95-year-old man recovers from COVID-19 in Madaluyong City

Another elderly is said to have been continuously recovering from the disease in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. 

  • A 95-year-old man successfully recovered from COVID-19 in Mandaluyong City.
  • Upon his discharge, he was greeted by the hospital’s frontliners and Mayor Menchie Abalos.

A 95-year-old man’s discharge from the hospital was celebrated by the frontliners in Mandaluyong City. He was finally released after testing negative of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In a post shared on Mayor Menchie Abalos’ Facebook page, Cresecio Junio was met with applause and cheers from the health workers of Mandaluyong City Medical Center (MCMC).

According to the City Public Information Officer Jimmy Isidro, Junio is possibly the oldest person so far to have recovered from the contagious disease in the country.

Maligayang pasko ng pagkabuhay, isang Pagasa ang ibinigay sa atin ni lolo Cresencio Junio na isang 95yrs old na naka-recover sa COVID-19. Maraming salamat sa lahat ng mga doctors, nurses at sa lahat ng frontliners ng Mandaluyong city medical center (MCMC). Simbolo ka lolo ng liwanag na nadadanasan natin ngayon. Ang importante ang pagkakaisa at pananampalataya sa Diyos.

“He was admitted to the hospital on March 20. It was on April 4 when he tested negative for COVID-19,” he stated.

Junio was escorted out in a wheelchair while holding a piece of paper saying “I’m a 95-year-old COVID survivor.”

He was also greeted by the mayor before boarding an ambulance.

In Laguna, an 83-year-old woman recovered from COVID-19. She went to a hospital after testing positive for the virus on March 22. However, Sta. Rosa City Mayor Arlene Arcillas said that the woman had already tested negative in her second confirmatory test.
