Troy Laureta reveals the secret to becoming successful in the music industry

Though not a singer, Laureta has the ability to dissect certain voices and match them with the appropriate musical style

Filipino-American music director Troy Laureta doesn’t have a secret about his success in producing songs.

Just a year following the release of his OPM collective “KAIBIGAN”, Laureta has now come out with a  “GILIW: A Troy Laureta OPM Collective Vol. 2″ which has 13 tracks featuring international artists such as male group All-4-One, Deborah Cox, and “American Idol” season 2 winner Ruben Studdard.

In a media conference, Laureta was asked if he could share the secret to becoming successful in the music industry, but he revealed he had none.

He attributed his progress to the great artists he learned from over the years. One would be his mentor, David Foster.

“There’s really no secret. I was influenced by a lot of great people. I worked with one of my greatest idols, my mentor, David Foster. I worked with him so closely in the past 10 years,” he shared.

Though not a singer, Laureta has the ability to dissect certain voices and match them with the appropriate musical style.

“I like to think that I understand the way the voice works and what works, what kind of music works around certain kinds of voices,

“It’s no secret, it’s just kind of studying people’s voices and being one with the music. Over the years I’ve been really lucky to be able to work with such amazing singers,” he added.

Giliw is available on various streaming platforms worldwide.
