Ogie Diaz claims none of VP Leni Robredo’s celeb supporters were paid off

Diaz noted that it’s important that people do not sell themselves out

Ogie Diaz claims all the celebrities who support Vice President Leni Robredo’s campaign for the presidency are authentic and weren’t compensated.

Diaz was one of the 40,000 who showed up at Robredo’s Iloilo rally, the 36th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.

He admitted that celebrities almost always see their bank accounts grow every election season.

“Napakalaki po ng bayad ng artista pagdating ng kampanya, totoo ‘yan. Every three years po, kami ay nananagana sa kita dahil syempre ‘pag panahon ang eleksyon, aba, magaganda kami lahat d’yan, medyo paldo-paldo ang bulsa,” he said while sharing the stage with actress Lara Quigaman-Alacaraz in the Iloilo Sports Complex.

Speaking on behalf of the celebrities who back the vice president, he said none of them were compensated for their support.

“Pero sa pagkakataong ito, ni singkong duling, wala kaming tinanggap,” he said proudly.

Diaz noted that it’s important that people do not sell themselves out.

“Ang importante sa amin, katulad ninyo na wala rin kayong tinanggap, tama? Walang nagabayad sa inyo, tama? Handa kayong kumalam ang sikmura ngayong araw, tama? Walang pakain ‘yan. Walang palugaw,

“Busog ang utak at puso para kay VP Leni at Kiko. Maraming-maraming salamat!” he continued.

Rica Paralejo, Bituin Escalante, Cherry Pie Picache, Edu Manzano, Gabby Padilla, Gab Valenciano, Pipay, abd Juan Karlos were among the celebrities who attended the event.
