Harry Roque claims to have no idea of Mocha Uson’s steamy past

The spokesperson then stated that Uson only took the second chance that the President has given her.

After President Rodrigo Duterte brought back and poked fun of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno‘s past sexy photos, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque claimed he had no business and idea of Mocha Uson’s past before the administration has appointed her to a position in the government.

In an online briefing, Roque stated that Uson was just appointed and that he honestly doesn’t know anything about her previous career.

“Si Mocha Uson, na-appoint po ‘yan. Pero hindi ko naman po alam kung ano talagang nakaraan ni Mocha Uson, sa totoo lang po,” he said.

Despite saying that he doesn’t know about Uson’s past, Roque added that she only took the second chance that the President has given her.

“The President gave her a second chance, and I think she took advantage of the second chance.”

Before becoming a public servant, Uson became popular for her sexy image and on-stage antics that included lap dances. She then caught the attention of the mainstream media as a member of her own girl group, Mocha Girls.

Her popular blog, Mocha Uson Blog, initially provided commentary and advice on issues relating to sexuality. However, during the 2016 Presidential elections, her blog shifted towards politics and has actively supported President Duterte.

She has been constantly criticized for her alleged fake news peddling and misinformation on her Facebook page. This has earned her the title “Queen of Fake News” which her critics coined.

Uson is currently the deputy administrator of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).

On the other hand, Roque proceeded to defend President Duterte’s sentiments against Moreno by saying that it was just a matter of the “Is this what you want?” question to the Filipinos.

“Iyong konteksto po ng sinasabi ni Presidente kagabi, ang narinig ko lang naman po is, ‘Ito ba ang gusto n’yo? It’s a question, it’s a pending question to the sambayanan.”
