What do you do with your coins whenever you receive them? Do you spend it right away or do you save them up?
A young man in Bacoor, Cavite chose the second option, which is why he was able to buy his dream bicycle.
Bike Bike Bike Bacoor Cavite posted on their facebook page about a guy who bought a bike from them and paid them with coins.
“Saludo kay Kuya Alejandro of Bacoor sa ipon at tiyaga! Ngayon may gravel bike na siya!” they wrote.
Alejandro Colcol started his “Barya Challenge” in June last year wherein he planned to save up all the coins he’ll grab of. After 10 months of doing so, he has set aside enough money to buy himself a new bike.
So when his 24th birthday came, he counted all his savings and bought what he wanted to buy for Php15,900.
According to an interview with Alejandro, he said that he has made sacrifices just to save up more money which means he had to deprive himself of other things and even hangouts with his friends.
“Kahit may mga gala, minsan di na sumasama. Or may nakitang sale na shoes or damit na gusto ko, hinahawakan ko lang, then ina-absorb yung positive vibes na makikita namin someday.”

He has prioritized the payment for his bills and is also saving up for future investments and insurance.
“Unahin ang responsibilities before anything else na gastos. Prioritize mo talaga gusto mo. And just just set your mind to eat.”
Alejandro then gave a piece of advice to people like him who have big dreams.
“Unahin mo si God. Dahil lahat ng blessings nanggagaling sa kanya. Yung ang tunay na law of attraction.”
