Ethel Booba says she has no death threats and is a Duterte supporter, draws skepticism from netizens

Her supporters think that the administration is threatening her.

Ethel Booba went on YouTube to clear up any confusion about the fake Twitter account that has been using her name for the past 8 years.

“Itago na lang natin siya sa pangalang ‘Fake Cuneta.”

Ethel doesn’t really know who is the admin of the account.

“Hindi ko siya kilala.”

The comedienne used to have a Twitter account but left the platform when all she saw was negativity.

“Meron akong Twitter before@IamRealGabisonEthyl

She didn’t like Twitter because people there have “so much hatred in their heart”.

“Nawalan ako ng gana, parang nakaka bad vibes sya, kaya tinanggal ko yun”, she said.

The admin of the @IamEthylGabison account started following Ethel’s siblings.

“Finollow niya yung mga kapatid ko.”

Her siblings asked if she had returned to Twitter and Ethel said no.

The admin then followed Jerry, a close friend of Ethel who regularly goes with her to tapings.

The admin then told Ethel’s siblings that they were a fan of the comedian.

“I’m a fan of your ate”

It started off with the admin taking posts from Ethel’s Facebook page and Tweeting them.

The admin would also ask the siblings about future projects so it can be promoted on Facebook.

Ethel had no problem with it, and even said that she was lucky because someone would praise her on social media for free.

“Hinayaan ko lang, nakalibre ako.”

Ethel felt like she had to own up to the account because every post was an accurate representation of her as a person.

“Kailangan kong angkinin dahil ginagaya niya lang naman ako.”

But in 2019, the fake account suddenly became more political.

Ethel did not like that the account tweeted about taxes and funds which got her emotional, as seen in the video.

The fake account made Ethel look selfish.

“Bakit parang pinagmumuka mo akong maramut, hindi ako maramot na tao kung alam mo lang.”

Ethel then revealed that she actually campaigned with Duterte in Davao during the presidential race, and even voted for him, which based on the comments on the video, gained her new fans, specifically those DDS.

“Sinuportahan ko yung pangulo natin. Binoto ko nga yung tao eh, tapos kokontrahin ko?”

Things started getting worse as the fake account stopped posting jokes given by Ethel.

“Masyado kasing papansin. Ginagamit mo ako kasi mas mapapansin ang mga tweets mo.”

One of Ethel’s siblings even told the admin to stop it because the comedian is about to give birth.

Ethel threatened the admin that she would report the account because it was too much already.

“Nakakahighblood na talaga tong mga ganito. Kaya sinabi ko na irereport ko siya.”

The admin was capitalizing on the millions of followers it had, as it was even able to make transactions.

“Wala akong alam dyan sa mga transaction ninyo.”

In this trying time, Ethel wants Filipinos to be one, and to set aside political beliefs for a while.

“Dapat nga ngayon mag kaisa tayo kasi di natin alam kung katapusan na ng mundo.”

Both Ethel and her partner are frustrated that they can’t take their newborn child out to the world because of this pandemic.

Ethel also cleared up about rumors that she was receiving death threats due to the fake account’s tweets.

“Wala akong death threat.”

“Kailangan ko ‘tong ir-report na kasi malapit na rin yung eleksyon eh. Baka pagkakakitaan niya pa ‘to.”

“Bira lang sya ng bira tapos ako ang nasisira.”

The couple also said that the reason the fake account became more political is because Ethel started vlogging which according to her is a more popular way of getting attention compared to tweeting.

Ethel told the admin to stop, once and for all.

“Tigilan mo yan, makakarma ka.”

In a message, the fake account revealed that it has many admins, and all of them are fans of the comedian, but Ethel doesn’t care.

Ethel is also confused about why the account would constantly attack Mocha Uson.

“Tapos tinitira niyo si Mocha.”

The couple says that they don’t care for bashers, as long as they don’t involve their child.

“Bahala kayo kung kakatuwa ninyo yan.

“Wag niyong idadamay anak ko.”

Ethel isn’t mad at the fans of the fake account, and thanked them for supporting her.

“Maraming salamat sa pagmamahal as akin.”

The fake account became popular when it started attacking the current administration. It also used the word ‘charot’ in nearly every single post, which is actually Ethel’s signature line.

During an appearance on It’s Showtime in 2019, Ethel said that she worked with the admins of the account.

The tweets are vetted carefully before getting posted on Twitter.

Maraming ano ’yan, pagme-meeting ’yan,”, she said.

But in an Instagram post on April 9, she said that the account was fake.

“Beware of this FAKE! Twitter!”

Netizens then try to speculate why she would renounce that account.

Her supporters think that the administration is threatening her.

While the DDS say that the administration has no time to deal with nonsense due to issues brought by COVID-19.
