The love story of the two goes way back as they met when Kathleen was still a high school student and Nikko was one of the youth leaders in their church.

It turned out that Nikko had a crush on Kathleen and everyone in the church knew but her.

“I didn’t have the slightest idea that he’s giving me some special treatment. My friends at church started saying that I have a ‘Pusong Bato’ because I wasn’t able to discern that Nikko likes me,” she shared.

But one day, Nikko suddenly stopped all his sweet gestures. Some even said that he’s already interested in another girl. This made Kathleen realize her feelings, so on her 19th birthday, she decided to write a letter of appreciation. That’s when they started being open about their attraction towards each other.

And six years later, they got engaged.

“He invited some of our friends and churchmates for it to look like a regular birthday party. He bought me a pair of shoes as a birthday gift where he hid the engagement ring. He wanted me to wear the shoes right away so he knelt down and offered to help me wear the shoes. I was surprised when he got the engagement ring out of the shoes,” Kathleen said.

She said “yes” and the rest is history.

When asked if she had any message to her husband-to-be, Kathleen responded with “I’m excited to spend the rest of my life with you, My love! I love you and I’m so blessed to have you.”
