LOOK: “Giant rat” found in Mexico City sewers

People are still wondering how something that big got into the sewers. A video of it being hosed down shows how big the rat is.

Cleanup workers in Mexico City were shocked after they encountered a “giant rat” as they were taking out 22 tons of trash from the drainage system.

Apparently, the rodent was just a Halloween prop created by a woman named Evelin López.

According to her, she lost the prop “years ago” when she placed it in a warehouse. The rat was then washed away during heavy storms. She asked for assistance to look for it in the sewers “no one had ever come to help”.

Bystanders reportedly said that they would’ve run away if they saw the rat in the streets. They also praised how realistic it looked, especially its fur.

López still doesn’t know what to do with the prop, but people have suggested that it be cleaned further so it can be used this coming Halloween.
