12th Grader Sarah Joy Soriano from Talaver National High School is going viral on social media for selling lumpia at her school.

Sherdy Turalba, a student of the school, went on Facebook and showed how much of an inspiration Soriano is to them. Soriano is known to sell lumpia regularly. Turalba thought it was all part of a requirement but found out that Soriano was doing all of this because she has to.

Turalba urges student at the school to buy from Soriano since it really helps her get to her needs.

As of now, the post has 83k likes and 43k shares.

GMA News was able to travel to Nueva Ecija and go the Soriano’s High School to interview her.

The 18-year-old belongs to the ABM Strand, and according to her teacher Rizalyn Acob, Soriano is one of the best students in her class.

“Isa siyang mabait na bata, talagang masipag siyang mag-aral”.

One lumpia sells for Php10 each and she makes an average of 1,000 pesos day, but her capital is around Php500.

Soriano revealed that the money is not only for her, but for her five-month-old child.

Soriano plans on graduating and working for a bank. Her selling lumpia on the regular is not an obstacle to her studies, as she always aces her quizzes, according to her teacher.

Her classmates look up to her and considers her as their ‘ate’.

Turalba was also interviewed.

A good samaritan, who wants to remain anonymous, is also sponsoring Soriano with her needs.

Things get even better for the single mom. Her hard work caught the attention of Mayor Nerivi Martinez. Martinez promised that she will hand out contributions towards Soriano’s lumpia business and that Soriano will be given a scholarship on NEUST-MGT.
