  • A woman asked for gifts of diapers and milk which would benefit her child  more
  • Mae Mhella was so thankful and so excited because her friends and family listened to her request
  • She also advised other mothers to ask something for their children’s necessities than asking for some toys

A woman who was throwing a birthday party for her two-year-old daughter decided to do something a little different. Instead of the usual gift of toys, she asked for diapers and milk which would benefit her child more.

Mom Mae Mhella made creative birthday invitations for her daughter Nathalie Briella’s party where she included a personal note. “PS. Lampin (XL) and gatas (Bear brand) na lang po ang gift niyo sa kaniya. Huwag na pong laruan,” she wrote.

Her post fired up the netizens’ reactions but with the help of social media, she was able to explain her side why she asked for the child’s necessities than receiving toys.

On Mae Mhella’s Facebook post, she shared her experience of asking milk and diapers as a birthday gift for her daughter who just turned two years old.

During her daughter’s birthday party, Mae’s was so thankful and so excited because her friends and family had listened to her request. Indeed, she is a certified practical mom.

She was so overwhelmed with the support she receivesd so she snapped a photo of the diapers and milk and posted it on social media. Netizens have reacted negatively and even said what she did was “Nakakahiya!”

She was aware of the issues being thrown at her, but she said she doesn’t care.

Alam ko na may iba na nagsabi na, ‘Ay grabe naman’, ‘Ano ba yan nakakahiya naman si Ano,’ o ‘Ay praktikalan talaga siya.”

She also admitted that she spent a lot for her daughter’s birthday celebration, “Aaminin ko din na naubos ang pera ko pagka tapos ng birthday ng anak ko,” she said

But Mhella didn’t have to worry if she might run out of diapers and milk because she already got some stock from her daughter’s birthday gifts.

“Pero dahil ganyan regalo nila sa baby ko. ‘Di ako kakabahan kasi may stock naman anak ko,” she said.

She also advised other mothers to ask something for their children’s necessities than asking for some toys.

Kaya sa ibang nanay diyan, mas okay na i-post n’yo na ganyan na lang iregalo sa anak n’yo. Kesa laruan, masisira din yun! Eh kapag gatas, busog na nga tataba pa anak mo.”

At the end of her post, she still thanked the people who listened to her request and gave her the things she needs for her baby.
