotions regarding the negative feedback from netizens about their program.

“Para sa ‘kin masakit yun, yung fake. Kasi anong fake doon sa ginagawa namin? Naiintindihan ko na may issue sa title. Yes, naintindihan ko but it’s not for us to decide pero kung ano yung ginagawa namin, walang peke about it. Walang peke sa pagmamahal namin dun sa show.

“Naintindihan ko kasi fans sila ng original pero regardless of original, it doesn’t make us fake, it makes us new. It makes us rookies but it doesn’t make us fake. Kasi yung effort na binibigay namin, walang peke dun.

“If they think helping people, giving hope every day, na nagbibigay kami ng papremyo, you call it fake then so be it. But I don’t think there is anything fake about what we do. Araw-araw tumutulong kami, araw-araw sinusubukan naming magpasaya, araw-araw may nananalo, araw-araw may pinupuntahan si Yorme, walang peke dun.

“Sana mapagbigyan nila kami because ang panlaban lang naman namin dun is yung sincerity of helping eh.”
