Artist dismayed after client burns oil painting due to dissatisfaction

An artist from Isabela expressed his disappointment over what happened to the artwork he created for his teacher client.

Artist Edmar Casinillo claimed that apart from not receiving payment, his artwork was also ridiculed and burned.

In a May 30 Facebook post, Casinillo said the client rejected his work because “d maganda ung paggawa mo.”

The painting contained the client’s 14 family members.

“D ko maidisplay nakakahiya akala ko nga wla na e dahil sa inis ko un sinunog ko,” the client said who also happens to be a teacher.

The artist is appealing to be paid at least PHP3,000 to recover the expenses he incurred for the materials used in creating the artwork.

The client could have returned the artwork instead of burning it.

However, what happened to the artist only benefited him.

Netizens sympathized with his situation and provided financial assistance.

He even posted on his Facebook Story the names of those who showed kindness, including content creator Mika Salamanca.
