LOOK: Mexican Superstar Thalia recreates her iconic ‘Marimar’ scene

At 50, the global Mexican superstar served a hefty dose of nostalgia for her fans when she had a breathtaking redo of one of her iconic scenes in ‘Marimar’. The soap opera also aired in the Philippines and achieved household popularity via RPN-9 in 1995.

The Mexican actress and singer recreated one of the most memorable scenes she did for the global Mexicanovela hit, Marimar, which [originally] aired on Mexican TV in 1994.

Ariadna Thalía Sodi Miranda in real life, Thalia took to social media to share with her fans that she found the original dress she wore for her 1994 TV series, Marimar. The discovery came nearly three decades since she achieved global superstardom. The soap opera followed the story of the titular character, Marimar, a sweet barrio lass who fell in love with the son of a wealthy ranch owner.

Written in Spanish, Thalia’s long Instagram post consists of her looking back on her iconic character and her gratitude for those who are still enamored by Marimar’s love story. 

“In my wildest dreams, I would have never imagined that this character would be a part of me during my lifetime,” she said in her post.

More than two decades later, #Marimar continues to conquer hearts and varied audiences in all territories, from all generations and without a language barrier.” 

She noted, as prepared to groom herself the same way Marimar did, 28 years ago. The video attached to her post showed the original dress, still intact with its floral patterns and ripped parts.

The actress shared that the whole process of preparing and redoing the scene was a remarkable journey that brought her emotions.

What I felt at the moment, in which I began to characterize myself once again, but more than 20 years later, made me cry with joy and remember an avalanche of unforgettable moments,” she shared.

The actress shared that she enjoyed doing the scene, not just for her fans, but also for herself. 

I had a lot of fun doing it for all of you…although I have to admit, I did it for myself too. 

Thalia visited the Philippines in 1996. She notably recorded her version of Ogie Alcasid song Nandito Ako in Tagalog.
