In the ‘Laylo Survey’– VP Leni Robredo loses the socio-economic classes A, B, C, which Bongbong Marcos’ camp refers to as the ‘Thinking Class’

In a press release titled ‘Robredo dumped by thinking class (ABC); Marcos gains — Laylo Survey’, Marcos Jr’s camp expressed its confidence in Marcos Jr’s chance of scoring the presidency.

Netizens are to respond to the recent press release made by BBM’s Uniteam, following the publication of the polling firm, Laylo Research Strategies’ latest presidential survey.

In the said survey, the defeated 2016 vice-presidential retained his commanding lead over his nearest rival, with 61% of the voters predicted to go for Marcos Jr, while 19% will go for Robredo.

In a press release titled ‘Robredo dumped by thinking class (ABC); Marcos gains — Laylo Survey, Marcos Jr’s camp expressed its confidence in Marcos Jr’s chance of scoring the presidency.

“Presidential front-runner ‘Bongbong Marcos’ maintained his kilometric lead in the March Laylo Research survey including in the ‘thinking class’ (ABC…” the press release reads.

Marcos Jr’s camp also underscored the increase of the presidentiable’s numbers on the said classes, by four percent, while Robredo lost a substantial 10 percent.

The press release called Robredo’s decline an indication of her being dumped by the socio-economic classes A, B, and C, which they called the ‘thinking class’. In the Philippine socio-economic stratum, classes A, B, and C comprise the richest Filipinos, including the ultra-rich. Classes A and B, are said to comprise just 1% of all families in the Philippines. Class D, meanwhile, is made up of about 60% or the largest bulk of Filipino families. Class E are those who belong to the poorest class, including those below the poverty line.

Netizens are quick to take a swipe at Marcos Jr’s camp for their apparent indirect insinuation that the other classes, or the classes C, D, E, ‘do not think’. Many also take it as an insult to the low-income Filipinos, from which a big chunk of Marcos Jr’s supporters also belongs.

Villaruel, on twitter, asked: “ABC lang ang thinking class’? Why naman?”

Another user, mimi, also asked: “what in the elitist behavior is this

Kakampink user, coco, meanwhile, seemingly took offense to the duality of the supporters of other candidates. “Pag ABC = Leni, elitista. Pag ABC = LBM, “thinking.” Double standards much??” his tweet reads.

It can be recalled that some of Marcos Jr’s and Leody de Guzman’s supporters accused Robredo’s followers as ‘elitists.’

The UniTeam Camp is yet to release another statement to clarify the issue.
