Joaquin Domagoso says that he doesn’t want to live in the Malacañan Palace

Mayor Isko Moreno’s son reacts to the possibility of him living in the Palace if ever his dad runs for and wins in the 2022 Presidential Elections.

Rising star Joaquin Domagoso recently stated his opinion about the possibiliy of him living in Malacanang if ever his father, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, decides to run and succeeds in the 2022 Presidential elections.

Despite his father being included in the top presidential bets by the Filipino citizens, the young Domagoso said that he does wish it won’t push through.

“Sana po hindi. Ayaw ko talaga,” Joaquin said in an interview during zoom conference of their upcoming series.

He added that he’s worried that the people’s perception of him will change and that he won’t be able to enjoy life to the fullest.

“Baka umiba na yung tingin ng tao sakin or maging mahirap ang buhay eh. May bodyguard ka na lagi. Edi pano yun? Paano ka makaka-enjoy ng buhay?”

When asked if his dad knows what he just said, Joaquin immediately answered that his dad doesn’t really want to run for the presidency.

“Opinion ng dad ko ayaw niya rin naman tumakbo as presidente eh. Hanggang Mayor lang po siya.”

A few months ago, Moreno stated that even though he’s grateful that people would want him to lead the country, he would rather focus on Manila and the current situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

On a lighter note, Joaquin reacted to the comparisons between him and his dad’s showbiz career.

“Basta ako mas pogi ako,” he joked.

“Joke lang! Hindi, okay lang naman sakin na ma-compare ako sa tatay ko kasi given naman na macocompare kami. Pero that’s not my focus naman eh,” he added, referring to his father’s career as a dancer in That’s Entertainment.

“That’s what he wanted to do when he was a kid and ako naman gusto ko rin maging artista. So hindi ko naman kino-compare yung mga achievements niya sakin kasi we all have different phases and different experiences.”

Joaquin is currently a part of GMA Network‘s latest romantic comedy series First Yaya.
